She sat up in exhaustion and bit her lips as tears scrolled down her cheeks before she realized it.After sitting in bed for a few minutes, she struggled to get out of bed and headed to the bathroom.She had her lunch on the balcony and remained there to look at the scenery afterward. Anne took astroll on the second floor and realized that all the balconies were sealed with glasses, so she wouldnot even have the choice to jump out.

Anthony was going to lock her here until he said otherwise, but she was clueless as to how hewould be satisfied.

Her heart sank as she recalled all the things he had done in the past.

At dusk, she jolted in fear and instinctively wanted to run away from the hell that approached whenshe heard a car stopping outside the mansion. However, she could not bring herself to move at allas Anthony's shadow loomed over her.

He wrapped one arm around her slim shoulders and gave her a kiss. “How do you feel today? Ichecked in the morning and you weren't hurt.”

Anne was unaware of being “checked’. She was far too exhausted and would not feel a thing even ifhe tossed her into the lake.

Realizing what Anthony meant, she paled and glanced at him gingerly. “Can't you let me rest? Youcan't keep doing this...”

"Why not?” He asked.

Anne was at the brink of breaking down in tears at his question.

He caressed her cheek and muttered, “I will have to imprint this lesson into your head so that youwon't make the same mistake again.”

She jumped to her feet and backed away while shaking her head in tears. “No...no more...punish mein another way. I can kneel, or you can starve me or chain me up, just stop this. Anthony, just dosomething else or I'm going to die..."

He stalked up to her and grabbed her by the wrist. “I wouldn't want you to die. I just want you toobey.”

“I will. I will obey from now on!” Anne promised.

She was merely human and being relentlessly tortured in bed was far too much for her to bear.

“If you mean that, you wouldn't be fighting me right now.” He narrowed his eyes obsessively.Devastated, she lost all her strength and collapsed, but was caught by Anthony before she hit theground.

“Be a good girl. Let's go eat. You won't have the strength for tonight if you don't eat.”

Anne was taken to the dining room and no matter how hard she begged, Anthony did not waver.“Why... She thought. “What have I done to deserve this?"

Another night passed and the servants came knocking nervously when Anne did not wake up atnoon, fearing that Anne might have died.

Anne was conscious and could hear the servants knocking on the door, but she refused to respondAs expected, the servants hurried to contact Anthony.

Once silence returned to the room, Anne drifted back to sleep.

After some time, she was lifted from the bed and without opening her eyes, she knew who wascarrying her from the soul-crushing presence she felt.
