Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies -
Chapter 594
Chapter 594
After getting out of the car, she almost ran into others when she hurried toward the restaurant. Sheignored the person she bumped into and the pain on her body as her eyes darted around.
"Ma'am, we are closed," the restaurant manager whom she bumped into said.
“Where are they? This isn't possible. He said here!” She mumbled in disbelief. "Where are the privaterooms? Are there customers in the private rooms? Do you know Anthony Marwood? He's definitelyhere!"
"With three children?" The manager asked.
She froze, before nodding frantically. "Yeah. Three children! Where are they?"
"Mr. Marwood reserved the whole place and brought them here for barbeque, and then they left,”the manager said with a smile. "It's a surprise that Mr. Marwood would be seen eating barbeque.Maybe he's here because his kids like it, which is proof of how good our grill is!"
Anne did not care about how good the food was and was instantly in despair.
Why did she have to follow Tommy and return home so late?
She stumbled out of the restaurant, terrified and distraught, before getting into a taxi to head to theRoyal Mansion.
Anne tried to guess what Anthony was thinking on her way there, wondering why he had suddenlydecided to let her see the children and whether it was because of the gathering they had at noon. However, Anthony sounded so determined and cruel at the time. If she thought that there washope, she would have waited at home instead of going outside.
The car arrived before the Royal Mansion, and the lighting of the mansion was brighter than the lasttime she visited, but her heart still sank at the sight.
When she saw Hayden, she asked, "Where's Anthony?"
"Mr. Marwood is in the study room, but-" Before Hayden could finish, Anne ran towards the studyroom and stopped right before the door instead of barging in recklessly.
She bit on her lip and felt all strength draining from her legs, not from all the running, but from feartoward Anthony's intimidating presence that was obvious even with the door between them.
She contemplated how she could explain herself, took a few deep breaths to steady herself, beforeknocking on the door gently.
"Come in," Anthony's voice pierced through the door.
She pursed her lips and pushed the door open.
Anthony was sitting before his desk and handling paperwork of the Archduke Group; his expressiondarkened when he saw the person walking in.
Anne forced herself to march forward despite the chilling atmosphere.
"I'm sorry. I only saw your message at eight, otherwise I would have been there.”
'l thought that you really can't survive without your children. Was that all just an act?” He askedcoldly.
"No!" She frantically attempted to explain herself, “I... 1 was in a bad mood and I was in a bad shapephysically, too. I laid down on my bed... and I don't even know when I've fallen asleep or passed out.By the time I woke up, it was almost eight.”
She had not lied as she had recently been discharged from the hospital and she knew that it wouldbe more believable if she mixed the truth with her lie.
Anne knew that she was as pale as a ghost at the moment.
Without a word, Anthony studied her sharply.
“Anthony...” She took a few steps forward until she was right in front of the desk. "It's my fault, but I didn'tdo it on purpose. I regret it so much. I would have gone to the restaurant if I didn't pass out. I just didn't...didn't think you would message me after how mad I made you..." She mumbled pathetically.
I would have never asked you to go there if the kids hadn't been so insistent on seeing you,” he saidexpressionlessly and paused, before continuing, "come here."
She walked to stand by his side.
"On your knees."
She hesitated for a moment, before kneeling and placing both her hands on her lap, with Anthony's thighat her eye level
Certain traumatizing memories were brought up by the sight and she felt chills down her spine.
