Maren’s POV

The bloody brat escaped us, but I know she is going to her sister in England. It is good, so now I can get both of them simultaneously. They took Ben and Carl away from me, and I will make them pay with their miserable lives. I will not let them take the throne from me! The throne is rightfully mine. Oliver and John think I am working with them. They do not know that their men despise them. It is easy to let their men astray and tell them I will make them my council members once we defeat Mercia, take the crowns of Mercia and Essex, and unite the two kingdoms. My father is old, and no one can defeat Oliver and John except me. I am not very good at fighting, but I am learning as the general with me is my new lover until I do not need him anymore. We got on a plane at the airport as soon as I realized that the Kingdom jet was not there. I know they must have gone to the smaller airport. I know they are on their way to England as Wallis is with them, and he will only come back to get Paris if London tells him to.

They must know about our plans, but I can improvise, and I will wait for them at the royal airport in England. My father and his men will not know I am there as new wolves are always arriving, and all the other wolves will mask my scent at the airport. They must think I am stupid and that I think they are still in America as the plane was not at the airport! How else did Wallis get into America? Of course, the King would send for Paris because, by now, he must know Paris is the oldest and not London. Whenever I think of Carl, I think of the pain he caused me by denouncing me as his mate. I wanted to give him a son, but he could not have any more pups, so I had to sleep with the useless Alpha, and I did so to ensure that our position in the pack was secured if I failed to get the crown back, but he chased me out of the pack! He only protected me because of Ben, and when those two useless daughters of mine turned Ben against me, I lost everything. I lost Carl because of London and Ben because of Paris. I should have killed Paris long ago when she was still a pup, but I waited too long. She became stronger than me, and I knew she would kill me with a smile if I attacked her. She is stronger than I ever was. I should have learned to fight when I was young, but I thought I was a lady. I should never have left the Kingdom for Carl. I caused the war. I know John still hates me and wants me dead, but he thinks I am stupid and will do it after I help him get a hold of London. He does not know I am planning on killing the twins and blames it all on him. I will kill him and be a hero in my father’s eyes. I will end the war and take Mercia and unite the two kingdoms. My father will forgive me and hand me the crown. I will get Ben back and maybe Carl. I don’t know if I want to kill him with our daughters. It depends on how he treats me.

Carl is strong, and I need him as my King to keep the crown until Ben is old enough to take the throne, and I can retire and live my life in luxury as I am used to. All I need to do is get to the airport before Paris and take her hostage. I will get London to come to her sister’s aid and then kill both of them and blame Oliver and John. My plan is perfect.

Third Person’s POV

Meran is crazy as hell and does not realize that she can not kill Paris. She also does not know that Walker and Paris are in England and that London, Nathan, Carl, and Ben are on their way to England. She does not know that Paris and Walker know all about Oliver and John’s plans and that they will be waiting at the airport for London and the rest. They will go to the airport before the ball starts, and everyone will be busy getting ready for the ball. Maren and her men did not contact John and Oliver as they did not want to tell them that they had not caught Paris and that Paris was on her way to England. Oliver and John will be pissed off as they want Paris in their grip before she lands in England. They want to take her to a place the King does not know. They want to have her in Oliver’s prison, where King George’s men can not get a hold of her. They want to use her to get Essex. If they know, she is on her way to England but not captured, yet they will be furious as it will be dangerous to catch her here in Essex, where King George’s men can defeat them and get Paris before they do.

The night of the masked ball is coming closer. Walker, Paris, and Jeffrey are ready to meet London and the rest at the airport. Meran is furious as the Kingdom jet is not at the airport as she suspected it would be. She and her men have been waiting for days, but there is no sign of Paris and the rest of the wolves with her. What if they went to another country too, because they knew what Oliver and John were planning? What if they knew that Meran was involved? What if they knew Meran was in the Kingdom? Meran is getting worried, but then she hears about the masked ball. She knows the plane will land the night of the ball as the King wants to get Paris safely into the castle without Oliver and John knowing. Meran smiles as she tells her men to be ready for the night of the masked ball. She does not know that Paris is already in the castle and that it is London that will be on the plane. She also does not know that Paris, Walker, and the rebels will be waiting at the airport and that her life is not worth much if she gets caught. Meran does not know that the rebel prince is Paris’ mate and will do anything to protect his second-chance mate and her family. Meran smiles as she thinks she is very clever and will outsmart the King, Oliver, and John. She did not even think about the rebels as the night of the masked ball drew closer.

