Oops, I’ve Been Exposed -
Chapter 42 by Lorelei Thunder
“No!” Pamela had a nervous look on her face as she declined hastily. When she saw the odd looks on Kurt and Miriam’s faces, she explained, ” We’re on the Cartwright family’s turf today, and their guests are all important figures. If we get into a fight, we’ll get a bad rep.
“I mean, you don’t have to sacrifice your reputation and future because of someone like him, Mr. Donnel.”
Although Kurt smiled, a vicious look flashed across his eyes. “Fine. I won’t hit him, but I’ll disgrace him. Consider it justice for Mrs. York and Brutus.”
This time, Pamela didn’t stop him, so it was impliedly agreed. “Just wait for the good news!”
Kurt ruthlessly dashed over to Woody and said, “Woody, stop right there!”
Woody turned around and glanced at the man whom he didn’t recognize.” Who are you?”
When he had been sent to prison Kurt’s head had been bandaged and swollen. It made sense that he didn’t recognize Kurt.
Kurt leaned sideways as he lifted his finger, pointing at his head as he rolled his eyes. “Four years ago, you smashed my head with a wine bottle, and I had to be hospitalized because of you.
“Have you already forgotten me? Were the conditions in prison so wonderful that you forgot everything?”
Woody frowned a little. “Kurt?”
“That’s right! What are you doing here? I’m warning you, you should stop daydreaming. Don’t even think that you can sneak into the dinner. Why don’t you look in the mirror for once? Your clothes are so cheap! Don’t you feel ashamed at all?” Kurt mocked.
Woody spotted the two suspicious women nearby. Then, he asked, “Did Pamela tell you to come?”
“That’s right! Hey, I asked you a question. What are you doing here?” Kurt held his head high, a gleeful look on his face.
Kurt not only wanted to send Woody to jail, but he also wanted to get Woody’s woman. Kurt couldn’t contain his excitement when he thought about winning Pamela over and seeing her in ecstasy soon.
Woody retorted coldly, “That’s none of your business.” With that, he turned to leave. He felt disgusted by jerks like Kurt, and he didn’t even want to spare Kurt another glance.
“Stop right there! Do you hear me?” Kurt dashed forward and blocked Woody’s way. Then, he said in a disdainful voice, “You’re just trying to sneak into the dinner and get to know some rich people so that you’ll get closer to success, right?
“You should at least wear proper clothes. You’re dressed like a beggar, and even the waiters look better than you. Who would spare you another glance? Since I’m your senior, I’ll give you a chance. Lick my shoes!”
Kurt pointed at his shiny crocodile leather shoes, saying, “For Pamela’s sake, I can introduce you to some big shots. As for whether you can seal the deal, that’ll depend on your capabilities.
“You better get lost!” Woody’s snapped.
Kurt, who had been arrogant all this while, instantly turned pale from shock. He felt like he had been thrown into a freezer as he felt a bone-piercing chill. He couldn’t even move his limbs.
Woody’s gaze was terrifying! Woody shoved Kurt aside and strode away.
It was only then that Kurt came to his senses. He had a vile look on his face as he said through gritted teeth, “Damn you! How dare you frighten me like that! Just wait… You’ll see!”
“Mr. Donnel, what did you just say to him? Why did you let him go just like that?” Miriam ran over to ask. Pamela was hot on her heels.
Faced with the two ladies, Kurt tried to make up an excuse. “I won’t stoop to his level. I just didn’t want to waste my breath on someone like him. Just watch. He definitely won’t be able to make it past that entrance. When that happens, he’ll be so embarrassed!”
