Chapter 38: Unveiling Betrayal

"I'm so happy you are back," Aria smiled at me.

"Me too," I hugged her.

"Mhmm," Kyle cleared his throat as we turned around to look at him.

I walked up to him and pulled him into a hug, 'Thank you," I whispered.

"You're welcome," he responded as he hugged me back.

"Okay, so we need to stay here. I put new protective spells from the ancient grimoire, so no one can come in." Aria smiled at us.

"Alright then who is hungry," she continued as she walked into the kitchen.

I and Kyle looked at each other probably thinking the same thing.

"Can you cook?" we asked in unison.

"Of course, I can whip up something for us, but I don't have to do that because the house will," She smiled at us.

"Alright then, I am going to shower and I am going to need some scar fading oil because I have a crazy large scar on my stomach thanks to that poaters king who likely has a loosened screw in his head." I rolled my eyes. "What you got injured?" Aria asked as she rushed towards me.

"Yeah, it's nothing serious and it is healed already," I smiled.

"They cut you with silver!" Aria gasped.

"What?!" Kyle said as he walked towards us.

"Those bastards. I rip their fucking throats out!" Kyle cursed.

"Please don't use vile words the house doesn't like that but I agree with you. The poaters need to be taught a lesson." Aria said.

"Yeah, and I think one of the hunters is working with the Poaters. They knew everything and that wouldn't be possible unless they were told by a hunter. What are we going to do about it?" I asked.

"Don't worry, I will take care of it. I already have a few ideas of who that may be but I will set a trap for them and it is highly likely that they will fall for it and be exposed.

In two days time, we will go back to the house. First, we need to heal all your scars and rest. The real war just started.” Aria said making my heart race.

"I will really miss staying here," I whined as we got ready to leave the witches havern.

"I know, it is very cozy," Aria nodded in agreement.

"I don't know why but I get a feeling something is wrong," Kyle said as we landed in front of the hunters building.

"I get what you mean. There is a different kind of oppressive energy surrounding the house," I responded, and Kyle nodded.

"Hmm, I can't feel what you guys are talking about but I sense a shift in energy," Aria said as we walked in.

As we got in, we were met with a mob of angry people staring at us.

"Why is she here? I thought she didn't want to be here?" An older lady asked angrily.

"What? What do you mean?" Aria asked.

"Do you really think we have no clue about what happened? Of course, we know that she ran away and you brought her back. She probably went to tell the wolves about our whereabouts and what we were planning!" A lady said. "I told you all that we could not trust her but no one listened," Elijah interjected.

"Where is all of these coming from? Lyra here got kidnapped and we had to rescue her," Aria said surprised by their allegations.

"Yeah, right and you expect us to believe you. If she was truly kidnapped, why didn't you reach out to us? We are hunters, that's what we do best. We would have found her," Someone commented.

"She wasn't captured by any normal species. It was very dangerous. She was kidnapped by poaters," Aria said and every gasped but Elijah seemed unfazed.

He is probably the one that plotted my kidnapping with the Poaters, I thought.

"Aren't they creatures from the underworld?" A teenager asked.

"Yes, I think there is a crack in the wall separating our world from the underworld. The poaters kidnapping Lyra is the least dangerous thing that happened. I have a feeling that there is more to come. I mean if there really is a crack in the world then that means that more dangerous species will come. We are in more danger than we have ever been. The species in the underworld are ruthless and they don't mind wiping out an entire species," Aria said worriedly. "So, what are we going to do now?" A member of the council asked.

"We will talk about that later, right now Lyra needs to rest," Aria said.

"Alright then I will get going," Kyle said to me as he hugged me and finally left.

"You need to push yourself a little further. I know you have so much potential but you need to calm down and focus. Stop underestimating yourself." The lady in all white said and disappeared.

"You are in grave danger. This is more dangerous than anything you've ever know. You are going to be tested. The wall of the underworld is not cracked, it is broken and it is only a matter of time until bad things start happening. Come and see what happened the last time the underworld entered your world," The lady in black said to me as she stretched her hand towards me.

I grabbed her and she disappeared.

"She is right but her time is up and it's my turn I am here to tell you that you need to watch your enemies closely. They are with you, all around you. The person you trust the most will break your heart. they will leave you devastated and alone. Be careful of the choices you make they have the ability to destroy everything you have worked for. Your enemies are plotting now as we speak and truths are being discovered. Yours will be the most painful to replace and it will break your heart. "Please can you explain what you mean to mean. Can you explain all they said? I don't understand you are all talking in riddles," I said.

She reached out to me and disappeared.
