I Am, Nothing More

I am but an ash

Planted in the dirt

Growth deceives the death inside

Buried in the earth

I am but a breath

Pausing in my sleep

The empty jar, forgive me now

Leave me to my dream

Where happiness exists

Where meek is pure in heart

This dream of mine insists

To wake and play the part

And...

It’s dark...

I am but a tree

Standing in the wind

My leaves fall softly

Suffering within

I am but a thought

Cherished once before

Torn like a photo

Now I’m nothing more

I am but a watch

Frozen back in time

When I feel the touches

My gears switch on rewind

I am and I am

Closing one more door

Ending what I’ve seen

Now it’s nothing more
