Sky’s Rejection Chapter 49

(Sky’s POV)

“How could he have done something so stupid? Does he not realize his mate was trying to get a rouse out of him and he just played into her hand. She can hold this over his head forever? Why can’t Dean just think before he acts, just once.” Dimitri rants as he plops himself into his chair, sighing from the million thoughts running through his head. I rub his neck and shoulders, hitting the pressure points to help relax him.

‘Make mate calm down, he is stressing us out.’ Rain says in annoyance.

“Mm-mm.” Di m***s as his head relaxes on the back of the chair. I rub over his chest, sending calming aura into his mind. I place gentle, loving k****s down his neck as I hum a lullaby. As he starts drifting off to sleep, I levitate his body into bed. I tuck him in, smiling down at my mate. He is perfect even without a child we could be happy. The sadness suddenly leaks through my body and I have to close my bond so that I don’t wake Dimitri with my depression. To have a child, it would be amazing in ways I couldn’t ever describe but it isn’t in the story of our lives.

‘Look at mate, he looks so cute.’ Angel coos at our mate.

‘Ariel, I need you to get Dean away from the hospital for a little bit.’ I mind linked, asking Ariel to help me here.

‘Of course, anything you need. Do you want to talk about the other day?’ Ariel mind links back, I know she is referring to how it went telling Di we wouldn’t be able to have a baby but I am not ready for that. No matter how much he said he was fine with it, I felt how sad he was through the bond and I am not sure what it was aimed at. I just know it wasn’t good.

‘Not right now. Thank you for worrying about me. I will talk to you after I deal with what I need to deal with first.’ I linked back before closing off the connection. As I entered the hospital I sniffed around and only smelt a faint amount of Dean, good. Ariel did what I asked.

I walk down the hall, heading towards Diane’s room. As I reach for the handle I take a deep breath. You can do this. I enter the room, closing the door quickly behind me. I look at a wide eyed Diane, sitting on the bed as if she was ready to get up. She begins to stutter as if I caught her in a lie.

‘She never passed out in the first place.’ Rain says in anger, she has had a temper lately.

‘Why is she hiding from her mate?’ Angel asks in confusion. I can feel how much it hurts her to think of a mate rejecting another.

“You don’t need to figure out an excuse for me, I know that you haven’t been asleep. You faked it to avoid your mate. You didn’t think he would actually stay that long with you though, now did you? You want to know a secret? He only left because I made him. Which makes me realize I need to get back on point here and quickly because he will be back as soon as possible. You and I need to talk, so get dressed and let’s go.” I said while looking at her in a dead serious way. My foot tapping, as my hands rest on my h**s. Annoyance plastered all over my face at how dumbfounded she looks, within a few seconds she realizes how serious I am and rushes to get dressed.

“Where are we going? What if my mate comes back? Are we going outside or inside? Has anyone ever told you that you look kind of scary?” Diane rambled making me want to already use magic on her to shut her up. Seriously, how does someone talk this much?

‘Can I use magic to shut her up already?’ Rain asked, excitement in her words.

‘We can’t do that. We are a Luna Queen, that’s wrong. Right Sky?’ Angel asks, these two are as bad as Diane and to deal with all three at once. Ugh.

“Just stop talking.” I snapped in annoyance as I dragged her out of the hospital towards the forest. “Let’s start with that we will go where ever I feel we need to go. Next, why do you care if Dean comes back? You rejected him in the most cruel way possible. Instead of just coming straight out and rejecting him with a good a*s reason, you just told him you didn’t want him. Who does that? Oh right, bitches. We are obviously outside now and yes people have told me I am scary. Though I could be worse. I could become your worse nightmare if I wanted to. Now I want you to stop talking and just listen, do you understand?”

“Yes.” Diane answered curtly as she shock her head in answer as well, looking terrified as she should be.

