Chapter 1254

Listening to the sound of the car engine leaving, her tears poured down.

Ashlynn had no idea what Corentin was going to do.

It was not until she went to bed at night that she received a call from Anne. She adjusted her moodbefore answering, “Hi, Anne.”

“My uncle's marriage to Meredith was called off?” Anne asked.

“This... 1 don't know about this.” Ashlynn was surprised.

“I heard it by accident. The Lloyd Group made it public. I thought you knew. What happened? Wereyou involved?” Anne asked.

“I... the child is gone. The Hilton family did it. That's why Corentin went berserk.” Ashlynn did nothide it from her.

“The child... cheer up, take good care of your body. You can have more kids in the future.”

“Not anymore. I didn’t want to have Corentin’s child, and it worked out well for me...” Ashlynn saidwith certainty.

She would not tell anyone that when she slept alone at night, she secretly grieved over the loss ofher child

She did not dare to cry.

Anne knew that even if Ashlynn was nonchalant, she was probably hurting deep inside.

“The Hilton family shouldn't mess with Corentin. He can do horrible things to them,” Ashlynn saidHe had no weaknesses and was scared of nothing.”

Just as Salvatore was afraid of nothing, he was a monster that would not even blink if a knife gotstuck in his body.

“Forget him. What you have to do now is to not think about anything and take care of your body.Do you understand me?” Anne was worried about her.

“I'm fine, don't worry about me. How are you doing?”

“Not bad.” Although Anne had returned to the Royal Mansion and seemed to be back to normalwith Anthony, the uneasiness in her heart was more pronounced.

It seemed abnormal for someone as cunning as Anthony not to do anything.

They chatted for a while on the phone, then hung up.

They felt powerless.

Anne could not help Ashlynn, and Ashlynn could not help Anne either.

After Corentin told the Lloyd Group's public relations department to send out the

news of the cancellation of the marriage, the Hiltons and the Lloyds were caught off guard.

After seeing the news, Beth threw down the pen in her hand angrily.

She stood up, arms crossed, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, facing the nightoutside illuminated by street lamps.

Someone knocked on the study door.

“Come in."

Aunt Cher came in with a small bowl. “Mrs. Hilton, why don’t you drink some tea and go to bedearly?”

Beth was distraught. “I can't sleep even if I drink tea.”

“You don’t look good. You are too worried. No matter how complicated the company’s affairs are,you still have to sleep!” Aunt Cher had a smile on her face.

“When did you see me worrying so much about the company?”

“Is it because of... little missy?” Aunt Cher took an educated guess.

“Corentin canceled the marriage with the Hiltons.”

“That's too arrogant of him! What does he think we are, beggars?” Aunt Cher could not believe it.
