Chapter Fifty One

Corinna

My fist connects with Josephine's face again, another loud crack echoesthrough the room as more blood splatters onto the plastic covering theground. By now she is nearly unrecognisable, due to her healing beingslowed down dramatically from how weak she is.

She lets out a low laugh, spitting the blood gathered in her mouth inmy direction. " That baby inside you dead yet? "

Wrapping my hand around her neck roughly, cutting off her laughteralong with her air supply, I allow my claws to extend and pierce into herskin before ripping apart her flesh, leaving her unable to speak.

" My baby is just fine, you evil bitch. " I growl. " You on the other hand,won't be leaving this room alive. "

I watch her eyes fill with terror as I plunge my hand into her chest,wrapping my fist around her rapidly beating heart. Her body tenses upas I tighten my grip, before it finally goes slack as I remove her heartfrom her body.

With a shaky breath, I turn and exit the room, heading straight into theroom where Olive is being held. Her head lifts as I slam the door shut,before she can open her mouth to say a word, I toss Josephine’s heartonto the floor, watching as it rolls across the plastic, stopping at hersister's feet.

Olive lets out a sob, as her gaze falls on the organ. " I don't know whois worse, your sister for pumping me full of wolfsbane in an attempt tokill my unborn child, or you, for standing by and not doing a thing tostop her, regardless of you knowing how wrong it was. " I say, my voicecold.

" You- you killed her. " She cries, struggling against her restraints.

"1 wasn't going to give her another chance to kill my baby or me. And Iwon't give you a chance to betray us again. " I tell her.

"1 tried to help you! " She sobs. " I told him where you were! I sent Malyour location! *

Clenching my fists, I turn away and walk out the door, leaning against itwith my eyes closed when I'm out of the room. Kai who was standing inthe hallway, waiting for me, immediately walks up to me, taking myblood stained hands in his.

"1 can't do it Kai, I need to get out of here. " I mumble.

He nods his head. " Go clean yourself up, I'll finish it. He tells me,planting a kiss to my cheek.

Doing as I'm told, I push myself off of the door and speed walk backthrough the house until I'm in Kai's room. I go straight into thebathroom, turning on the shower to allow the water to heat while Iundress.

Once I've scrubbed myself clean, I wrap a towel around my body, goingback into the bedroom and taking a seat on the bed. Moments later,Kai comes in, he sends me a weak smile as he wanders into thebathroom to wash the blood from his hands, then he joins me on thebed.

"1 know what they did, but I hated that. " I whisper to him.

"1 think there would be a bigger issue if you enjoyed it. * He says,kicking the shoes from his feet and moving further onto the bed.

"1 really don't want this life for our kid, I don't want her to have toconstantly fight for survival or kill for it, I don't want her to be huntedfor something she can't control. * I confess, staring down at my hands."1 know. " He sighs. * Come here. "

"Just give me a minute. " I mumble, standing up from the bed andheading into the closet to grab one of his shirts.

When the material is on my body, I make my way back into him andcrawl onto the bed and straight into his arms, which he wraps aroundme tightly. We stay curled up together for an unknown amount of time,every so often he whispers how everything will be okay and that we'llfigure it out together, until eventually I start to believe his words.

"1 was thinking. " I start. " There's not much point in me having my ownroom, I sleep in here every night and I mainly go to that room tochange clothes. "

He hums in acknowledgement, but stays silent letting me continue. "Well I guess I was just thinking, we could turn that room into the anursery for the baby? *

" That sounds like a great idea. " He mumbles, pressing a kiss to theside of my head.

" Did you ever send people to Helena's place? " I question.

"Yes, I did. When they went there was no sign of anyone, but the housewas still full of the baby's things, they also noticed there was itemsbelonging to a man, not many but a few things. " He informs me.

" Helena's mate. " I mutter. " I want to go there soon, I need to makesure they're okay and that they know what happened to her. "

" We can go together. " He nods.

We lay together making a plan to visit Helena's home, that eventuallyleads into us starting to plan how we'd like to decorate the baby'sroom, which then turns into us arguing about baby names.

"No I hate that! " I complain

" Okay, okay. " He laughs. " What about June for a girl? "

I hum. " June.. June is cute, but I don't know naming our baby that.Evangeline? "

" That's kind of a mouthful. * He purses his lips

" Oh what and Malakai isn't? " I snort, raising an eyebrow at him.

" Yeah it is! That's why everyone calls me Mal. " He argues.

" Fair point. " I sigh.

We continue to bicker together, until I eventually get too tired to keepmy eyes open, let alone reply to him. He leans over to turn the lights offin the room, then wraps his arm around my body again, he uses his freehand to brush his fingers back and forth against my scalp soothinglyuntil I fall into a dreamless sleep
