Saving His Feral Mate -
Chapter 51: The twins are now my priority
Alpha Cameron POV
In a fit of rage I threw the bottle whiskey I had been holding against the wall and it shattered all over my office floor. I didn’t stop there, I grabbed item after item from my desk and threw them across the room. My Beta was doing his best to avoid the items I launched in his direction.
“Get out!” I roared and he quickly left the room, shutting the door behind him.
To say I was angry would an understatement, I was livid. I got home from the Alpha meeting to discover my Gamma dead, but that wasn’t even the worst part. My bank account had been drained and a very important thumb drive stolen.
My f*****g brothers crossed a dangerous line tonight, if war was what they wanted, that’s exactly what they’ll get. I will stop at nothing until I kill those two cockroaches with my bare hands.
I don’t know how they managed to drain my bank account, but they did. They took all 12 million dollars that belonged to me. I have NOTHING left. Not only that, but they took the thumb drive. The contents alone on that thumb drive could cause some major problems. The council cannot replace out the truth. I’m the Alpha of this f*****g pack, now and forever. I won’t let anyone take it away from me.
I snatched the note from my desk and read it for the 10th time, only making my rage amplify.
“Dear brother,
Thanks for the money, it was very thoughtful of you to leave it all in one account. Saved us a lot of time. If you’re hungry, I think there’s a food bank on 4th Street.”
See you soon little bro.
Ps. The next time we do see you, it will be to take back our rightful title.”
I knew it was meant to taunt me and well… It f*****g worked. I wanted them dead. I want their b***d on my hands.
I crumple up the paper in my hand and threw it across the room, before turning around and punching a hole in the wall. I was on the verge of snapping and if I did, I’d likely kill anyone that came near me.
I took a few deep breaths and sat at my desk. I remembered the 6 warriors that were on patrol last night were waiting in the hallway. I had called for them earlier. I blamed their incompetence for all of this. If they had done their job properly, my brothers wouldn’t have been able to enter the territory unnoticed. They will be punished accordingly.
“Dale! Get in here.” I roared and within seconds the door opened. Dale stood in the doorway looking nervous. He was one of the warriors that had been on patrol.
“Get Tessa in here to cleanup this mess.” I ordered angrily. He flinched at my command, but didn’t leave the doorway.
“What the hell are you waiting for? Get her.” I once again ordered.
“A-Alpha s-she’s not h-here.” He stuttered nervously. I could smell the fear seeping out of his pores.
“What do you mean she’s not here?” I asked in a dangerously calm voice, while standing from the chair and stalking towards him.
“N-No one can f-replace her. W-We’ve s-searched the entire t-territory. S-She’s gone.” He replied and I could see his body trembling.
His words pushed me over the edge. I didn’t like Tessa, but she was important to me. Every time I hurt her, it reminded me of Chloe and that gave me some form of satisfaction. Now that Tessa was gone, I had nothing left that was important to my mate.
Within seconds my hands wrapped around Dale’s throat and I snapped his neck, before dropping his lifeless body on the floor.
“The rest of you, get in here.” I barked out and watched the other five warriors rush into the room. They froze when they noticed Dale’s dead laying on the ground, but quickly recomposed themselves and presented their necks in a sign of submission. My Beta entered behind them and stood by the door.
I could see the sheer panic on everyone’s face except for one of the warriors, Toby. I never liked the guy, I wasn’t exactly sure why I dislike him, but I did. He never seemed intimidated by my Alpha aura and that irritated me. The only reason I kept him around, was because he was one of my strongest warriors. He was also the head trainer.
“How did anyone get in here unnoticed?” I asked no one in particular.
“W-We don’t k-know, A-Alpha.” One of the warriors replied and within seconds I had snapped his neck. I wasn’t going to accept that as an answer. They had one job to do, guard the territory and they failed. I wanted a proper explanation and I was going to continue killing until I got one.
I moved to stand directly in front of Toby. His eyes were looking down at ground, but I could tell he wasn’t fearful of me.
“How did they get in unnoticed.” I asked again, standing only inches away from Toby. My voice was dangerously calm and should have been enough to intimidate anyone.
“You took half the warriors that were scheduled for patrol with you to the meeting. Six warriors wasn’t nearly enough to properly cover the entire border, Alpha.” Toby replied, his voice was firm and void of fear. As soon as he finished his sentence, I punched him square in the face. His head flew back on impact, but he quickly recomposed himself. He seemed unfazed by my outburst, it both irritated and impressed me at the same time.
I wanted to kill him, heck I wanted to kill all of them, but I had already killed two warriors. If I continued on my rampage, I wouldn’t have any left.
“Chain them up outside, no water or food.” I ordered.
“For how long?” My Beta asked.
“Until I feel they’ve been punished appropriately.” I replied.
“Yes Alpha.” My Beta replied, before escorting them out of my office.
What a f*****g mess. I was planning on attacking Knox soon, but that will have to wait. The twins have become my number one priority. I will stop at nothing to make sure they are dealt with accordingly. Once I have taken care of them, I can focus on getting my mate back.
Knox POV
We decided to give Jag and Tessa some privacy and left the room. I was happy for the guy, he had been waiting along time to replace his mate. She also seemed like a perfect match for him.
Chloe and her seemed to be close, they must have been friends before she left her old pack. Hopefully that helps Tessa feel more at home here.
When we reached the hallway, I noticed how upset Chloe looked. I didn’t blame her, Tessa was just another person in her life that Cameron managed hurt.
