“What?” She asked, “I thought you needed to give them the sample.”

When Corentin dragged her into the designated washroom, she immediately realized what Corentinwas thinking and swiftly turned to escape.

Corentin stepped on the door and slammed it shut. “We are alone here. There's no need to beembarrassed.”

“Do this yourself, Corentin Lloyd!” She roared.

“I never do it myself.” He pulled her closer. “You are my wife, so of course, you should be the onewho does it.”

Ashlynn desperately wanted to escape.

In the end, the results came out and Corentin was fertile.

Ashlynn had merely wished to challenge Corentin, and never truly thought that he was infertile,since he had only gotten another woman pregnant a few months ago.

Simply saying that their genes were a mismatch was hardly a reasonable explanation as she waspregnant once when she was married to Salvatore.

She had thought that Corentin would be too proud to undergo the fertility test and had notexpected him to actually go through with it.

“Explain.” In the car, Corentin showed her the medical report.

“Explain what? Even if the medical reports look fine, maybe the timing just isn't right? “She refusedto mention that she was taking contraceptive pills.

He remained quiet and stared at her intently as though he was trying to determine if she was lying.She turned around and stared outside the window.

“You've killed your own child. I'm sure the gods saw fit to not give you another one.”

He smiled evilly. “Let's try, then.”

Her blood ran cold as she knew that “trying’ meant she would have to suffer.

The butler entered the study room where Cory was practicing his calligraphy.

“You knew that I don't like to be disturbed when I'm practicing,” Cory said.

"Yes, but Sir... Tina lost her child. They said that she had an accident and the child was gone beforeshe even got to the hospital,” the butler said.

Cory stilled. “An accident that cost her the baby despite she’s already five months. into thepregnancy?”

"Yes, sir.”

“She wasn't meant to keep the child, after all. It's not a bad thing, though. At least I won't have toapologize to the Hiltons about this.” Cory had intended to apologize to the Hilton Family after thechild was born.

“This one might be gone, but Ms. Thompson is still with Mr. Corentin and it's just a matter of timebefore she gets pregnant,” the butler consoled.

"She hasn't gotten pregnant so far, so I doubt that she will. Besides, I prefer Meredith to be the oneto bear Corentin’s child. Their children are the legitimate ones and any other children birthed byother women are nothing but an addition to the family three. “Cory wanted nothing but to tightenthe alliance with the Hilton Family.

“Mr. Corentin doesn't seem to like her, though...”

“I don't like that Ashlynn, but since Corentin seems to like her, I can ignore her as long as shebehaves herself. Even if Corentin doesn’t care about the engagement with Meredith, I can't just lethim do whatever he wants. It's a shame that Tina lost the child, though...”

“You will have grandchildren as long as Mr. Corentin is willing to obey you,” the butler said.However, Corentin had made it clear that he was not at all interested in Meredith and no one couldmake him do anything against his will.
