Paris’ POV

We are done and could not replace any more rogues in the area. Peter and Jolene are coming with us to the Kingdom. The humans are still unaware of the base we moved away from our Kingdom. They think that humans still run the base and have moved to an area where the wolves have moved too. We run back to the Kingdom, and I see Peter enjoying his new freedom and his mate. They are still young and playful. I am also young, but I had to grow up fast behind the Queen of a Kingdom is a lot of responsibility. It was my destiny to become Queen, according to Jeff and the rest that believe in the legacy. Walker and I were not trained to be King or Queen, and we had to learn fast. Jeff is still giving us history lessons when we have the time and sit around the campfire at night. We are almost back in the Kingdom and don’t know what will happen in the future. We only know we need to get back to the states and go and see what is happening to the wolfpacks there. Humans think we are only wealthy humans that live in an old castle, and we live near a town where werewolves live like humans, but the humans do not know that the Kingdom is all werewolves, and we try to stay away from them and protect them from a distance.

The vampires in this area have long been killed, and the humans here are safe from them, but we know they are creatures of the night, but unlike us, the Moon Goddess is not their goddess. Who knows who they pray to? I don’t think they have a god or goddess they pray to, as they think of themselves as gods. They believe they are invisible, and if they can kill all the werewolves with the help of humans, they will be masters ruling the earth. Jeff told us all this as that is how vampires thought for years. At first, they tried to cause trouble between werewolves and hunters, but true hunters did not fall for their tricks and did not let the vampires use them to kill us. They would give hunters money to replace and kill us, and for a while, it worked until our ancestors fell away from the hunters. Val and his hunters followed us here but soon realized their mistake and made friends, fighting with us. There are still evil hunters out there that will catch or kill werewolves for money, and we call them bounty hunters. They do not realize that the hunters will be outnumbered if they kill us, and the vampires will kill them fast. Leaving humans unprotected and without help will make the vampires the strongest creatures on earth, and they can turn the world into their feeding ground. Using humans as their livestock and sometimes for entertainment. If only the bounty hunters and humans realize what danger they will be without us. We are the protectors of humankind. If humans only recognize that we are their only hope of not being turned into slaves by vampires, they will stop hunting us, and the bounty hunters that work for the vampires do not know that their lives will be worth nothing without us, as the vampires will outnumber hunters.

“Jeff, do you think the vampires are behind all this?” I ask Jeff.

“I do not think so, Queen. I know so! They are sneaky bastards that will promise you the world and then kill you or make you their slave without blinking an eye,” Jeff answers me.

“How and where do we replace them and how do we kill them?” I ask as I have never met one before and never fought one before.

“Well, Queen, a werewolf bite can kill a vampire and only the b***d of an original can heal them, but the original vampires have not been seen in a long time and no one knows if they are still alive,” Jeff says.

“What happens if a wolf bites an original vampire?” I ask.

“Nothing. You need to rip their cold-blooded hearts out of their chests or kill them with a white oak stake. We do have some white oak stakes that we hid a long time ago and only I know where they are, as only I was alive when we hit them. We do not know if we will have to fight them, but I think we will have to as I have a feeling they are the ones who want to rule the world and they want to kill us and make humans their slaves. The originals are nasty creatures as they have no soul and will do anything to keep on living,” Jeff says.

“Have you met them before?” I ask Jeff.

“Yes, one time, and I wish I never have. I was still on the main land and they were ruling in Russia. They have started to make humans their slaves and took human girls as their s*x slaves. They came into our town where they started with their s**t, but they did not know that we were there. The werewolves and some of the loyal hunters. We started killing their slaves, which they turned into vampires and one of their youngest brothers. They were pissed off, but when they realized we had white oak stakes they left, but not before they killed one of my best friends,” Jeff says. I can see he is deep in thought, as if he is thinking back to that day.

“Who made the vampires? I know the Moon Goddess put us here to defend humans against them, but how did vampires come to be?” I ask Jeff to take his mind of the death of his friend.

“They were cursed. What I know about them is they were a family that lived in sin and did not respect the gods. They got into trouble with the Sun God and he cursed them to walk the earth forever with a bloodlust that will never go away. They will never see his face again and will live in darkness,” Jeff says.

