Chapter 1096

The butler was stunned when he saw Corentin. “You are home so early, Mr. Lloyd.”

“Yeah.” Corentin went upstairs and into the bedroom, before entering the walk-in closet with a clearintention.

He stopped before the shelf and ran his hand on Ashlynn’s clothes, before replaceing something insidethe pocket.

He took out the small jar of pills and his expression darkened as he read the indications on the jar.He narrowed his amber—colored eyes and tightened his grip on the jar until it shattered in his hand. The lid flew off and a few of the pills fell onto the ground.

"You sure are good at hiding this, my dear Ashlynn. Good for you!" He thought as he considered ahundred ways to make Ashlynn suffer for this.

In the end, he came up with an idea and exchanged all the pills inside the jar with vitamin, beforeplacing it back into the pocket, knowing that he would be surprised with a child soon.

Vitamin looked similar to contraceptive pills and Ashlynn was completely unaware that she hadbeen taking vitamin instead. She continued to take one pill behind Corentin’s back every time theywere intimate and felt reassured by it.

After lunch, Anne stayed in the living room with her triplets.

Chris sat on the couch next to her with a laptop on his lap, its screen big enough to cover his entireface. Charlie was more active and was waving his toy knife and gun around, while Chloe sat next toAnne with a book in hand and read it aloud for Anne.

Mia brought some fruits over and placed them on the coffee table, before placing a few pieces on asmaller plate and handing it to Anne. “Mrs. Marwood, have some fruits.”

“I don't want it,” Anne refused.

“Are you bored, Mrs. Marwood? Maybe you should take the triplets out for a walk,” Mia suggested. Before Anne could respond, Charlie came over and said, “Mama, we can take you to get cake!”

“I like cake!”

“Mama likes cake!”

Anne chuckled, “I think you three are the ones who want to go out. Have you forgotten that youneed to take your afternoon nap?”

“We want to buy cakes for you, Mama...” Chloe set her book down and threw herself into Anne'sarms

Since there was nothing much to do, Anne agreed. The children used to go outside to play and eversince she had lost her eyesight, they had been forced to stay indoors.

The triplets were overjoyed and leaped around Anne, before taking her hand to lead the way.

The driver and nanny accompanied them to the cafe.

Anne and Anthony had brought the triplets to the same cafe before back when she could still see.“Mama, take it slow. There are stairs, so follow us!” Charlie kept his hand on Anne.

Anne held Charlie's hand with one hand, and held her cane with another.

Despite how tiny Charlie was, his presence was still reassuring and heart-warming.

Once they entered the cafe, the triplets did everything for Anne. They led Anne to a table to takeher seat, Chloe stayed with Anne, while Charlie and Chris went to buy cakes and juice in an orderlyfashion.

Other customers stared at the toddlers dazedly, all the while thinking, “What was I doing when I wastheir age? All I did was cry all day and pee my pants. Those two look like they are just two, yet theyare doing what adults could do. How impressive!

Everyone had their eyes on Charlie and Chris when they took the cakes back to the table, all itchingto help them with steadying the tray. However, the two seemed so focused that they unknowinglymelted the hearts of many.

Charlie and Chris held one cake each and since they could not carry the rest, the waitress helped tocarry everything else to the table.

*The waitress, too, was enticed by the triplets and distinctly remembered them as they had been inthe cafe before.

“It's a good thing that scary man isn't here, or we will have to clear the cafe again,’ the waitressthought.

Before long, Charlie took out a credit card from his bag and commanded, “Clear the cafe!”

"Huh?" The waitress gaped, while the other customers were at a loss.

Anne immediately stopped Charlie. “No, don't listen to him!” For a moment, she could not help butfeel defeated at how Charlie had taken after his father.

“Please enjoy your food, then!” The waitress said politely, before leaving

Charlie placed a piece of cake in front of Anne and handed her a fork, while Chris placed a straw inthe juice, before handing the glass to Anne. Chloe, on the other hand, scooped a spoonful of cake. The other customers had not been able to take their eyes off the triplets ever since they enteredand stared at Chole, wondering if their hearts would stop at the adorable scene of Chloe stuffingher mouth with cake.

Once Chloe successfully had a piece of the cake on the spoon, she moved it closer to Anne's lipsand said, “Mama, say “ah~"1"

All jaws dropped as they screamed internally, “Ahhh!!! She gave the first bite to her mom! So sweet! She's an angel!”

Anne took a bite of the cake and said, “Hm. It's strawberry—flavored. It tastes nice.

“Hehe!” Chloe was happy.

"You don't have to feed me. I can eat on my own.” Anne did not want them to focus on feeding herand forget about themselves.

“Mama, try mine!” Charlie insisted on feeding Anne, followed by Chris.

Anne took a bite of each of their cakes and guessed the flavor. Once they finished the cakes anddrinks, the four left, unaware of the eyes that followed them. After all, not all children could be asadorable and sweet as the triplets.

Once they were out of the cafe, Anne asked, “Shall we take a walk in the mall?”

"Yay!" The triplets were more than happy to spend time with their mother.

As the mall was not far away, there was no need for them to take the car, so the four walked over.Just as they arrived at the empty field in front of the mall, they heard a familiar voice.

"What a coincidence, Anne.” Bianca walked over.

“I thought you can't see. Why are you at a mall?” Meredith was with Bianca as well.

Anne was shocked at the realization that Meredith was in Luton with Bianca.

“Is there a rule that people who can't see cannot go to a mall?” Chloe argued innocently.

Meredith was instantly rendered speechless, not expecting someone so young to be so sharp.“There are a lot of people inside the mall. You three are too small to protect your mom,” Biancareminded.

“We can protect Mama!” Charlie protested.
