Chapter 1084

Anne heard the sound of something being set onto the ground. She had not expected Cory tocome all the way from Athetin as he had a horrible relationship with Nigel and had not mourned orappeared at all after Nigel's death.

Anne had accepted the fact that only her and her children would come to the graves by now.

Cory stared at his eldest son's grave and sighed. “Nigel was my first-born and I was so proud on theday he was born. I had never imagined that he would break ties with me when he grew up, and Iwas hurt for a really long time.”

"How could Dad accept all the shady business you were running?” Anne still remembered the thingsAshlynn had told her and was still having a hard time believing all the inhumane acts the LloydFamily benefited from. “You should be proud of having such a kind-hearted son, instead of feelingashamed. I support my dad's decision, so I am on his side.”

By stating that she was on the same side as her father, she was declaring that she would never standwith the Lloyd Family's values and she hoped that her grandfather would understand that as soon aspossible.

“I know, and I can understand.” Cory nodded. “Everything that the Lloyd Family does is legal, andyou don't have to worry about that. I do want to accept you back into the family as mygranddaughter and to have you included in our family tree. That's my way of respecting your dad aswell.”

Anne was shocked.

Ever since her father had passed away, Cory had not contacted her at all, so she could notunderstand why Cory had made a sudden appearance at her father's grave, let alone asking for herpermission to include her in the family.

She turned to face the graves, hoping for some sort of guidance from her parents.

“Should I say yes? I know that I don't have any family left. He is still my grandfather and he isprobably here out of guilt toward my dad,’ she thought. “Dad, what would you have done if youwere still alive?”

Anne knew that whatever she decided to do, her father would support her

unconditionally as he loved her with all his heart.

Cory picked up Anne's cane and handed it to her.

Anne grabbed the cane tightly at the realization that Cory had found out about her”

loss of vision and instantly felt slightly embarrassed.

"What did the doctor that Corentin found for you said?”

“Did he come all the way because he found out about my eyes?’ She thought.

“The doctor prescribed me some new medicines and said that I should recover soon.

"Good. I've consulted the doctor before coming. You lost your vision mainly due to a brain injury soyou should recover in no time,” Cory said. “Let me accompany you down the stairs.” He thenproceeded to help her down the stairs.

Anne had a hard time adjusting to having someone Cory's age take care of her, but since heseemed to be doing so willingly, she decided to simply let him as a way to bond.

They arrived before the stairs and were about to walk down when Cory glanced down and said,"Anthony is here.”

Anne stilled, before proceeding to walk down the stairs.

Anthony walked up and grabbed Anne's cane without her permission, before taking her soft handinto his palm. He nodded at Cory and said, “I didn't know that you would be here as well, ElderLloyd. Did Anne cause you any trouble?”

His intimidating aura overpowered Cory and Cory could not help but cower slightly even though itwas the second time he had seen Anthony.

"How could she ever be in trouble? I'm her grandfather and I am more than happy to care for her,”Cory said kindly. “I came here to visit my son's grave and check on Anne. I have been so worriedever since I heard that she lost her eyesight.”

“It's just temporary. You don't have to worry.” Anthony helped Anne down the stairs,
