Rejected, Broken And Forgotten -
Chapter 84
Third person’s POV
Mariam looks at Luca and Mariana as they hug each other. She and Cadilla start chanting to keep the tunnels and entrances secret. Not even from the skies will someone be able to see it. Mariam smiles as she looks at Jonathan, standing close to her. he will never let her go anywhere alone. She is glad she accepted him as her mate and that they are now one. Cadilla and Roman are standing close to each other, and Luca wonders if his brother has found his mate or if Cadilla does not want to accept him for what he is. He knows how difficult it is to get someone to love you for what you are when you are a vampire. Not everyone wants to live forever. Luca is glad Mariana will do it with him and stay with him forever, but gypsies like Cadilla are a different story. They believe in freedom, and death is a kind of freedom to them as they believe their spirits will be set free forever to travel to new places. He hopes that Roman can convince Cadilla that her spirit will still be free if she is a vampire and that she can still travel the world and see everything she wants to if she is with him.
Cadilla looks at Roman. He has not asked her if she wants him to turn her yet. She does not know what she would do if he as her as she does not want to be a vampire, but does she want to live without Roman or let him be with someone else? She does not know. She only knows when they are together, they are happy, and her soul feels complete. He is her soulmate, and she can feel his sensitivity. What if she refuses him, and he kills himself? He is capable of doing something like that if she rejects him. He is an artistic soul that loves art and all the beautiful things in this world. Will it be so bad to live with him forever? No, it will not, and if she accepts him, it will set her free somehow. She wants him to ask her to be his mate while Miriam is there with them and can give her the tattoo. She wants to be free like the vampires are in some way. They are different from other creatures as they have no rules like the werewolves and do not have to live like the gypsies, who can marry more than one person at a time. Vampires can have many mates if they choose to, or they can have one. They have no rules. They are free more than gypsies, werewolves, and humans. They do not live by rules or history or tradition as they do not care about that. They live day by day and as life treats them. Luca, Kristina, and Roman all have their own personalities and their own love for life. They also have fallen in love with a different creature and do not care. They only care about the one they love.
Roman looks at Cadilla and wonders if he can ask her to be his mate. Will she become a vampire for him? he does not know, but he guesses he will never know if he does not ask her. He takes Cadilla by the hand after she and Miriam stop chanting, knowing that the Castle’s entrances and tunnels are secured. They walk into the cave as the night is staring to fall again. He knows it took a lot out of Cadilla and Miriam to chant all day to keep their secret. He holds Cadilla as he can feel she is weak from all the magic they had to use all day. He will wait until tomorrow to ask her if she is willing to be his mate for eternity. He knows, as well as Luca, how difficult it is to be a vampire. He did not ask for it, but he is what he is and can not change what he is. It is all their father’s fault that they are the monsters they had to become. He has to be a bloodthirsty monster and hates being dependent on human b***d to survive, but he can not change his fate. He is so in love with Cadilla that he will do anything for her. He will even rip his heart out and give it to her if that is what she wants. Roman is very dramatic as he is very artistic, and in his mind, he can see himself ripping his heart out and handing it to her while he dies dramatically. Roman is a romantic at heart and gets tears in his eyes as he thinks about it.
“What is wrong, my love?” Cadilla asks.
“Nothing, I was just thinking about handing my heart over to you,” He says.
“I thought you loved me already,” Cadilla says.
“I do, but I was thinking about ripping my heart out and handing it to you while I die. I will do that for you,” Roman says.
“I will never ask you to do that for me, but I will ask you to turn me into a vampire so I can be with you for the rest of my life,” Cadilla says.
“You will? Oh, dear Moon Goddess, I want to turn you so you can be with me forever. I can not think of a life without you,” Roman says.
“So let us do it!” Cadilla says.
“But are you not too weak from all the power you used today? It would be best if you did not get hurt, and we will have to ask Miriam to give you a tattoo, and you saw what Mariana went through,” Roman says.
“Baby, I am stronger than you think, and I think it is time that I become a gypsy vampire. Don’t you think so?” Cadilla asks.
“Only if you are sure you are strong enough to go through all the pain with the tattoo and everything,” Roman answers.
