She and Rita didn't have a close relationship because she had spent most of her time abroad andwould only visit the Gould Residence during Rita's birthday.

Nicole assured Rita that she was fine, but Rita seemed to have found out from somewhere that Evelynhad something to do with this. So, she held Nicole's hand and promised, "Nicole, don't you worry. I willget you justice. If Evelyn does have something to do with this, I won't let Siobhan cover for her."

When Nicole heard that, she felt touched because she and Rita hadn't known each other for long, butRita had always taken her side.

Tears uncontrollably appeared inside Nicole's eyes as she spoke in a choked voice. "Thank you, OldMrs. Gould, but the truth has yet to be found, and no one can prove that Evelyn had a hand in this. Solet's just forget it."
