Third person’s POV

Paris, Walker, and the rest walk to the old castle where her grandfather’s body is still lying on the ground in the study. Her grandmother is holding his heart and what she will do with it is up to her. Victoria puts the heart in a wooden box. The box is magical and will preserve the heart forever if that is the wish of Victoria. Paris thinks it is a little weird but says nothing, as she would have burned the heart of the one that put her through so much pain. Maybe her grandmother will do that once she gets her revenge on her grandfather’s human lover. Who knows?

Paris wants to wash her grandfather’s b***d off her hands as soon as possible, and it is like Walker can read her mind. He leads her to the first bathroom. He can see she is not feeling too good about killing her grandfather, but she is merciful and respectful. He was not always a good wolf, but when he was, the people of his kingdom loved him. They can not believe he betrayed them that way, and most want his body to be burned. A traitor gets burned as the wolves believe his soul will not be brought to the Moon Goddess then. No one knows if it is true, but that is how the legend goes, and that is what the werewolves believe. They are sure the Moon Goddess does not want a traitor with her as he betrayed them and sold them out to the humans and fake hunters.

“What do you want us to do with the body, Queen?” One of the generals asks. Paris knows the ritual for a traitor, and she knows he has no other choice but to tell them that they need to burn him.

“Burn the body. He was a traitor to our kind and did not deserve an honorable burial. He was my grandfather, but now he is an empty vessel that does not deserve to see the face of the Moon Goddess,” Paris says. The general nods. He knows Paris has no other choice and will not ask her to be kind to the old king as he is pissed off at George himself. The old Queen deserves better than a lying, cheating traitor as a mate. Everyone is happy that the traitor’s body will be burned. Paris walks to her grandmother’s room, where she is lying on her bed crying. She knows it must be hard for her mother to realize her mate was cheating on her and losing him in one day. She knows that her grandmother must be broken, but she also knows she is a strong she-wolf and will get over it quickly. She will fight for her people and will not cry forever in this bed. Paris also knows her grandmother needs time to heal, so she is there to console her.

“Paris, I want that human b***h and face her as quickly as possible. I need to get my revenge,” Her grandmother says. Paris nods as she knows her grandmother needs revenge. She mind-links the general that is with Samuel and Jasmine and asks him to put up a link to the castle. It is time her grandmother talks to that human b***h. She takes her grandmother to the office where they have removed the traitor’s body, and they wait for the radio call to come through. She knows the human b***h will try to contact George. It is time she met George’s mate, and they will ensure that none of her weapons work. Paris has instructed her men to let Val know to jam the weapons the human woman will take with her. She bets the mortal woman has never seen a pissed-off she-wolf before, and she will not like what she sees and not have a weapon to protect herself. If she takes backup, they will intercept the backup and ensure the human woman is alone with her grandmother. It is time that humans learned not to mess with a wolf that has a mate. Paris can not wait to see the woman’s face when she realizes she has no defense against a she-wolf and has no one to protect her. At last, the call comes through.

“George, honey, are you okay?” The woman asks. Paris can see her grandmother take a deep sigh.

Paris’ POV

“George is not here, but I want to meet you, human! You think you can have an affair with my mate, and I will not replace out about it?” Victoria says.

“You want to fight me, you wolf-bitch?” The human asks.

“No, I want to meet you to see why my mate is so in love with you and chooses you over me! What do you think? I want to kill you, human b***h!” My grandmother shouts.

“Hahaha, you think you can kill me? Well, we will see about that. What does George have to say about that?” The human woman asks my grandmother. We can hear the whole conversation as it is on a loudspeaker, something I do not think my grandfather ever used.

“He does not know about our meeting and is not around to contact you. We are having trouble on our southern border, but that has nothing to do with you. All I want is for you to meet me at the river when the sun sets,” My grandmother says.

“Oh, I will meet you there. I always wanted to meet you, but George, for some reason, always wanted to protect you against me,” The human says.

“It is in his nature to protect his mate. He will never love you! He uses you as you use him,” My grandmother says to make the human woman even more angry.

“George loves me and not you! Why would he come to me when he gets the chance and tell me all your werewolf secrets?” The human says.

“I don’t know, maybe because you are good in bed,” My grandmother answers, making the human feel like the w***e she is.

