Rejected, Broken And Forgotten -
Chapter 61
Walker’s POV
The full moon is rising. We are waiting for Wayne and Herman to turn for the first time. We know how dramatic it can be for a new wolf to turn for the first time, as they are not used to their bones shifting and breaking to get into position. It is bad enough for young wolves, but those who are turned at an older stage in their life will be even worse as they do not know how bad and hurtful it can be. Young wolves can still handle the pain more than older wolves. We wait until the moon has moved into its position high in the sky, and then we look at Herman and Wayne. They start screaming as their bones start moving into place.
We know how much it hurts to shift the first time, and in a way, I like watching them suffer. Humans do not understand what we go through until they experience it themselves for the first time. So yeah, in a way, I am sadistic. I do like to see them suffer and understand us better. Humans think of werewolves as killers of their kind, while we must suffer through our first shift to protect them. They do not always realize what we must go through, and the first shift is one of the worst things we have to go through. They will only understand what we are about once they become full wolves. I can see the smile on Paris’s face. I know she is thinking the same as I am. Humans think it is easy to become a werewolf as they make it look easy in movies. It is ten times worse than in the films. You break, and the bones move into place to become a wolf from human form. When you shift halfway, it does not feel any better, as you will have to break bones and move bones to get them into the position to make you half-man and half-wolf.
Herman is crying out in pain, and Wayne is trying to show us how tough he is until his first bones break to move into place. He shouts out loud in pain, and we watch them as if we do not know what and how they will react to the first shift. Herman goes full wolf, but it is as if Wayne wants to give up halfway and stay half-wolf and half-human, but we can not allow him to do that, so, as they are now wolves in our pack, I order him to do the entire shift. As the Alpha, I can do things like that, as we need to force some of our young to make the change and not stay half-human and half-wolf, as the last part is the most painful. Since the dogmen we, my men, caught on our land had their chips removed, they are now part of our pack as we accepted them and the one that scratched him is one of my men. Now he has to obey his Alpha.
“I can not do that. Alpha. Do not make me do it, please,” Wayne begs. I laugh at him.
“Remember what you did to the dogmen? Now you can not handle the pain? Sorry, but you will shift into a full wolf,” I say. Wayne screams out in pain as he shifts to a wolf. As he stands up from the ground, he shakes off the dust.
“It was not that bad,” He growls, and we all laugh.
“Do you have a family, Wayne?” I ask.
“My name is Bruno. Wayne is gone for the moment, but no, he does not have a family,” Bruno, his wolf, growls.
“Good, now let us all go for a run so they can feel the freedom,” I say. The dogmen also shifted in full for the first time and felt how it felt to be a full werewolf. I can see it in their eyes. They look amazed at all the feeling that is running through their veins. I know that, for the first time, they can feel the Moon Goddess and her presence in the full moon. I know they can feel their purpose in life, which is to protect and not kill. I can see they are emotional, and when I look at Wayne and Herman, they feel the same as the dogmen. Well, dogmen are not dogmen anymore. They have become full wolves. They are now part of a pack that will help protect them and that they will help to protect. I howl at the moon, and my pack follows my example as I shift. Paris shifts with me, and we take our pack for a run.
Wayne runs like the wind, and I can see he is very competitive, but he will not challenge Paris or me as he knows we are his King and Queen and already respects us. Herman runs with his mate by his side, and the ex-dogmen follow Jonathan and Mariam as we run. They know who is higher in command in the pack already, and they will follow the Beta as they are all under him as he is the leader and commander of the army. We can see the moon shining brighter and lighting the path as we run. We know we have the blessing of the Moon Goddess. Paris and I know we can not leave the Kingdom for much longer as we know they can be in danger, but since we know the vampire is here, we figure we can stay a little longer and train the wolves to save the humans and the dogmen. Kristina runs with us, but as she is a vampire, she is faster than us and reaches the packhouse before us. I can see she likes to be competitive, like Wayne, and I know that it is unlikely for a vampire and a werewolf to become mates, but sometimes it does happen, and that is where hybrids come from. Not that there are many hybrids in the world, but one never knows what can happen, as I feel that Wayne and Kristina will make perfect mates, but we will see what will happen.
“Paris, what do you think of Wayne and Kristina being mates?” I mind link her and keeping our mind links private, as always.
“They will make the perfect couple,” She laughs.
“Just as I thought,” I say, laughing back at her.
“Looks like we are going to have the first hybrids in our pack,’ Paris says dryly.