“I’m going to bed.” She said, without making eye contact with me.
“You ok?” I asked with a concerned frown.
“Ya, just tired.” She replied and I knew it was a lie, but didn’t push her.
“Ok. I won’t be long, I just need to have a word with the twins and I’ll be up after.” I said before leaning down and kissing her forehead.
She went into our room, while Jo and I headed for my office. I needed to get this meeting over with quickly so that I could get back to Chloe. I was worried about her, I hated seeing her upset.
We got to the office and found Max, the twins and the guy that I didn’t recognize, still seated inside.
Max and one of the twins were on the couch, while the other two sat in front of the desk. I took my seat at the desk, while Jo went and sat next to Max.
“Is your Beta ok?” Preston asked with a concerned frown.
“Ya, Tessa’s his mate.” I replied.
“s**t, glad we brought her here then.” Parker said.
“I would keep her presence here on the down low. Cameron won’t be happy if he replaces out we brought her here.” Preston added.
“I’ll talk to Jag, we’ll likely have to keep her out of sight for now. We already know there’s a rat in the pack, someone’s been leaking information to Cameron and Alec.” I replied and they nodded in understanding.
“What about Max? What are we going to do about Alec?” Jo asked and his voice turned bitter when he mentioned Alec’s name.
“I think we need to replace somewhere to hide her for now. I need time to replace evidence that would clear her name.” I replied, while running my fingers through my hair.
“I’m leaving with the twins, don’t worry about me.” Max pipped up.
“No you’re not.” Jo growled.
“Ya I am, I can’t stay here. Alec knows where I am and it won’t be long before he sends someone to arrest me. I’m also not going to hideaway from them. I’ll leave with the twins tonight and stay near the territory, that way I can help if there’s an attack.” She replied firmly, while crossing her arms over her chest and challenging Jo with her eyes.
“Fine, if you go, I go.” Jo replied, while also crossing his arms over his chest.
“You have responsibilities here, you can’t just leave.” She argued, while rolling his eyes.
“Like you said, we won’t be far. I can come and go as I need, but at the end of the day, I’ll be sleeping with you.” He replied smugly, clearly feeling confident that he had won the argument.
“In your dreams.” Max scoffed.
“Oh, I’ll definitely be sleeping with you in my dreams and doing so much more than just sleep…” Jo started, but I cut him off.
“Stop. We really don’t need to hear about your dreams. If you leave with Max that’s fine, I just ask that you keep your phone on you and check in with me everyday. This isn’t forever, we just need some time to sort this mess out.” I replied and Jo nodded. I turned my attention to Parker who sat across from me.
“Who’s this guy.” I asked, pointed to the nerdy guy sitting beside him.
“That’s Bert, he helped us on our mission.” Parker replied.
“Did you replace what you were looking for?” I asked curiously.
“We sure did. Let’s just say Cameron might be doing a little thrift shopping in the future.” Preston replied with a proud smirk. Thrift shopping? Obviously they must have messed around with Cameron’s money somehow.
“Anything happen that we should be concerned with?” I asked.
“Nah, this one falls on us. As long as he doesn’t know Tessa’s here, you’re in the clear. This might actually slow down his attack plans.” Preston replied.
“Good.” I said.
“How was the meeting?” Parker asked.
I told them everything that happened and I saw the surprise look on everyone’s face when I mentioned the part about Xander punching Cameron.
“Interesting, they must be related.” Jo mumbled, but it was more to himself.
“Why else would he defend her?” He added, still looking deep in thought.
“Ya, I’m curious about that too. He was arrested by the council right after, so I didn’t get a chance to ask him.” I replied.
“Are you going to reach out to Alpha Victor?” Jo asked curiously.
“Ya, I will tomorrow. I’m curious what kind of punishment Xander got.” I replied.
“At least he didn’t shift, it shouldn’t be that bad.” Jo replied and I nodded.
“If that’s everything guys, I’d like to call it a night. It’s been a long day and I would like to go check on Chloe.” I informed the group.
“That’s all we got. We’ll be in touch.” Parker replied, as he stood from his chair.
“Your welcome to stay here for the night. We have a couple spare rooms.” I offered.
“Thanks, but we still have something we need to do tonight.” Preston replied and I nodded.
They all left my office, including Max and Jo. Once they were gone, I got up and headed for my room.
I was expecting to replace Chloe asleep when I opened the door, but she wasn’t. She was pacing around anxiously, so lost in thought that she didn’t even notice my presence.
“What’s wrong?” I asked and she finally noticed me.
“Nothing.” She replied shortly.
“Don’t lie to me, I can tell you’re upset.” I said, before wrapping my arms around her body and pulling her against my chest. She was tense at first, but quickly relaxed in my arms.
“I want him dead.” She replied with a frustrated sigh.
“I know you do and I promise he will be soon. You just need to be patient and trust me.” I said, while rubbing her back soothingly.
“Tatiana has been trying to take over all night. She’s pissed.” Chloe added.
“Do you think letting her out for a run with Gunner, might help?” I asked.
“Ya, that’s not a bad idea. If I don’t let her out, I won’t be get any sleep tonight.” Chloe replied with another frustrated sigh.
“Let’s go then.” I added.
Gunner was thrilled with my suggestion. He hasn’t really gotten a chance to bond with Tatiana yet. The only time they’ve been together in wolf form, was when we first met her and she tried to kill us. Hopefully we can make some better memories tonight.