“Well, I will meet you at the river when the sun sets, your wolf-bitch!” The human shouts at my grandmother, and I feel like slapping the living s**t out of her. I know my grandmother is a true warrior and that she can fight. The only thing that made her weak was her mate, who fed her wolfsbane to be with a human. It is unheard of, and I glare at Walker.

“What?” Walker asks me.

“If you ever cheat on me and feed me wolfsbane, I will rip your balls out and feed them to you,” I say.

“Wow, okay, I promise I will never cheat on you. Damn, babe, you are aggressive, and I have not even done anything wrong,” Walker says while holding onto his balls. Jonathan laughs, but when he looks up, he sees Mariam glaring at him. Jonathan holds his balls automatically.

“My wild days are over, I promise,” Jonathan says. I look at Mariam, and we laugh. Jeff has a smirk on his face until Elena looks at him, and he slowly moves his hands to cover his balls if Elena decides to give the same warning.

“I have had many mates and children, but I never cheated on my mate,” Jeff says.

“Good, you had better keep it that way. I hate cheaters,” Elena says. We are all waiting for my grandmother, and we will follow her to the river in case some human soldiers make it to the river to protect the mortal woman. We do not want to lose Victoria. We had already lost George, but that was his own doing. Everyone in the Kingdom is shocked when they heard of his betrayal and that I killed him, but I think they respect me more for killing him fast. I could do nothing about the burning of his body as it is something wolves believe in, and a traitor is burned. I would have buried him if I could, even if it was only for my grandmother’s sake. I think it is better that he is burned. We gave his ashes to my grandmother, who can do with his heart and his ashes as she likes. Finally, my grandmother comes out of her room dressed in the uniform of the new kingdom, and she looks ready to fight. I can not explain to anyone how proud I feel of her. She looks like the warrior she is, and I know the human woman stands no chance. Even if she has a silver dagger or even a gun with a silver bullet, she will die tonight at the river. I know how fast we are. We had fought hunters with guns and silver bullets before and won most of the time. Not that we fight them much, but sometimes they will come after us, and we have to fight them.

“You look great, grandma. I am so proud of you, and you better kick some a*s tonight,” I say.

“I am planning to, my dear,” My grandma says, and it looks like she has new life flowing through her veins. She is ready, and I know she will kick a*s and take numbers. My grandmother ran to the river, followed by us in the bushes. I hope the others took the human woman’s escort out so she would have to fight alone. I mind-link the general, that is, at the human base.

“Don’t worry, Queen; we have the human escort. We did not kill them, but we sabotaged their vehicles, and they have no communication with the mortal woman. She is on her way to the river and only has a few men with her. They are armed, but Valentino’s men replace their silver bullets with standard bullets. The bullets will only wound you but not kill you. You can keep the few humans busy, that is, with the human woman while your grandmother fights her,” He mind-links me back, and I am pleased. I do not want to intervene in the fight between the woman and my grandmother as it is my grandmother’s fight. I am happy to stand by and watch. I know my grandmother can take her down, and I want to see that woman’s face when she comes face to face with a pissed-off she-wolf. I bet she has never seen one like that in the wild. She is only used to bulling she-wolves and wolves in captivity. I am ready to see her piss her pants when she sees a werewolf shift and become a killing machine. I bet she never saw that, as she is always used to having protection. The human must not be very clever or overconfident as she did not ask my grandmother not to bring security. Maybe she and her human buddies thought they could catch many wolves at once. Luckily, we have intercepted all their communications, so they can not even call for help from the base or the main base. As we reach the river, we see the human woman standing there, but we can smell the few troops she has with her, and Walker and I, with our men, move around to intercept them. They can watch and see a real werewolf in action that is not captured and wild; maybe they will realize we are not stupid and not creatures to mess with. The human woman sees my grandmother walking up to her and smiles. I know she is not planning on facing my grandmother alone.

“I see you had the guts to come,” The human says.

“I do, and I see you brought some men with you,” My grandmother says.

“I have no one with me,” The human lies.

“You must think we are stupid creatures. We are not your men and will not help you today. You will have to fight a wild wolf for the first time in your life without help from your men,” My grandmother says with a grin.

“Shoot her!” The human shouts, but we have the men in our grips and no shot sounds.

“What is wrong, human-bitch? You have no backup?” My grandmother asks as she starts shifting. The human woman screams in terror as she sees a wild wolf shift for the first time, and she does not expect it to look like that at all. Werewolf movies are nothing to what it looks like. I laugh, as I know the human must be shitting her pants by now.