The night of the masked ball has arrived. Jeffrey has planned two precisely the same dresses for Paris and London. Paris looks at the ball gown and frowns as she sees the high heels. Luckily, she does not have to wear it when they go to fetch London and the rest at the airport, but she will have to take it with her in the limo so she and London can get dressed on the plane. She also has the tuxedos for Nathan and Walker, who are complaining that he has to wear a suit. He says a suit does not fit him and that he always feels uncomfortable in a suit.

“Well, at least you get to wear pants. I have to wear a bloody dress. Do you know how uncomfortable those things are?” Paris says as they get ready. Paris is wearing black pants, sneakers, and a black top. She has a silver sword and dagger. The handles are made of wood, so she does not hurt herself when using them. Walker is dressed in his usual uniform of the rebels. He has a shotgun and looks damn sexy in his camouflaged uniform. Paris has a hard time keeping her eyes off him. Walker can feel her eyes on his body, and he looks her in the eyes. He k****s Paris.

“If you keep looking at me like that, we are not going to make the airport,” Walker whispers and laughs softly when he sees Paris blush.

“You two need a bloody room,” Jeffrey says.

“Yes, we need a night alone in Paris’ room,” Walker says. Jeffrey smiles, and Paris blushes.

“Your language, Jeffrey,” Paris says, and she talks like Jeffrey. Walker laughs as he knows Jeffrey always calls Paris out when she swears.

“You are rubbing off on me, and I even heard the King swear the other day after you stumped your toe on that chair and said all the curse words, you know,” Jeffrey says. Paris laughs. She can only imagine the King swearing.

“I bet it was because he lost a chess game to the Queen again,” Paris says.

“Yes, and thank you for teaching the Queen to play chess. Now the King is driving me crazy. I have to play chess with him every night so he can practice,” Jeffrey says. The team is ready, and Walker’s men are waiting in the woods outside the palace grounds. They know when the plane will land and want to be there before the jet arrives. They start moving out. Paris is in the limo with the dresses and tuxedos, and Walker and his men are running to the airport. They are running with the limo to protect it from any possible attacks. One never knows who knows about their plans. Luckily, Oliver is preoccupied with his new mate and does not care as much about the war anymore. Besides, he is waiting for Meran to arrive with Paris. He will never have to fight again if their plan works.

As the limo arrives at the airport, Paris gets out and walks with her guards to where the jet will land. She is well aware of Meran and wolves from Mercia, keeping an eye on her. She does not carry her weapons herself, as London will never have weapons with her. She walks and talks like London. Meran is too far away from her to get her scent, and Meran thinks she is London. Meran smiles as she sees the few guards London brought with her. She does not know about the army of werewolves waiting in the woods near the landing strip. She has not seen them as Walker, and his men are well-trained and ready for action. They know how to hide from the enemy without being seen. Paris nods slightly in the direction of Meran to show Walker where her mother and the wolves are. Meran does not even notice it, and only Walker’s trained eye can see the slight movement. He turns his head and looks at Meran and the wolves with her. He shows his men with his hands where the enemy is, and Jonathan and his men smile as they know the general with Meran. They nod and are ready for the attack as the private jet lands. As the jet lands, Meran and her wolves move fast to where Paris and her men are standing. Paris sees her mother coming, and she grabs the silver sword from one of the guards. Too late, Meran realizes her mistake. The she-wolf she is about to jump is not the meek London but Paris, the strong daughter she hates so much. Paris moves fast, and before her mother can land on top of her, she is out of Meran’s way and sticks the silver sword into the one wolf trying to attack her from the back. He falls to the ground, and Walker and his men are on top of the other wolves. Paris starts circling her mother with a smirk on her face.

“What is wrong, mother dearest? Not the she-wolf you expected,” Paris says. Meran is pale as she knows she can not fight Paris, but she sees the general.

“Get her!” She shouts at the general, but before he can move, a big black wolf jumps and rips his head off. Meran screams as her lover’s b***d covers her. She made the biggest mistake of her life and took her eyes off Paris. Paris moves in fast, and before Meran knows what is happening, she feels a burning sensation as the silver sword penetrates her evil heart. Meran looks doyen in shock before she falls to the ground. Meran, the once Crown Princess of Essex, dies on the soil she was born on. Her b***d soaks into the ground of her fatherland. No one will mourn her as everyone hated her for starting a war that took many lives and is still ongoing. Meran’s men are all killed quickly, and before anyone even knows what happened, the bodies are gone with the rebels. Walker and his men are back in the woods near the airstrip, and they watch as Paris walks onto the plane with the two dresses. Walker changes to human form and puts on jeans and a t-shirt before running to the aircraft to be with his mate. That was easy, almost too easy.