“Wow, so he gave them eternal life and told them they have to drink b***d for the rest of their lives? Was he stupid or drunk or something?” I ask. I can not believe a god can be that stupid.

“I think he was so angry at what they did that he did not think about his curse,” Jeff says. He obviously does not want to piss off the Sun God. Maybe I should not piss him off as well, but I believe in the Moon Goddess and knows she will protect me from the Sun God. Well, I hope so because I kind of insulted him a lot right now.

“Sorry, Son God, please do not curse me,” I pray silently.

“Moon Goddess, if I pissed the Sun God off please protect me from his curse,” I pray to the Moon Goddess just in case the Sun God does not forgive me.

“You think the Sun God will curse me? I did not mean to piss him off,” I say to Jeff. Jeff laugh.

“The gods don’t get pissed off that easily, Queen. He is probably laughing,” Jeff says.

“Well, then I am glad, but I prayed to the Sun God for forgiveness and the Moon Goddess for protection against his curse,” I say. Jeff laughs and I am happy I could make him forget about the death of his friend.

“I still think we are dealing with the original, Queen, and it will be deadly if we have to fight them. Some of us will not make it and we will have to have a strong team to beat them. You must remember that in the old times they did not have all the help of the new technology we have today. I think they are staying under the radar. I do not trust them. You do not know what foul creatures they are. They do not care about anything. Unlike our werewolves, the vampires do not mind having a lot of mates and sometimes have harems. They have lots of mates and like to have s*x with a lot of partners. We are built to have one mate in a lifetime. In my case, it is different because I have lived a lot of lifetimes and the Moon Goddess must have had mercy on my poor soul and always gave me a mate. Sometimes I went years without a mate after my last mate died and I felt terrible every time my mates died. I could not become rogue as I have already sinned too much and being a rogue was not the answer to my problems. I had to keep my human side, as it was my duty and my curse to protect the kingdoms with the Kings and Queens of old. I hope this is the last life I live as I am getting tired and I want to return to my Goddess and rest,” Jeff says. I feel sorry for him as I know how hard it had to be for him to have mate after mate and lose them again. I wonder if he ever had pups.

“Did you ever have pups?” I ask.

“No, as I did not want to have children and see them die before I did. It would have been too much for me to handle, my Queen,” Jeff says.

“So do the originals have children and do they have the same powers as them?” I ask.

“They have, but their children and the ones they turned will die with their bloodline if they die,” Jeff says.

“How do you know that?” I ask.

“Remember the one brother we killed? When we killed him, all the vampires around him died as they were his children and the ones he turned. We could not believe our luck when they all turned into dust and we did not have to fight all of them anymore. It was a blessing. My friend gave his life to stick that white oak stake into the heart of the original. I watched my friend die when he killed an original. He was our hero and we gave him a special funeral. So, the only one of us that ever killed an original vampire did it by dying. So that is why I say some of us will die fighting them,” Jeff says.

“Let us hope that we do not have to fight them then,” I say.

“I know we can hope, but they have been too silent for too long, my Queen, and I know for a fact they are up to something. They do not know where our kingdoms are and I think they are using humans to try and replace out where all the werewolves are. That is why we need to keep the Kingdom a secret, because we will need to protect ourselves against the originals, the vampires and humans in the future. I do not know how we are going to protect and fight humans, but I think for now we need to concentrate on protecting innocent humans and not worry so much about the soldiers and military that are working against us. I know you still feel guilty about killing those human soldiers, but we were just protecting our own,” Jeff says.

“I know Jeff and it still breaks my heart to think of those humans that must have families at home waiting for them, but I also realize to save the world we live in we need to kill the evil ones and keep the good ones,” I says. Walker has joined us and has listened to us talking about the originals.

“How do we get the originals, Jeff? Where do we replace them?” Walker asks.

“They do not move far away from their original home as they have protection there, most vampires are around their original home,” Jeff says.

“Well, we first have to save our own and most humans and take out those vampires that are not originals. We need to go to the states and sort them out. If we can get to the wolves there and maybe get some hunters and humans to work with us, we can help the world as we know it and after we clean out the rest of the world from vampires, we can face off with the originals and kill them and their bloodlines once and for all,” I say.
