Chapter 886

She did not want to bring harm to innocent people, so she sat up and started eating, one small biteat a time.

“Take it slow, Ms. Vallois. Let your stomach get used to it. You didn't eat much at noon,” Fiona said.Anne could not stand to eat too much or she would vomit, which meant that she would continueeating, so she had to take it slow.

Eventually, she finished her food.

"How do you feel, Ms. Vallois? Any discomfort?”

“I'm fine,” Anne said.

“I can't believe that medicine works,’ Fiona thought to herself.

Anne got up and went upstairs, with the maid following closely behind her.

Once she was inside the bedroom, the maid stood outside the room and Anne ignored her.Anthony had commanded the maid to follow her everywhere, and she knew that she had no powerto change that.

She leaned against the bed and rubbed her stomach.

She should not have gotten pregnant.

Even if she gave birth to it, it would only increase the factors that concerned her like the triplets did.She already had three children to worry about, and now she had four.

This was the last thing Anne wanted...

Just then, her phone on the nightstand started ringing. At first, she thought that it was fromAnthony, but soon realized that it was from an unknown number.

“Who is this..." She thought. “I don’t even go to work anymore, so who could be contacting me rightnow..."

“Hello...?”

"Anne, are you busy?” It was Ashlynn.

"Oh, it's you. I'm not busy right now.”

“Are you alright?” Ashlynn asked.

“I'm fine. What about you? Is there something you want to ask?” Anne did not mention her crisis, because she knew she was the only one who could get herself out of the current situation

“Do you remember the news about a couple being found dead in a motel? Did they replace out whathappened?” Ashlynn asked.

“I haven't paid attention to that. Let me ask someone ... Whoever is outside, come in,” Anne calledout. Once the maid came inside, she asked, “Do you know about the news regarding a couple beingfound dead in a motel?”

“Yes. I've seen it on the news.”

"Have they found out what happened?”

“I don't recall seeing or hearing any updates, so I assume not, or the news would have reported it,”the maid said.

"Okay. That's all I needed,” Anne said.

The maid went outside and continued to stand outside the door.

"Did you hear her?” Anne asked.

“I did,” Ashlynn said, “I didn't see any update on the news either so I thought maybe you knewsomething.”

“I will try asking Anthony later.”

“It's fine.”

"Why are you asking about this?”

“No reason. I just think that it's horrifying and wondered who did it. Forget it. I don't really want toknow.”

After the call, Ashlynn sat on the toilet in a daze.

She could not tell Anne that she suspected Corentin to be the killer, because there was still a chancethat she could be wrong. However, Salvatore had always been a vengeful person and even thoughhe had not reacted to what happened in front of her, it was too much of a coincidence forsomething to happen on that exact night.

She carried her dog and hid the phone underneath its belly, before getting up. As she walked out ofthe room, she ran into a nervous-looking servant and asked, “Is this your phone?”

Terrified, the servant said, “I'm so sorry. I only brought my phone here today because of somepersonal business. I will never do it again!”

“It's fine. I will pretend that I didn't see it.”

“Thank you!”

Ashlynn then returned to her room.
