Third person’s POV

As Jonathan mind-links Walker that everything is ready on their side, Walker gives the sign to everyone with him. The shamans are out of the way, and they can move forward with their plan. We are happy that we can start the attack, as the poor she-wolves near the castle are having difficulty keeping the hands and other parts of the wolves’ autonomy of their bodies. Walker doesn’t want anything to happen to our she-wolves. I will feel responsible. They are under the Kingdom’s care and protection, and it is time to release them from their duty to distract the wolves of Oliver and John.

“Okay, here we go!” Paris says as our troops start attacking. The wolves ran off the hill where they were waiting. They follow Elena into the castle, and John and Oliver look panicked as they run in.

“We need to get out! The army of the new Kingdom is attacking, and they are too many for us,” Elena shouts. Oliver looks like he is about to cry as he stands frozen in one spot. He turns to Cecelia, who looks panicked as well. She has tried to call Aldo and Dakota, but they are not answering their phones. This is not what Cecelia expected. She expected the two powerful shamans to protect her. She is in a panic like John and Oliver. What will she do if John and Oliver expect protection from her? She has no power and can not fight. Cecelia decides it is best to disappear in the chaos. Oliver and John are trying to get men around them, and the men of Elena help the hostages to get through a secret passage while John and Oliver are in a flat spin.

“Get the hostages! We need to use them as a shield!” John shouts, but there is so much noise and confusion that his men do not hear him. Some men do not even want to protect their so-called King and Prince, and they walk over to Elena and help her get the hostages out. They keep the other guards busy with fake commands from John and send the guards running to “protect” John and Oliver. Everything is chaotic, and in the chaos, Cecelia tries to sneak out but runs into Walker. She is relieved as she thinks Walker still loves her and wants to be her mate.

“Walker, honey, I am so glad to see you,” Cecelia says, and she turns on the waterworks to make me feel sorry for her.

“Who are you calling, honey? Walker is my mate, and I will appreciate it if you do not call him pet names,” An angry voice sounds from behind Cecelia. Cecelia turns around, and there is a she-wolf standing behind her. She has heard the rumors that Walker got another mate, but she refuses to believe the words. She does not want to think of him with another mate! He is hers! He is King of the new Kingdom now, and she is willing to be his mate.

“I do not know who you are, but Walker and I are mates, so get lost,” Cecelia says. She is not ready to give Walker up to anyone and will fight for him instead of seeing him with another she-wolf. Paris laughs as she hears Cecelia’s words. Does the damn she-wolf think she has a say over Walker? It will not happen on her watch, and she will fight for her mate.

“Prepare to die,” Paris says. Walker does not have time to look at the two she-wolves as he needs to fight. One of John’s men overhears their conversation and tells John that Walker is the rebel prince.

“Walker, help me!” Cecelia shouts in the confusion that follows. She knows she is no fighter and will die at the hands of Paris if someone does not help her. She starts chanting a spell she has learned from Aldo and Dakota, but her magic is not very powerful, and she feels another magical power intervening with hers. She looks up and sees a creature with glowing red fur standing on her hind legs, walking into the castle. She knows the beast must be a powerful witch or something. Then Cecelia feels relieved as she sees Aldo and Dakota entering the castle with the magical creature. They must have come with this powerful creature to save her. Everyone is busy with their own things as the fight for the hostages breaks out in the castle.

“Piss off, Cecelia! I will not protect you. You are nothing to me!” Walker shouts over the notice from the castle. He is busy fighting two wolves and trying to keep an eye on John and Oliver, ensuring they do not escape.

“Protect the doors,” Paris shouts as she grabs Cecelia by the neck. The men of the Kingdom of Wessex run to the doors and protect them. They will do whatever their Queen or King tells them. Paris does not want Oliver and John to escape, so she gives instructions.

“Aldo, Dakota help me,” Cecelia screams.

“We are no longer serving you! We found the one we would follow and, of course, the King and Queen. We found courage!” Dakota shouts back to Cecelia, who is now dangling from the air as Paris picks her up by the neck. Cecelia knows this is her last moment on earth, and she is not ready to meet the Moon Goddess.

“Please, Queen, have mercy! I will follow you and not come near Walker again,” Cecelia starts being for her life.

“Mercy? You did not have when you took my pregnant sister as a hostage,” Paris says. She knows she will have to show strength so the wolves will have even more respect for her as their Queen. She breaks Cecelia’s neck and drops her body to the ground.

“Watch out, Queen!” Jeff shouts, but it is too late as Oliver grabs Paris and holds a gun to her head.

“Surrender! Or I will kill your Queen!” Oliver shouts, and John starts laughing because having the Queen as a shield is better than having the hostages.

