Chapter 1269

Jeremy did not answer. He pulled out his phone and was about to call the doctor.

Beth regained her consciousness again. She was having a meltdown, and her tears were streamingnon-stop.

“Beth, are you feeling unwell? Don't freak me out!” Marshall hugged her worriedly and rubbed herback. "Did Jeremy piss you off again? I will discipline him later!"

Jeremy stood in the same spot, unbudged.

Beth did not say a word, and her tears kept streaming down.

“What is going on?” Marshall got flustered.

Then, he noticed Beth's shivering hand that was holding the paper. Her hand was trembling non—stop like a flour sieve.

Full of questions, Marshall took the paper and saw that it was a paternity test result.

However, he could not react when he saw Ashlynn and Beth's names on top, with the results on thebottom. “What... What is this?"

Beth was caught up in both agony and joy at the same time. She could not say anything. Jeremyexplained, “This is the paternity testing of mom and Ashlynn. Dad, Ashlynn is my sister.”

"Wha... What?" Marshall let go of Beth and stood up.

“There is a crescent-shaped birthmark on Ashlynn’s back, and it is blood red in color. I rememberedMom telling me about it and started feeling suspicious. Then, I decided to do a paternity test.”Jeremy was much calmer than his parents.

In fact, when he first received the report in the hospital, he could not stay calm too.

It was a kind of joy that was too intense that he could not handle it.

Marshall could barely stand still. He supported himself against the couch and sat down slowly.

He looked at the report repeatedly. “Is this... Is this real? My daughter... My daughter is found. She isAshlynn? Little Crescent?”

He looked at Beth.

Beth held her chest painfully. “Ashlynn is my daughter. What did I do to her? What did I do!” Shebanged her fist onto her chest, wishing to knock herself dead.

Marshall grabbed her hand. His eyes were watery too. “Beth...”

"She was laying in the operation theater, her face was so pale, while I forced her into the abortion,oh, God!" How ruthlessly Beth had treated Ashlynn back then. That was exactly how much regretand guilt she felt right now. The scene of Ashlynn in the operation theater was cutting right throughher heart. “Marshall, Marshall, ah! How can I live!”

Marshall was also caught up in sorrow.

Of course, he knew what Beth did and was secretly supportive.

Jeremy kept quiet the whole time.

“Beth, you did not know about it. You should not blame yourself too much...” Marshall consoled her."Who was it... Who was it that dumped my little crescent in the slum? I will make them pay for it!"Beth was in pain.

Marshall sighed heavily.

It had already been two decades. If that were possible to be found out, they would have alreadyfound out about it.

"Our daughter is finally back. We should spoil her even more and protect her so that she will not bebullied,” Marshall said.

“No!” Beth was freaked out. “We cannot tell her the truth, we cannot... The things that

I did, she will detest me for it! I am afraid, please don't tell her..."

She was known as the iron lady at work, but she was a normal mother too.

Losing her daughter was a scar that she could never recover from.

She was so near yet so far from her daughter...

“Mom, we will have to tell her someday. Do you plan to hide this forever?” Jeremy disagreed.Marshall said, “I understand how your mother feels. Let her process this first!”

Beth then continued to wail.

Ashlynn was completely unaware of the plot twist that happened on this end.

She realized that some things were a little difficult to deal with, but they were never thisuncomfortable.

Her identity was so awkward

Especially since Aunt Cher looked like a vulture waiting to swallow its prey right down its throat. This reminded Ashlynn about the evil people that were often by the side of evil

witches.

The car came back when she was sitting on the staircase looking bored into the faraway.
