Chapter 1479

Oliver tensed at the sudden change in Anthony's mood. He had entered the office to report. theprogress of the operation and had fallen silent after the phone call.

It did not take Oliver much time to figure out who had called. Since Anthony mentioned the ticket,Oliver assumed that Anne was leaving.

“Get a flight ticket,” Anthony commanded coldly without an expression.

"Of course. I will get to it right away.” Oliver took out his phone and completed the purchase withina minute. “Should I have this sent to Mrs. Marwood?"

“Send it to me.” Anthony picked up his jacket and left the office.

“Yes, sir.” Oliver knew where Anthony was headed without having to ask.

Anne did not know if Anthony was going to send her off and returned to the mansion, only to bestunned by the sight of the black Rolls Loyce parked outside the mansion as soon as she got out ofthe taxi. When she saw Anthony walking out, her heart sank in bitterness.

She felt completely different after meeting Lucia and was slightly disgusted by the thought thatAnthony was seeing Lucia.

Lucia was her friend, and she could not help but wonder if Anthony ever felt strange for dating herfriend.

She was absorbed in her thoughts when Anthony arrived before her and stared into her eyes. “Whathappened? Is something wrong?”

Anne sobered and regained her composure. “Nothing. I just want to leave now. The kids..."

“It's fine. You can call them after you land to let them know when you will be coming back. It shouldbe fine,” Anthony consoled her.

In truth, he wanted to know what happened for Anne to be in such a sudden hurry to leave. He hadthought that after sharing a bed the night before, Anne would stay.

"Are you mad about what happened last night?” Anthony asked.

Not wanting to discuss this, Anne asked, “Do you want to drop me off? Will you leave once we areat the airport?”

“You don’t want me to send you to where you stay?” he said with a dark look in his eyes.

“It's not necessary. Let's go. I don't have much belongings.” Anne did not wish to stay any longer.

“I told the servants to pack for you. They packed some food for you as well.”

On the way to the airport, silence fell over the car, and Anne kept her eyes trained outside thewindow, refusing any form of interaction

“Will you call me when you get there?” Anthony focused on Anne the entire time despite beingthoroughly ignored.

Anne had never heard Anthony speaking in such a lowly tone when he had always been demeaning. She wanted to refuse but decided not to cause too much tension between

them.

".. SUre."

“Good.”

Despite what had been agreed, tension continued to rise.

Anne ignored the atmosphere since Anthony did not stop her from leaving.

When she got past the security, she stopped herself from looking back until she arrived at thelounge.

Anthony was nowhere to be found, and she could not put a finger on how she felt; it was a mixtureof disappointment, bitterness and misery.

In the end, she could never move forward with Anthony because there were far too manyunresolved issues.

She was in a hurry to leave because she needed time to calm down and once she accomplishedthat, she would always return to her children.

Just as she tried to clear her mind, she heard a familiar voice behind her.

“Anne.”
