Chapter 735

She was only sixteen at the time. Even though she lived in a slum where people were impolite andthe environment was dirty, she was still kind and naive.

For a long time after, she still regretted meeting Salvatore.

She had no idea that he was born with the blood of the devil...

After clearing her doubts, Ashlynn returned to Luton.

She continued working, treating the incident as a small episode in her life that had nothing to dowith her.

The officer also said he was just someone who looked alike...

The next day when she went to work, Ken asked her to deliver documents to Anne.

She knocked on the door and went in. She saw that a guest was there.

Ashlynn was once again shocked when she saw the guest's face. Her heart almost stopped.Corentin gave her a nod.

Noticing their interaction, Anne asked, “Do you know each other?”

Ashlynn lost her ability to speak and did not know what to say.

Corentin was much calmer. “I went to the hospital the day before yesterday, and my car almost hither.” After saying that, he slightly turned his face in Ashlynn’s direction. “I didn't expect her to beyour assistant. The world is really small.”

“Is everything all right?” Anne asked.

She still took care of her new assistant well because she was quite nice. She completed all herresponsibilities neatly and efficiently.

“Mes. Vallois, thank you for your concern. I'm fine.” Ashlynn tried to calm herself, but her

mind was in turmoil.

Why was this man here?

Even if she was certain that Salvatore had been executed, she was still afraid to look straight intothis man's face.

All she could do was convince herself that this man had nothing to do with Salvatore.

Anne took the contract and said, “Alright, Uncle. Do you want some coffee?”

“Sure.”

“Ms. Thompson, please make us two cups of coffee.”

“Yes, miss.” Ashlynn turned around and left the office, steadied her frightened heartbeat, andheaded for the pantry.

Two cups of coffee were quickly brewed and brought to the office.

One cup was placed in front of Anne.

When the other cup was placed in front of Corentin, every nerve in her body felt resistant.Especially when his eyes looked at her, she almost spilled the coffee.

Ashlynn lowered her head and left the room. As she was closing the door, she heard the man say,"Your assistant is quite interesting. She seems to have lost her soul every time she sees me.

“Huh? Is it so?”

She could not hear them anymore after she had closed the door.

However, Ashlynn was more certain that this man was not Salvatore.

If it had been Salvatore, he would not have reacted like this when he saw her.

Even his eyes seemed unfamiliar.

Besides, Ms. Vallois call him uncle? So, was he related to Ms. Vallois?

He said he went to the hospital, so he must have gone to see Ms. Vallois's father.

Corentin was long gone when Ashlynn entered the office in the afternoon.

After she had finished her work, Ashlynn did not leave immediately.

"What's wrong? Is there anything else?” Anne asked.

“Ms. Vallois, is the person in your office this morning your uncle?”

"Yes, he is my father's brother, so he is my uncle. His name is Corentin, and we only met not longago.”

"He doesn’t have the same surname as your father?” Ashlynn asked.

Anne said, “No, because they have the same father but different mothers. He came over because ofmy dad. He lives in Athetin and will be going back in a couple of days.” Seeing Ashlynn lost in herthoughts, she asked, “Did my uncle really not hurt you that day? You can talk to him if he did, as it'shis fault for hitting someone else.”

“No, I was walking too fast that day. It wasn't all his fault...I'll leave first then.” Ashlynn left the office.Anne felt Ashlynn’s reactions were a bit abnormal, but she decided not to think much of it.Ashlynn returned to her seat and used the computer on her desk to search for Corentin’s name.
