Pampered by Billionaires after Being Betrayed -
Chapter 68
Chapter 68 Private Detective
Things were getting worse in the hospital at this moment.
Nathan was surrounded by a group of people, and it was thanks to the security guards that Nathan was rescued.
Full of anger, Nathan lit a cigarette, furrowing his brow as he took a drag and exhaled white smoke.
Carol had been looking for him for a while and finally found Nathan in the smoking room. She was frantic, and replaceing Nathan felt like replaceing a savior. "Nathan, what should we do? The doctor said Sophia might not be able to keep the baby..." Impatiently, Nathan furrowed his brow. "If she can't keep it, then so be it. It's even better if there's no baby. Give her some money and let her leave."
Carol sat down next to him, grumbling irritably, "I used to think Sophia was a cultured and refined woman, so I accepted her. I hoped she would give birth to an heir, but I didn't expect her to be so useless, sigh..."
Nathan was still angry. How dare Emily's lover flaunt his presence in front of him? What infuriated him the most was that although the fugitive wore a mask, his demeanor exuded an air of nobility, as if he were a person of power.
Nathan had dealings with almost all the elites in New York City. Even if he hadn't met them directly, he knew about them. But the man he just encountered, he truly had no impression of. Could he still be an international fugitive?
If so, shouldn't he be hiding well instead of flaunting himself with a mask?
"Mom, are you sure the man who appeared at our house today is really a fugitive?"
Carol was taken aback. "He said so himself, and besides, he wears a mask in broad daylight. Who wouldn't dare to show his face? Either he's a fugitive, or... so ugly that he can't be seen." Nathan's expression didn't change much. He extinguished the cigarette and stood up to leave.
"Where are you going, Nathan?"
"I'm going back to the office."
Carol quickly stopped him. "Sophia is still here."
The nurse outside was loudly calling out, "Is Sophia's husband here? Sophia's husband?"
Seeing that Nathan had no intention of leaving, Carol had no choice but to go out herself. "We're here!"
The nurse looked annoyed. "Sophia's life is in danger in the ward, why did you run so far... Here's the consent form for the blood transfusion. We urgently transferred blood from another hospital." Carol didn't accept it or even look at the form, just asking, "Nurse, if she receives a blood transfusion, can her baby be saved?"
"It's already so critical, and you're still thinking about the baby? It's more important to save the adult's life first!"
"Hey, what's with your attitude? I'm the baby's grandmother. Can't I ask about the child's condition?"
Nathan walked out, taking the consent form directly from the nurse's hand. "I'll pay the bill. Is that enough?"
The nurse nodded. "Yes, I'll arrange for the blood transfusion immediately. The doctor will do their best to save both the mother and the baby, but it's been delayed for so long, and the situation is indeed critical..." She hurried off in the direction of the emergency room.
Carol, nervous, prayed, "Oh God, please bless my grandchild."
"Mom, I want to talk to you about something."
Carol said, "Don't even think about getting back together with Emily. She brought her lover to our house today. What else do you want her to do? Even if you don't want Sophia anymore, wait until she gives birth to the baby, then kick her out. You two haven't registered your marriage, so whenever you want her to leave, she has to leave."
Nathan gritted his teeth. "I don't want anyone in my life except Emily!"
"My foolish son, the Reed family is also an elite family in society. Why do you have to like Emily? If you're willing, how many women would be willing to bear your children! Stop being foolish." Nathan picked up his coat from the side. "Mom, please stop. I like Emily, and I must have her. Otherwise, I won't be able to swallow this anger! I'm leaving."
"Hey, what if something happens with Sophia?" Carol urgently shouted.
Nathan paused his steps. "I've already hired a maid."
Carol urgently yelled, "You can leave, but you're not allowed to go replace that little bitch Emily, do you hear me? Nathan! Are you listening to me?" Nathan had already left the hospital in long strides.
Ring ring-
The phone rang.
Nathan glanced at it, and it was from the private detective agency.
He answered, "Do you have news?"
"Yes, Mr. Reed, I've sent some information I found to the lobby of your company. Do you have time to come down and meet?" "Sure, I'll come over now."
Twenty minutes later, Nathan met the private detective in the lobby of his company.
He recognized Nathan at a glance and stood up to greet him. "Mr. Reed, I'm here." Nathan glanced at him, furrowing his brow as he spoke in a low voice, "Follow me." In the CEO's office of Reed Group.
The private detective placed several photos on Nathan's desk. "During this period, we found three men who had close contact with your wife, Emily. One is Allen Parker, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment, the other is his brother, Jackson, a renowned car designer, and the third is this mysterious person wearing amask. The information on the first two individuals is relatively easy to replace, but the last person is extremely mysterious. We've been investigating him for a long time, but currently, there are no leads. The only thing we can confirm is that he either has a close relationship with Allen Parker, or he is Allen Parker himself."
The private detective pointed to one of the photos with a pen. "This photo was captured from the surveillance video of the road traffic. This mysterious person drove a car pick up Emily from the entrance of the car exhibition, and we've investigated that the car belongs to Allen Parker."
Nathan carefully examined the photos, then chuckled coldly. "I'll give you an extra million. Go and replace out the identity of the man with the mask for me." "Understood."
