Chapter 461

Anne was afraid of his unpredictable temperament and was worried that he would see through herplans, so she said, "If it were not for you, I would not have fallen down from the bed. It is fine if youdid not like what I said, but you threw me out. That was violent."

Anthony's face looked displeased.

Anne then said, "Can you give me some painkillers? It's unbearable..."

“Bear it."

"Is this something to be borne? My back is burning.” Anne could not breathe evenly. She sawAnthony's cold face keeping quiet and pondered what she should do. "Are you really not going tosend me away? There's no one that can enter this place. Who would take care of me? You?"

“I am on leave these two days."

Anne was taken aback. Did he really plan to take care of me?

Could she reject it?

Anthony coldly locked his gaze onto Anne's face. "Why? Any objection?"

"No." Anne did not dare to admit it.

Anthony placed his laptop down, stood up, and walked out.

Anne noticed that Anthony was limping slightly.

What happened? Did he get numb after sitting for so long?

The pain on her back made her take a deep breath.

It was a numbing pain

She regretted it so much.

She spent so much effort but still could not make it out. Instead, she was trapped in bed because ofthe injuries.

In the afternoon, Anthony came in during lunch with a tray. He was still limping as he walked.Anne could not help but ask, "What happened to your legs?" After all, it was not natural that his legswere still numb after so long.

Anthony only threw her a cold look and did not say anything.

Anne was not entertained, so she did not ask anything more.

Limping? Even if his legs were broken, it had nothing to do with her!

Except that... Her body was in pain when she moved. How should she eat?

She watched as Anthony sat down on the bed, holding the cutlery, and sent food to her mouth.Anne was stunned. She could not believe her eyes.

“Open up," Anthony ordered.

Anne opened her mouth, accepting the gesture.

One mouthful by another.

Anthony's cold malicious face made it look like he was feeding her poison.

Perhaps it was because of the pain. Anne did not really have an appetite. She frowned and refusedto eat more after a while.

"It hurts..."

Anthony's gaze fell upon Anne's forehead, which was covered in sweat because of the pain, and fellsilent.

He kept the cutlery away and went out.

Anne was replaceing it uncomfortable to be lying on her belly the whole time, so she propped herselfsideways using her hand. "Ah... It hurts..."

Could she fall asleep tonight?

She tried to take a nap in the afternoon, but it was impossible to fall asleep.

Not sure where Anthony went, but he did not return after feeding Anne lunch.

Someone knocked on the door. Anne had a hunch that the person who knocked on the door wasnot Anthony.

It turned out to be Kathryn.

“How are you feeling?" Kathryn asked.

"In pain.” Anne took a deep breath. "Can you prescribe me some painkillers? i

"Painkillers are nothing good. It's better not to take them. I will apply some anesthesia to yourwounds. You will feel much better.” Kathryn said and opened her first aid kit to apply somemedicine to her. It was all on the surface.

Anne indeed felt better after applying the anesthesia.

“Can I keep applying this? I worry that I will not be able to fall asleep at night.”

Sure,” Kathryn replied.

That way, Anne felt much better.

“It was Mr. Manwood who called me, asking me to replace a way to kill the pain. I did not expect him to care about you so much,”Kathryn said.

“What? I only ended up this way because of him." Anne was not happy.

Fine, she planned for this, but she could not admit this.

"I think he did not want this to happen and felt guilty about it.”

Guilty? You really don't understand Anthony.” Anne rebutted, disagreeing with Kathryn.

"If he really deliberately did this, his legs would not have been injured. He must have seen you injured and ignored the glass piecesby his feet and stepped right onto them. After all, a smart person like Anthony would not have ignored dangerous situations,”Kathryn said.