“That was better than s*x,” Wayne says. Jonathan laughs.
“You obviously never had werewolf s*x. You must know we feel everything more intense than humans,’ Jonathan says. Mariam glares at Jonathan, and he runs after her to explain himself. I take.
The next moment, there is a commotion in our pack. We look to see what the hell is happening and are ready to protect our pack. We see Wayne and Kristina looking at each other and are prepared to fight each other. We jump in between, and Wayne does not look very happy. He does not know about Kristina being on our side, and we take that he is trying to protect his new new-found pack.
“What is going on here?” I ask.
“She is a vampire, I know, as I can tell. I have met many of them in my lifetime, and she does not belong here,” Wayne shouts.
“I am more welcome here than you are, human general,” Kristina shouts at Wayne.
“Okay, you two, stop it. We helped both of you, and we will appreciate it if you do not fight,” Paris says.
“Yes, we saved both of you, and you are now both fighting on our side,” I say.
“How can you trust a vampire?” Wayne asks.
“The same way, we had to trust you, Wayne. We did not know what would happen when you turned in for the first time. You could have turned rogue on us,” Paris says.
“You trusted a human that turned werewolf?” Kristina asks.
“Like we trusted you and gave you a daylight ring. You two better make friends and learn how to work together,” I say.
“I think the two of you need time together to get to know and trust each other,” Paris says.
“Yeah, lock them up in a room for a night,” I command one of my generals.
“I will kill him!” Kristina says.
“No, you will not, or we will take the ring for your brother away,” Paris says.
“Damn!” Kristina says, as we still have her brother’s ring.
“Then I will put you out of your misery and kill you, Kristina,” Wayne says.
“We will turn you back to a human,” I say, although I do not know if it is possible.
“Well, damn. It looks like you and I will have to talk, vampire,” Wane says.
“It looks like it,” Kristina says.
Third person’s POV
Kristina and Wayne are taken to a room where they can be alone. The door is closed behind them, and they sit and stare at each other, not knowing what to do. They can not kill each other as something they like will be taken away, and both of them do not want to do that.
“I hate vampires,” Wayne says at last.
“I used to hate werewolves, until I found out what they are all about. Not all werewolves are good, but not all are good either,’ Kristina says.
“So you want to tell me not all vampires are bad?” Wayne asks.
“Yes, I am not an evil vampire, and I will like to help humans as much as that surprises you. My brother Roman is just like me, but my dad does not let him out of his sight, so I have to save my brother,” Kristina says.
“So not all vampires are like your father, who promised us eternal life and wealth beyond what we will ever know. Did he even mean it?” Wayne asks.
“What do you think?” Kristina asks.
“I don’t think he meant it. Well, not anymore,” Wayne says.
“He never meant it. He will never give you any of his wealth, and he might have given you eternal life, but to be his slave. He will let you run humans for him, and he is planning to enslave them as food,” Kristina says.
“So you rebelled against your father?” Wayne asks.
“Not only me, my brother Roman as well, but my father does not know we are rebelling against him, and to be honest, I do not know if I can trust my brother Roman. I need to put this ring on his finger where we are alone, so I can see if he means what he says or not,” Kristina says.
“I can help you with that. Your father will not know I am a werewolf, but he still knows me as one of his trusted men. We need help from Herman so he can not detect me as a werewolf,” Wayne says.
“Do you trust me?” Kristina asks.
“Honey, I will need to trust you as I am about to put my life in your hands,” Wayne says.
“Are you sure you will do it for me?” Kristina asks.
“I am sure I can trust you because, honey, if the wolves put that ring on your finger, they trust you, and you said something about putting that ring on your brother’s finger to see if you can trust him,” Wayne says.
“Yes, if this ring is put on a bad vampire, it will turn into dust, and Miriam magically creates it,” Kristina says.
“How sure are you about it? Miriam just created it, and who says it works?” Wayne asks.
“I tried it on one of the vampires working for my father. When the King and Queen were gone to set up your camp in the park. I met with one of my so-called friends and let them try on the ring. They turned into dust as soon as they touched that ring, so I know it works,” Kristina says.
“So you did not trust Mariam?” Wayne ask.
“No, I told her I was going to test it, and she sent Aldo and Dakota with me,” Kirstina says. That night, Kristina and Wayne started to form a bond. A bond no one will realize how strong it can become until much later. Not even Kristina and Wayne realized how close they had become that night. The Moon Goddess smiles down on them that night, knowing what important role they will play coin the upcoming war.