“Wait, what is written against the wall?” Cadilla asks before we can tie her down. None of the creatures has seen the writing on the wall before, and they all walk closer to see what is written there. Luca is surprised that he and Mariana have been here for so long and have not seen the writing before.
“I pray to thee, the Sun God, to curse my family,
I know that you are almighty and can bring revenge for me.
My son and his wife are evil and will destroy he, whoever stands in the way
of what you have to see. Curse their friends and family and even their children-to-be,
I have no guarantee that they will be like me. So curse him and his wife and family.
But if the children show hope, have mercy, and set them free through love.
Like a white dove flying in the sky above. Let them know I did this out of love.
Give them back their souls so they will never live without goals, but let them know to appreciate the one they love as you do for us from above,”
Luca stares at his grandfather’s handwriting on the wall. What does this mean? Did their grandfather curse them through the Sun God? Did he beg for them if they were good not to be left like this as vampires forever? Did he beg the Sun God to give them back their souls if they were not like their father? Luca and Roman know their grandfather’s handwriting. They read the little poem again. Does this mean someone can not see the tunnels from above? What the hell does all of this mean?
“It means your grandfather was praying for you not to be like your father and hoping you would stay protected even after the curse. He knew you were not bad, but your brother that died was, so he could not keep all of you out of the curse. He needed to protect the good ones but read the response underneath,” Miriam says.
“I am the Sun God, and I heard your prays.
I will let you know that someone cares,
You are my child, and I have seen all the wrongs of your son
even humans write about his evil in songs.
I curse thee, son, to live at night, never to have my face in his sight.
He will live by night for eternity
because of his vanity
His children will be cursed, but I will keep an eye on the worst.
The good ones will be set free by true love
And magic will set them free like the dove.”
“Wow, I had no idea that was there,” Luca says.
“I have not seen it either,” Mairaina says.
“What does this all mean?” Roman asks.
“It means the Sun God sent you us to love you, and with magic, he set your souls free, he, unfortunately, cursed you for eternity, which means he can not take it back, but he can give you a reason to live for if you are good,” Cadilla says. Roman looks at her and smiles.
“So, are you ready to live with me for eternity?” He asks. He loves the drama of it all. Luca is a little upset that his grandfather, whom he loved and respected, cursed all of them, but then he thinks about it, and he realizes his grandfather must have been afraid that they would all turn out like his father. His one brother did and got killed for it, but at least his grandfather also gave them a way to regain their souls.
“I am ready to save your soul with my eternal love,” Cadilla says to Roman.
They tie her to the stone where they previously tied Mariana up. Roman walks over to her and k****s her, then he bends over and k****s her neck. He bites slowly into her neck and starts drinking her b***d to the point where she is ready to turn but not die. He lets go of her, and Cadilla starts to turn as soon as she wakes up from her slumber. Miriam starts chanting, and the tattoo shows up on Cadilla’s arm. Roman smiles as he sees the love of his life turn into what he is and knows they will be together forever. As they untie Cadilla and give her b***d to drink, she smiles at Roman, walks over to him, and k****s him with the b***d still on her lips. Roman licks her lips, and she lets him k**s her.
As they are all happy in the cave, they hear the planes flying over them, and they know the pilots and their equipment will replace nothing as they know their magic is strong. Luca, Mariana, Roman, and Cadilla run into the Castle, while Miriam and Jonathan stay outside in the cave. They will remain there in case the pilot picks something up they need to hide while the others will go and spy and hear if the human equipment picks up anything. If they do, Miriam will cover it up with her magic so when they fly by again, they will think they made a mistake.
“Sir, no tunnels or anything leading to the Castle except for the waterways that lead from the springs to the Castle,” The pilot says.
“So there is nothing?” Mikhail asks. Luca listens carefully as the water, and the springs are where they get in sometimes.
“No, sir,” The pilot says. He is on a loudspeaker, so everyone can hear when he talks.
“The waterways do it leads into the Castle?” Mikail asks. Luca holds his breath as he does not want his father or his men near the springs.
“No sir, they all stop where I think plantations were before,” The pilot says.
“Yeah, my poor excuse for a father used to plant every year and let the villagers have the food. Such a weakling! So we still do not have an explanation for the killing yet! f**k I was hoping we had a secret tunnel or something explaining why our vampires get killed all the bloody time,” Mikhail shouts.
