REBORN UNDER THE FULL MOON
Chapter 15: The Discovery

Lyla's

pov

I stared at my phone as I saw the message from Kyle. I won't make it today.

You have got to be kidding me. Kyle, that jerk.

He wasn't going to show and he didn't bother to inform me early. I waited for him for an hour.

If I didn't call him, he wouldn't have told me.

I tried calling him but no response. I was sure he knew I was calling him because it was right after he sent me the message I called him.

He obviously didn't want to answer the phone. It was unlike him. I went back to territory without wasting any more time.

"So fast?" I heard Aria say.

"He didn't show. "I responded. "I don't know why he didn't show up but he isn't answering my calls." I complained. "He's probably busy." she stated.

"Busy?" that wasn't a good excuse for me. "He would have called earlier if he was busy. I walked all the way to the bayou for no reason. I complained.

Aria chuckled. "You do realise you have super speed, right? " she added knowing fully well that I was exaggerating.

"So? I still use my leg for the speed. And what is more important than my training?" I asked her like she had the answer to everything. "You know he has his own life, right? You're acting like a restless girlfriend. " she added.

I scoffed. "Girl... Girlfriend? I am not acting like that. I just feel my training should be his top priority. That's all."

"You're not paying him, hope you remember that. For him to miss training, it must have been something important." she added.

"I do hope so." I said. "What am I going to do today?"

I asked myself.

All I did everyday was train and talk to Aria for something. I couldn't talk to Aria throughout the day, it would just seem weird. Plus it looked like she was busy doing something witchy. And I didn't want to bother her.

So I decided to walk around. I had never really explored here before. I didn't want to infact, I didn't want to give them any more reason to hate me but I didn't have a choice. "I'll be back, Aria. " I said then I left.

I passed what seemed to be where the kida played. They looked like they were having all of fun.

While I was walking, I saw a closed door. I was drawn to the door but it looked secured so I didn't want to go.

So I walked away but due to my inquisitive behavior, I walked back in front of the door.

The door wasn't locked with anything, it was just closed shut.

I opened slightly but it creaked and I panicked.

I don't know why I acted like a thief. I wasn't doing anything wrong. I was just snooping in places which had an invisible sign saying Keep out.

I opened the door further but everywhere was dark. So I reached for my phone and turned on the light.

I used my phone light to search for the room switch. I found it after numerous switching of light.

I just hoped the wrong switch I pushed didn't mean anything bad.

As the light switch on, I could not believe my eyes.

O my God was right.

It was like a weapon room.

But they weren't normal weapons like gun and knife. They were weapons specifically meant for werewolves. My heart skipped a bit when I saw it. Wooden bullet, wolfbane.

Normal bullet didn't work on werewolves because they could also heal but not as fast as a werewolf. There healing could take minutes or hour. Wolfbane were a werewolf weakness. When touched or taken in, It kind of burns them but doesn't kill them.

Its main purpose is to weaken our kind or could be used for torture.

"What are you doing here?" I heard someone say and my heart stopped beating. I didn't want to turn around to see who was talking.

It sounded like a man. "Lyla?" he called and I turned.

It was Ansel. " I am really sorry. I was just looking around." At this point, I feared for my life. There were many weapons lined up begging to be used for my death.

I waited to hear Ansel response but he didn't say anything. He just stared. It wasn't anger or hate. Trust me, it wasn't love either. He was just so hard to figure out. "How did you know I was here?" I finally broke to silence.

"I received a warning." he said pointing somewhere.

I followed his hands and it was one of the buttons I pressed earlier. Curse those darn buttons.

"I'm really sore again. " I said and I walked passed him.

"I'm sorry about your father." he said and I paused in my tracks.

I turned around. "You knew my father?" I asked.

He closed the door of the room. "Not personally but I know he wasn't one of Ryker. " he said then he started to walk. I started to follow him.

"The Alpha of the Moonlit pack, Zeus. I never knew him but I heard about how he was. How he did anything for his pack.

He was the one that saved the last survivors of the hunters. He knew we hunted his kind but he didn't hesitate to save us. That was the first time I met him. He was as admirable and honorable as everyone talked about." Ansel said and I couldn't help but smile.

I never knew my father did any of this. I was proud of him.

"That's why I didn't have problem accepting your because I knew the kind of person your father was. I watched you and I know you are no different from him. "

He said and I felt like crying. At least someone remembered him.

"Thank you. It really means alot. " I said and Ansel stopped.

He held my shoulder. "Wherever your father is, he would be proud of you. Never stop fighting. If you need my help I'm always there to repay your father. " he said and smiled. Then he left.

I felt so good knowing Ansel didn't hate me. I never knew how he felt but at least I knew it wasn't hatred.

I walked back to my room and Aria want there as she normally was. Maybe she was still busy being a witch.

I looked at my phone to see if Kyle had messaged back. He didn't even call. Nothing.

That was not like him at all. I hoped nothing was wrong.
