Chapter 55

Paris’ POV

We land on a private airstrip near the Cloverfield pack. I am not so sure they will accept me as their Luna, as I am not sure I am good enough for the Cloverfield pack. Everyone knows how they are and how they only accept special wolves in their pack, and I am just an ordinary wolf that happened to be the granddaughter of a corrupt King in a Kingdom far from here. I do not believe that I am special in any way or form. I know the legacy speaks of Walker and me, according to Jeff, but I am not sure it is all true. What can I do to help the special wolves and even the vampire with us to save the wolves? I can fight, but so can many other wolves.

“Honey, relax. They will love you, and you are very special,” Walker says, and I know he can feel my insecurities. There is a car waiting for us, and I know they knew we were coming as Walker and the rest of the Kingdom can now communicate with the wolves here, thanks to Mariam. A giant wolf gets out of the SUV and opens the door for us. He is Native American, and he is big. I have to look up at him, but he does not smile and looks unfriendly. I look down and get in the car with Walker. Walker is as tall as the wolf that opened the door for us and greets the wolf, who greets him back and calls him Alpha.

“Ace, this is your Luna, Paris,” Walker says.

“Welcome home, Luna,” Ace says as he closes the SUV door. Other cars are picking up the rest of our crew.

“Thank you, Ace. I hope I am the Luna you all wanted and do not disappoint you,” I say. Ace smiles, and I am a little surprised.

“You are more than we hoped for, Luna. I can sense you are strong and special. The elders will love you as they were always afraid that Walker would end up with a weak wolf, but they have no worries about that now. You are strong and will protect the wolves of this earth,” Ace says.

“Ace is a powerful shaman, like Aldo and Dakota, but just stronger and not a coward like they used to be,” Walker explains.

“I am glad Aldo and Dakota are back. I can sense they have gotten some courage. The elders will be happy to have them back. They are not bad wolves and have powers that we can use,” Ace says.

“How is the pack doing?” Walker asks.

“We are doing well. The government does not like to intervene with the Native Americans, as you know, but other packs around us are not doing so well. Some of their wolves have disappeared, and we all know the government got them. We used our magic to keep the government away from as many packs as possible, but I am glad you brought us some of those small devices so we can help the other packs not be detected,” Ace says.

“We will leave you as much help as possible before we leave, but for now, we need to figure out what is going on in the national parks here and why so many humans are disappearing in the parks. What is happening? Is it rogues?” Walker asks.

“No, Alpha, it is the dogmen the government is experimenting with. They are wolves, but the implants in their brains make them worse than rogues. They are killing machines, and I think the government has lost control of them as some of these dogmen have been spotted in towns and cities lately. The government is trying to cover it up, but they can not cover it all up, and people have cell phones and cameras that are taking videos and pictures of these dogmen. Everyone is wondering what is going on, and I think the military is panicking as they have flown in a VIP to help them with the problem. We do not know who this VIP is, but we know it is not a human,” Ace says. I am impressed with how much Ace and the Cloverfield pack know.

“I think it can be the original vampire sitting behind all of this,” I say.

“You are right, Luna. We can feel his evil presence here. We know he is in America at the moment and that he is planning something with this government. We think they are creating these dogmen only in Europe and America. The rest of the world is still safe as far as we can tell,” Ace says.

“You did your homework as always, Ace. I am glad to have you and the elders to help us,” Walker says.

“We help where we can, but we will have one hell of a war as we will have to save both the humans and the wolves,” Ace says.

“I know, and the vampires are all behind it, as they want to rule the world. We have two originals that want to fight on our side. Not all the vampires want a world like the old original vampire wants, and they want to live among us in peace and harmony,” Walker says.

“I know, Alpha. We have many vampire friends, and they all warned us about Mikhael. They say he is evil and wants us all dead, and he wants all of them to follow him and help him kill all of us with the help of humans,” Ace says.

“We will not let that happen, and we will use some of our vampire friends to help fight for freedom and help them to live in peace with us as well. The world can be at peace if we eliminate all the evil in our midst. Some werewolves are evil and do not have a human side anymore, and we need to help or kill them, as we will kill the evil humans and vampires,” I say.

“I like the way you think, Luna. Together we are stronger,” Ace says.

“Have you found a mate yet, Ace?” Walker asks.

