Chapter 754

Ashlynn glanced at the Bintley on the side of the road and asked, “Why is Mr. Lloyd here?”Corentin chuckled. “Did you not see me in the ward? I was looking for a place to eat nearby. I didnot expect to see you being bullied by gangsters. Fortunately, I bumped into you. Otherwise, itwould be troublesome for you.”

“Thank you very much,” Ashlynn said again.

“That's all?"

"What?" Ashlynn did not understand what he meant.

Corentin suggested, “I haven't eaten. How about a meal together? You are my niece's assistant. Youshould know where to eat delicious food in Luton, shouldn't you?”

Ashlynn would have been unwilling before, but he saved her just now, and because of that, he hadmissed his meal.

This person was Anne's uncle, but she still felt insecure.

“I've already eaten. I can recommend a place for you though,” Ashlynn said, looking for an excuse."How about this? I'm going back to Athetin tomorrow. Can we have dinner together?” Corentinasked.

Ashlynn’s eyes flickered, and she asked, “Why...why do you want to have dinner with me?”

They were not from the same social hierarchy.

One was a successful person, and the other was an ordinary person raised in a poor environment.Corentin did not seem very high and mighty though.

“Maybe I want to know why you are so afraid of me.”

Ashlynn was shocked. She did not expect that he would want to know why.

“Then, it's agreed. I'll pick you up at the company after you get off work.” He turned around and gotinto the car right after he said that. He did not give Ashlynn a chance to refuse, nor did he invite herto get in the car.

Ashlynn watched the Bintley drive off and let out a deep breath.

He looked gentlemanly, cultivated, and dignified.

He was different from Salvatore

He had saved her from some gangsters. She could not really refuse, could she?

Well, she should probably go to dinner with him as a show of gratitude.

When it was time to get off work, Ashlynn left the company building and wondered if Corentinwould actually come. She looked up and saw a black Bintley parked not far away.

Corentin got out of the car and walked up to her with a kind smile on his face. “Shall we?”Ashlynn nodded in a daze.

“Get in the car then.”

Ashlynn got into his car.

In the car, she smelt his cologne wafting all around her.

Ashlynn felt a little uncomfortable, sat by the car door, and focused on the outside.

Corentin was quiet and did not take the initiative to talk to her.

The car drove to the restaurant.

Corentin had reserved a private room, so they went straight there.

After entering the private room, Corentin walked over and pulled out a chair for her, behaving like agentleman.

“Thank you.” Ashlynn sat down.

After sitting down, Corentin asked, “Have you been here?”

“No. This is the first time I dined at such an expensive place.” Ashlynn shook her headembarrassingly.

Corentin said, “This is my first time too.”

Ashlynn smiled stiffly, knowing that his first time was utterly different from hers.

They had a very formal dinner with red wine.

After the dishes were all served, Corentin told the waiter to leave. He poured red wine for Ashlynnhimself.

Ashlynn was flattered. “Thank you...”

Corentin raised his glass. “Try it.”

Ashlynn drank the red wine, which tasted bittersweet.
