Chapter 762

"Your assistant is an interesting person. We had lunch before, but she is still so timid.” Corentin waswearing a light smile on his face.

Anne was surprised. “Only the two of you?” Ashlynn had never mentioned this before. Obviouslythat meant it was her personal matter.

“My car hit hers. I was making compensation,” Corentin said briefly.

Anne understood. She just did not expect her uncle, the person who was in control of the entireLloyd Group and even the Athetin city’s economy, to have such a big heart.

She then thought about Anthony, who shared the similarity of holding immense power andinfluence. Why were the two so different?

They arrived at Corentin’s mansion

It was surrounded by hills and the waters, the land was spacious, and it was a priceless property. There were three stories, and each floor had its own balcony. It was very elegant.

It was not something that an ordinary person could ever attain.

Anne was arranged to stay at Corentin’s mansion while the rest of her company stayed at the hotel.Honestly speaking, this was not making things any more convenient for them.

However, she had a driver to send her in and out of the premises, and she only needed to getCorentin to arrange for it verbally, so she had nothing to complain about.

After lunch, they went to the Lloyd Group together.

Naturally, the Lloyd Group was grand enough to leave people's jaws unhinged, nothing less thanthe Archduke Group.

The only difference was that each of them had different things to offer.

Ashlynn and the rest were already waiting in the meeting room.

When Corentin and Anne entered, everyone stood up.

Ashlynn and her colleagues immediately followed suit, too, and welcomed the CEO of the LloydGroup.

They thought they were indeed a big company with so much protocol.

“Take a seat.” Corentin sat down, and then Anne sat next to Ashlynn.

After everyone settled in their seats, Corentin started speaking. He appeared to be so stern that noone dared interrupt him

The discussion went smoothly, and they could almost have settled everything just within thesession.

They could tell that before coming to this session, the internal management of the Lloyd Group hadalready made up their minds. This was only a procedure to follow.

After executing the agreement, a few important members of the senior management had lunch withAnne and the company, together with Corentin.

Naturally, they had nothing less than some wine on the table to go with the meal

Anne and Ashlynn could not have escaped that, but the two of them were conscientious aboutkeeping themselves sober. Otherwise, things might have gone out of control.

Ashlynn could not drink as much as Anne could. She felt the need to pee after two glasses of wine. She went to the toilet. She looked at her red cheeks in the mirror, and her vision was starting to beshaky.

She shook her head, attempting to clear her head up, but she felt even dizzier.

She sobered up a little in the toilet before coming out.

A towel was handed to her. She looked up and saw it was Corentin. The face still made her heartskip a beat. She received the towel while avoiding his eyes and said, “Thank you, Mr. Lloyd.”

She wiped her face, and the cold towel made her feel better.

“I did not expect your alcohol tolerance to be rather low.”

“It's impressive that Mr. Lloyd had drunk so much and still walked straight.”

“If you had spent enough time at the dining table as I did, you would be like me too.” Corentin kepthis lips curved upward, his amber—colored eyes looking straight at her.

“Right, Mr. Lloyd manages such a big company. That is impressive,” Ashlynn complimented him outof courtesy but also from the bottom of her heart.

“I am going back now. Follow me, I will send you back to the hotel,” Corentin said. “Ah? There's noneed for it. I still need to attend to something in the afternoon.” “How could you work in thiscondition? Don't worry. I will let Anne know about it.”
