Stella felt uneasy and wanted to break the tension between them. However, with the paparazzi hot o
their heels, she hesitated to make a move. She was wary of sparking a scandal that could send shockwaves through the stock market.
“Don’t fret,” Brian murmured when he sensed her tremble. He clasped her delicate hand with his palm.
As their fingers intertwined, Stella found herself drawn into his embrace.
“Bri…” she said hesitantly.
Brian whispered, “Keep quiet.”
Her soft and tender voice unsettled him.
“But…” Stella squirmed as she felt the heat rise to her cheeks as he drew nearer. The thin fabric separating them offered scant protection against the palpable tension between their bodies.
Stella took deep breaths, and her pulse raced as she clung to his shirt. In contrast, Brian remained
composed as he embraced her in his arms. His breath also began to quickened.
Suddenly, the car jolted violently and brought them closer together.
Stella couldn’t help but stifle a soft gasp
“Shh!” Brian covered her mouth with his hand. His lips brushed against her ear as he whispered, “Mike is
here. Don’t make a sound.”
Stella complied and refrained from speaking, though a sense of unease hung in the air,
Sneaking a glance at Brian, she observed the tension etched on his face. His veins were pulsing on his forehead as if he were battling inner demons.
Unable to maintain eye contact, Stella lowered her gaze and whispered, “Are we there yet?”
“Not yet,” Brian murmured, his eyes fixed on her. She trembled with unease and fear.
He couldn’t resist the urge and leaned in. His lips met hers to silence her endless questioning.
Stella’s throat tightened as she was swept away by his fervent kiss. It was almost savage, tinged with urgency as their lips and tongues danced together.
Stella was left dumbfounded. Why was he kissing her like this?
Struggling to catch her breath, she felt his hands on her as he greedily tasted her lips.
Brian’s kissing skills were impeccable, leaving Stella weak and breathless. As she stole a glance at him, she saw the beat in his eyes, as if he wanted to consume her entirely.
Stella’s heart skipped a beat, but then she realized something. The car had already come to a stop in the courtyard of Yolvencrest Estate, and Mike was nowhere to be seen. They had arrived home,

Taking a deep breath, Stella said, “Brian, we’re home.”
*Hmm,” Brian murmured. His expression was still enigmatic as he grabbed her head and bit her neck.
softly.
Had it not been for the interruption of Brian’s ringing phone, Stella might have succumbed to his
advances in the car.
Glancing at his phone, Brian’s expression soured at the name on the screen. Nevertheless, he answered,
Hello.”
“Brian, my stomach is hurting. I don’t know what’s wrong. Can you come over and take a look?” the voice on the other end pleaded.
Brian closed his eyes and took a deep breath to steady his emotions.
“You should ask the driver to take you to the hospital. I head over there now,” Brian stated while releasing his grip on Stella.
Stella realized it was Jessica on the other end of the call. She stole a glance at Brian.
Without a word, he adjusted his shirt. “Go upstairs and change your clothes.”
Her dress still bore the coffee stains.
Stella’s body tensed. She hadn’t expected Brian to remain composed upon receiving Jessica’s call at such a moment. Her expression twisted with bitterness as she slid off his lap and stepped out of the car.
But an inner voice begged Stella to turn back and stop Brian from leaving. She resisted at first, but then
gave in.
After a short pause, Stella turned and said, “Bri…”
Before Stella could finish speaking, Brian had already driven off into the night.
Her expression turned melancholic. A tear fell onto the grass. Then another, followed by a third tear.
Stella stood in the cold wind as tears streamed down her face.
With a call from Jessica, Brian was willing to drop everything aside and meet her. What more could Stella hope for? After all, he had loved Jessica for ten years.
Stella finally accepted reality. Wiping away her tears, she hurried upstairs, packed her bags, and left.
Meanwhile, Brian drove to the hospital. When he arrived, he found Jessica on the bed, gently touching her belly. She appeared weak..
“Brian, you’re here.” Upon catching sight of him, Jessica smiled warmly, her eyes filled with affection.
Brian glanced at Jessica and asked, ‘Does your stomach still hurt?” He sat before her, his demeanor aloof and detached.
Jessica sensed a palpable distance between them. “It doesn’t hurt anymore,” she whispered.
“What did the doctor say?”
“The doctor said the baby might have been agitated because I drank a cup of coffee in the afternoon.”
“In that case, refrain from drinking coffee in the future, Brian reminded.
“Okay.” Jessica lowered her head and appeared docile. She thought Brian would pat her head but he didn’t.
Shortly after, Brian stood up and said, “You should get some rest. I’ll look for the doctor.”
With that, Brian headed to the hospital director’s office
After pushing the door open, Brian found a doctor clad in a white coat lounging on the sofa, He crossed his legs on the coffee table and exuded a nonchalant demeanor.
When he saw Brian enter, he raised his brow and said, “Wow! What a surprise to see you!”
The doctor was Brian’s friend, Joseph Sanders, He stood up and poured Brian a cup of tea.
Brian sat on the sofa and drank a sip of tea before asking, “How’s the child?”
“Don’t worry. The child is healthy.”
“Okay.” Brian’s expression remained emotionless as he lit a cigarette and exhaled the smoke. He asked,
“How long until she gives birth?”
“She’s only three months along, so at least another six months before she can deliver.”
Brian stayed silent, his features blurred by the smoke.
Joseph Inquired, “Why are you treating her so well? Is this child really yours? Wait, three months ago, you were still in the country. Hence, this child couldn’t possibly be yours.”
Brian avoided answering the question. “Just help me take care of Jessica a while longer. I need the child
to be born safely.”
Joseph asked in confusion, “What are you up to? Jessica isn’t pregnant with your child.but you’re letting her spread rumors and making use of your reputation. Aren’t you worried your wife will be upset?”
“It doesn’t matter, I’m focused on ensuring the child is born safely.” It was clear that Brian only cared
about the outcome.
Joseph couldn’t decipher Brian’s intentions. He shook his head and said, “It’s your call. But if you end up driving your wife away, don’t come to regret it.”
Brian remained silent, his eyes obscured by smoke as he finished his cigarette and departed. Outside, he made a call. “Send some supplements to Jessica’s place.”
Jessica received the supplements half an hour later. Feeling surprised and touched, she asked Mike,
Where’s Brian?”

“Mr. Foley has returned to the company,” Mike replied.
Jessica looked slightly disappointed as she uttered, “Is Brian always so busy?”
“Yes. Mr. Foley manages the entire Foley Group. He’s very busy everyday and doesn’t have the time to
keep you company. I hope you understand, Ms. Xenos.
Jessica forced a smile and replied gently, “I’ll try to be understanding.”
