'Why is he here?!" She thought. She glanced behind Anthony and saw Oliver stepping in after him,but was still confused as to what was happening. 'Was Oliver really here for work?"

"Who are you suing for defamation?" Anthony questioned sharply and the temperature of the roominstantly dropped following his appearance.

The manager didn't know who had walked in, but was instinctively terrified of Anthony'sintimidating presence.

"This is the CEO of the Archduke Group, Mr. Marwood," Oliver explained.

The manager had obviously heard of the company before, but he had not expected for someonethat powerful to appear in his office. He quickly recovered from the initial shock and said, "Pleasetake a seat! I didn't know that Mr. Marwood was coming. I'm the manager of Hallmark Hospital,John Walker."

Anthony walked past Anne with a cold expression and sat down with his legs crossed.

Not daring to take his seat, the manager asked gingerly, "Do you want some tea, Mr. Marwood? Ihave the finest tea here, let me-"

"What's going on?" Anthony asked again impatiently.

"Just one of our patients trying to cause a scene. It's nothing. Every hospital has to deal with thissort of person from time to time. We will handle it with care, Mr. Marwood," the manager explained."Carry on." Anthony raised his arm and Oliver immediately presented him with a cigarette. "Can Ismoke here?"

"Of course!" The manager nodded.

Anne was shocked by just how power was capable of bending all rules.

Instead of lighting the cigarette, Anthony kept the unlit cigarette between his fingers and said,"Don't you know that smoking is not permitted in a hospital? You don't really seem to know how todo your job, huh?"

The manager remained frozen and panicked as he could not read what Anthony was trying to do.He changed the subject to prove his worth and said, "This patient got pregnant even though she'ssingle and came to our hospital to get an abortion. She is now here saying that the pregnancy wasnever terminated. Isn't that funny? Young people these days really have no decency. They just getpregnant carelessly and decide to come here to try and scam the hospital into paying them off.Their parents must have not taught them right!"

Anthony stared at Anne intently. "Indeed."

The manager seemed glad that he had reached a consensus with such a powerful man, while Annesimply remained quiet with a cold expression. She suppressed all emotions that were boiling withinher and realized that this was not a good time for her to seek justice, so she turned to leave.

Oliver stopped her on her path before she even reached the door.

She scowled in annoyance. "Why are you in my way? Get away."

"There are bodyguards out there, so you won't be able to leave even if I get out of your way,” Oliverexplained in a matter-of-fact tone.

Anne turned around and trembled when she looked at the man sitting. "Anthony Marwood, whatare you trying to do?"

"You are the one who came here to get rid of my child. What do you think I'm doing?" He stared ather with his dark, brooding eyes.

The manager instantly lost all strength of his legs and fell onto the ground. He tried to get up, butcould not no matter how hard he tried.

"If you can't get up, you might as well keep kneeling,” Anthony said in a cold voice.

The manager stayed still. He had not known that Anne was pregnant with Anthony's child and outof fear of the consequences, he hastily explained, "We didn't perform the surgery on her. We onlygave her some medication that would give her an illusion that she's getting her menstruation andsent her home. We didn't do her surgery here."

"Weren't you saying that you did the surgery? Why would you do that? Who told you to do it?"Anne questioned sharply.

The manager's eyes darted around as he contemplated if he should tell the truth. In the end, hedecided to confess, but exclude his involvement in the matter. "I didn't know about this, but now Iremember something after hearing what Ms. Vallois has to say. One of our doctors suddenly wentand bought a house with a one-off payment. I was quite envious and coming to think of it, it makessense that he was bribed! Don't worry, Mr. Marwood, I will be sure to get to the bottom of this!""Call the doctor here," Oliver said.

"Of course!" The manager crawled to the desk to get his phone and called the doctor.