“You know me, Alpha. I am not looking for trouble,” He laughs.

“Yeah, you and Jonathan are the same, but Jonathan has found his mate,” Walker says.

“Hahaha, I hope she is teaching him a lesson or two,” Ace laughs.

“She is a magical wolf, and she has not accepted him yet,” I laugh.

“Good, he deserves it. He is nothing but a gigolo.” Ace laughs.

“He was now, he is like a love-sick pup,” I laugh.

“I got to see that,” Ace laughs.

“You will. His mate’s name is Mariam, and she is a redhead,” Walker laughs.

“That will treat him right for always going on with the single she-wolves. I hope she gives him all the hell he needs to get,” Ace says.

“She is, but she will eventually accept him. She also has a first mate that regrets rejecting her and is now chasing after her,” Walker says.

“I feel sorry for him the day he meets Jonathan. Jonathan might have been a gigolo, but he is one hell of a fighter, and he will fight til the death for his mate,” Ace says. We have been driving for a while now, and I see the entrance to the Cloverfield pack grounds. I feel nervous again, and Ace looks at me in the rearview mirror. I am biting my nails as I always do when I am worried.

“You have nothing to be so nervous about, Luna. The elders have already accepted you as their Luna and think you are great. Stop worrying. I can see you are nervous,” Ace says.

“Well, I can not help it. I heard so much about the Cloverfield pack and how they only accept special wolves, and I do not think I am that special,” I am being honest.

“Baby, you captured my heart and beat the living s**t out of many trained fighters. How can you not know how special you are?” Walker asks. Walker tells Ace about the fights we had, and Ace smiles.

“I am glad the Luna is so strong. I respect you, Luna, as I know you are a worthy Queen of the werewolves, and the Moon Goddess will not choose a weak she-wolf as the Queen of werewolves. I think you are more special than you think,” Ace says. I can see the admiration he has for me in his eyes. Walker can see it as well, but I know he knows his men respect him as their Alpha and King, and he does not have to worry about them trying to hit on his Luna and Queen.

“She is one special she-wolf, Ace. I am glad you already admire my Luna. She will help us a lot with the wolves here in America, and we have the help of other special she-wolves. You will meet them, but they have mates,” Walker says.

“Damn, just my luck,” Ace laughs. As we drive into the grounds, the most beautiful black horse runs to the SUV with his lovely white mare.

“Looks like Midnight missed you, Alpha, and he brought Daylight with him,” Ace says and looks surprised.

“Daylight has never accepted one of us, and I wonder if she was waiting for my Luna,” Walker says. Ace stops the car, and I get out. I am afraid the horses will run away as they are scared of wolves. To my surprise, the two horses walk toward us, and the white horse walks straight toward me. She pushes her nose against my hand as if she wants to make friends. I touch her lightly, not to scare her, but she bends down on one knee as if inviting me to get on her back. I do not let her ask me twice, and I get on her back. I have never ridden a horse before, but it felt natural as she starts running around the SUV with me, as if she is waiting for Midnight and Walker to join us.

“She has accepted our Luna, and it shows that you made the right choice when you took Queen Paris as your Luna, King Walker,” An elderly woman says who is standing behind the SUV. The other cars have stopped behind us, and everyone is surprised to see a horse accepting a wolf so easily. Walker gets on Midnight, and then we ride off to the big packhouse in the distance. I enjoy the wind in my hair and can not believe I am riding a horse. It feels magical. I look at Walker, who is smiling at me.

“I love seeing you so happy and free,” Walker says.

“I love it, babe. I can not believe I feel so free and that she accepted me,” I say.

“I remember the first time I took Midnight out for a ride. It does feel magical, and I loved it as much as you love it now,” Walker says. We ride side by side to the packhouse, and I wish it could last forever in my heart. It feels like I have no worries in the world and do not have to worry about the upcoming fight for our survival. I know I will have to return to reality soon, but I want this magical moment to last just a few more moments. It is as if Daylight can feel my need to be free for a few more moments, and she starts running around the packhouse a few times, followed by Walker and Midnight. The wolves look at us and smile as they see us playing with the horses like children. I can see the admiration on the faces of the wolves as they look at us and starts chanting.

“The King and Queen of werewolves! Welcome home,” The wolves chant. I feel like I have come home with my King, the one I love with all my heart. My Alpha, my mate, and my King.
