Chapter 0222

“Mr. Elysian, Cloudware Corporation and Omegaspace Corporation have always had good cooperation. This time, the Quinton family’s visit is also to renew the contract with Cloudware Corporation.” reported Sawyer as he flipped through the data he had collected.

“If Mr. Reeves is willing to facilitate, the Quintons should also show some goodwill.”

“Did Cloudware Corporation only start working with Aether Corporation two years ago?” Alex

asked.

“Yes, it was a project from two years ago.

Alex made an acknowledging sound and fell silent.

Sawyer, unsure of what to say next, watched his expressionless face, hesitating to speak.

He used to be responsible for verifying conditions in various companies. Normally, it was Candice who accompanied Alex in client meetings. However, now that she was gone, this responsibility

fell on him.

Honestly, he found it challenging to gauge Alex’s thoughts.

Sighing, inwardly. Sawyer stopped pondering and glanced toward a small pond. Suddenly, he paused, “Why is Candice here?”

Alex, who had been lost in thought, heard his words, blinked, and calmly said, “During the last contract renewal with Cloudware Corporation, did they propose to increase the profit?”

Sawyer was still looking at Candice when he heard Alex’s question. He paused and then replied,”

Yes, but we didn’t agree.”

Seeing the car driving straight toward the orchard, Candice realized her mistake.

She waited outside

for over ten minutes before Hanley and the others arrived.

Hanley was dressed formally today. He asked her, “Why didn’t you come in?”

“The people from Dream Search and Webrews Group are all inside.

Ryan clicked his tongue. “What’s Webrews Group doing? The issue is between Dream Search and

Burning Star Studio. What’s their part in this?”

Candice also had the same question. Logically, the main issue was between Dream Search and Burning Star Studio. Webrews Group, as a collaborating party, intervening felt out of place.

However, it indirectly proved that Francis must attach great importance to this cooperation.

The department’s staff arrived late, and upon arrival, didn’t discuss the exhibition; instead, they immediately invited everyone to relax outside.

“We won’t discuss work today. Let’s just make friends and have fun together. Everyone is usually busy w

with work, so it’s rare to have a chance to relax. Let’s take this opportunity to unwind. It’s not

good to stay indoors with our heads buried in work every day.”

The person in charge, named Henry, had a smiling face.

Quietly, Nadia said to Candice, “This guy looks like someone who tries to play both sides.”

Candice raised an eyebrow, agreeing with her.

The department tried to take advantage of both sides, hence, they had to tread lightly and

maintain peace, hoping the two studios could get along peacefully.

The main leisure activities at Bloom Garden were flower appreciation, fishing, fruit picking, and

experiencing farm work.

On such a scorching day, there wasn’t much fun to be had.

Still since the person in charge was still there, they couldn’t disregard him.

Candice, Nadia, and another girl wore sun hats and went to pick fruits in the orchard.

The orchard was shielded by trees, making the sun less scorching. Candice cut a few bunches of

grapes and put them in a basket. When she looked up, she noticed a pavilion directly ahead.

where faint figures could be seen inside.

In the pavilion, Fredrick had a smile on his face. Following Alex’s line of sight, he sighed. “Youth is

indeed wonderful. Back in my youth, I often helped my family harvest wheat!”

After he finished, he asked Alex, “Mr. Elysian, if you’re interested, why not experience some farm

activities? I brought my wife and children here last time, and the fruits here are indeed delicious.”

Alex withdrew his gaze and looked calmly at him, “I wonder if what I just mentioned has been

considered by Mr. Reeves?”

Fredrick, who h

had initially wanted to change the topic, froze instantly, looking troubled. After a while, he spoke with a distressed expression, “Mr. Elysian, it’s not that I’m unwilling to help you. but I can’t. It’s true that Cloudware Corporation and Omegaspace Corporation have been cooperating, but it’s because I helped the Quinton family with a small favor previously that they

were willing to collaborate. How could I possibly meddle in their affairs?”

Listening to his distressed state, Alex’s expression remained unchanged. It wasn’t until Fredrick finished speaking that he said, “I just wanted Mr. Reeves to make a slight introduction. It’s not necessary to seal the deal. Or do you think that Aether Corporation’s concessions aren’t enough?”

Struck at the core of the matter, Fredrick felt momentarily embarrassed. He scratched his chin and said. “Mr. Elysian, you’re putting me in a difficult spot.”

Alex remained indifferent. He subtly gestured, and Sawyer politely reminded, “Mr. Reeves, I heard you enjoy fishing. This place has a nice environment. Why not…”

The scorching sun was fickle, just like a child’s mood. Just a moment ago, it was blazing, and now, it had become overcast.

Candice had been in the sun for quite some time. She looked at the sky, informed Nadia, and prepared to return to the rest area.

Hanley had been called away by a phone call earlier and hadn’t returned yet.

Although it wasn’t far from the orchard, the entire Bloom Garden had many paths and greenery to accentuate the rural atmosphere.

Candice was slowly walking back following the signs. However, when she reached a bambool forest, an unexpected figure came toward her.

It was none other than Francis.

She instinctively wanted to avoid him, but he intentionally blocked her path.

This area was secluded, and further ahead was the fishing pond. On such a hot day, no one wanted to go there.

Francis, with a smirk not quite reaching his eyes, looked at her. “Why are you alone, Candice?”

He clearly didn’t have good intentions. She retreated a few steps warily. “Do you need something?”

“Hmm.” A glint of hostility flashed in Francis’s eyes behind his lenses. He stared at her face and said coldly, “You record conversations, don’t you?”

She watched him warily, sensing his resentment. She checked around to see if anyone was nearby and tried to engage with him. “You want me to delete the recording?”

“Candice, what exactly are you proud of? You pretend all the time. Even if I take a liking to you, you don’t know how to appreciate it?”

He slowly approached Candice. He had probably just had a smoke as the lingering smell was quite overpowering.

It was too quiet around; even if Francis seemed frail, he was still a man. Candice didn’t think she had much chance if it came down to a physical confrontation between them.

She forced herself to remain calm and spoke, “Mr. Moreno, we are still in a competitive relationship. It’s not appropriate for us to have too much private conversation.”

“Not appropriate? I feel it’s quite appropriate.” Francis spoke and took a few steps closer to her

again.

His smile appeared sinister. “Candice, since you’re following both Alex and Hanley, do you hate me so much? Do you think that Baldwin guy would believe you if he saw us together? I’m a man too, and I understand men the best. Even if you deny it, what’s the use? I’ll just say that we’ve had a thing, and we’ll see if they’ll believe you.”

As Francis finished speaking, he moved to grab Candice, who looked tense. She was about to seize the right moment to throw something she had in her hand at him when she heard a deep voice, “What are you two doing?”