“We will let your Queen go if you let us out,” John laughs. Mariam smiles as she uses her magic to freeze Oliver to the spot he is standing in. He is not able to move anything.

“You are wrong, King John! You do not have the Queen as a hostage, and since you are not real royals, you are not protected against my magic. When your forefathers stole the land of Mercia from the other two kingdoms, they never thought about the magic protection the real royals have,” Mariam laughs. John can see Oliver standing still, and he is panicking.

“Move, Oliver! Take the Queen so we can get out of here!” John shouts.

“I can not move a bone, father!” Oliver shouts as he is also panicking now. The rest of their men have surrendered to the King and Queen of Wessex. They are angry at John for wanting to leave them and run away like the f*****g coward he is!

“We serve a new King and Queen now!” One of his generals shouts as he grabs Queen Alexandria, who is trying to use magic to free herself and her son. She feels her magic being drained. Alexandria never tells anyone that she has magical abilities, and she is surprised that someone knows and is using her magic against her. She knows it is the end, and she falls to her knees.

“We give up! We will serve you,” Alexandria says.

“Shut up! I will never surrender!” John shouts. The fighting has stopped, and the chaos is over as Paris steps away from Oliver taking his gun out of his hand.

“Good job, Mariam. I am so proud of you,” Paris says. She knows Mariam can not shift back as her clothing must be torn. To her surprise, Mariam returns to her human form, and her dress is intact. ‘

“Magic can come in handy, Queen. I can shift and still have my clothes. Thank you for having so much trust in me that you trusted me with your life,” Mariam says. She, Jonathan, and the witches flew off the mountain to help their King and Queen. Mariam wants to laugh when she remembers Jonathan screaming like a little girl when she lifted him from the ground and made him fly with her down the mountain.

“Take these two away and lock them up. We will deal with them later,” Walker says as the soldiers bend their knees in front of their new King and Queen.

“Mercia will never be yours, as I will not give it up to you!” John shouts.

“Mercia will become ours when the King dies, and he has not handed his Kingdom over to anyone,” Jeffrey says. He nods at Mariam, who seals John’s mouth so he can not talk and thus not hand his Kingdom to anyone. Besides, he has no High Priest with him who can help him do it. They never know when he can get a High Priest to hand over the Kingdom and want to ensure that does not happen. Oliver and John feel defeated as they know their men have betrayed them and have no hope left to keep the Kingdom. They also know they will be dead before long and that Mercia will become part of the new Kingdom of Wessex. John and Oliver know their fate is sealed. There are no pens or papers near the two prisoners as they walk out of the castle to the dungeons. Only a few rogues are left in the dungeon as the soldiers free their comrades. Oliver and John know they will be in jail with the stinking rogues, and they do not feel like they can survive. They have no choice, though, as they are prisoners of war and know what they have done is something no one will forgive them for. They betrayed the peace treaty between Essex and Mercia and took the ex-royals as hostages.

The doors slam shut behind John and Oliver. The old rogue in the corner of their cell looks at them with b***d-red eyes. He is thirsty to kill, he has not killed in a long time, but he also knows if he kills John and Oliver, the new King and Queen will not have mercy on his tormented soul. He will not have an honorable death nor a chance for the Moon Goddess to forgive him. He wants to use the chance he had in the chaos to escape, but he knows he will not survive a day in the woods of England as Valentino and his men are patrolling the woods. Everyone is afraid of Valentino as he has no mercy for rogues. The old rogue has lost everything, and on the one side, he wants to die as the hurt inside him is killing his human side slowly, but surely. His wolf side is getting stronger, and he knows he will wake up being only a wolf one day.

At the castle, the men of John and Oliver who surrendered are lined up and asked if they want to join the new Kingdom. Mariam makes them speak the truth with a magical spell so the King and Queen will know whether they can trust the wolf or not. Elena feels good as she had a few kills. She only killed those she hated as much as her father and brother, and she could not wait until they died. Alexandria is part of the wolves in the lineup. She wants to lie and say she will serve the new King and Queen, but her little magic does not help her as she can only speak the truth.

“I will never serve you, King and Queen. I do not believe you are the King and Queen, and Mercia will always be independent of you,” Alexandria says. Elena walks over to her mother and looks her in the eyes. She does not care about this she-wolf as she knows she has always been a fake Queen. Elena takes her hand and puts it around her mother’s neck. She starts squeezing, and Alexandria starts screaming. None of the wolves in the lineup can change into wolves, as Mariam’s magic prevents them from doing so. Elena feels a little sorry for her mother as she squeezes harder. She has mercy for her mother and kills the old Queen of Mercia fast. The troops and the royals start celebrating as London, Paris, and Ben hug each other. The three siblings will always be close as they are part of the future of the werewolf race.