I got a mind link, trying to push through. As I opened I felt my mate’s presence. ‘Father wants to go see this oracle friend. I am sending him through the boarders now. Ariel told me where you were, everything going okay?’

‘Everything is fine. Do go with your father, losing your mother and father once was enough for me. You do understand right?’ I linked in a demanding way. My frustration with Diane leaking through the link. I could feel he wanted to question me but he chose not to.

‘Yes, mon amour.’ Dimitri said before closing the link. I know I pissed him off because there was no reason for him to be up if his father didn’t wake him. Back to my conversation with Diane.

‘Mate, mate, mate. Can we go see mate.’ Angel begs.

‘Not yet, she has to deal with out Beta female first.’ Rain answers rudely before I could. I mean I was going to tell her not yet but in a so much nicer way.

‘Why are you so mean, Rain?’ Angel whines and I decide I have to block them out or I will never get this conversation done with. They can bicker all they want where I can’t hear them.

“I thought at one point we were becoming great friends. I accepted Dean and I barely knew him when we developed a connection so if you can’t accept him or reject him with a damn good reason, I won’t be able to do anything to help you. I will get rid of you and make sure Dean is happy. I am sure you are still following with me, right?” I asked with a deathly glare, she nodded her head quickly and so I continued. “Good, so what you are going to do is get to know your mate. Learn the role of the Royal Beta Female as you will be her once you and Dean mate. You may not want him right now and I know that it may be a private reason but why don’t you listen to mine first. I was rejected, I became who I was because of that but most people don’t get a second chance, I luckily did. So did my first mate but he went insane, became obsessed with me. Now he is dead, the point is, maybe the reason you have isn’t even a reason for this problem. Just think about it.

Diane nods her head, seeming to be lost in her thoughts as I stare up at the disappearing sun. In the next few moments the stars and moon will begin to be visible. I peek at Diane and see her looking at the sky with me and realize this is exactly what both of us may have needed. The serene washes over me as I pull us towards a boulder.

It felt like hours as I watched the pinkish purple sky turn into a dark midnight blue with bright little flames of light dancing in the sky. The large moon acting as the conductor of the night and memorizing me with their beauty.

Daine’s voice cuts through the quiet night as she whispers, “I will give him a chance. My reasoning’s are not enough to hurt my mate or lose him forever.”

“Great. I am happy you will give him a chance. You two would honestly be an adorable couple. I can see it now…. Wait. Do you… hear that?” I asked as I got into a protective stance. I blocked everyone out so I have no idea if we had a breech at the boarders or not and I am not thinking I shouldn’t have done that.

“I don’t hear any…” Is all Diane got out before I shoved her to the ground and caught the dart mid air. Who the hell shot a tranquilizer dart at us? Was it meant for Diane or myself? s**t, I need to replace out what is going on. I open up the pack connection as my mind is over flown with links temporarily distracting me.

‘Luna Queen, where are you? Our Alpha King is going crazy looking for you right now.’ A warrior, Scotty, who Di trusts with all his life mind links me with worry lacing his words.

‘Sky? Everyone is searching for you. Just let me know you are safe.’ Ty mind links me, he doesn’t seem worried more annoyed than anything. He must be use to me always going of the grid with no warning now a days.

‘SKY? HAVE YOU SEEN MY MATE? THERE WAS A BREECH AND NOW SHE’S MISSING. PLEASE TELL ME YOU HAVE SEEN HER.’ Dean mind links me, panic running through his words as he seems to be lost in the thought his mate could be hurt right now.

‘Mon amour (My love), Where are you? S’il vous plaît revenir. (Please, come back.)’ The plea in his mind link made my heart ache as I longed to be in his arms. I knew I needed to head back and see Di as sadness over took me.

As I tried to pull my focus back to my surroundings I saw an unconscious Diane laying in front of me. What the hell had happened? I spun around, looking for someone who must have attacked her, but I didn’t see anyone.

All of a sudden, I felt something smash into the back of my head, causing me to black out. That is the last thing I remember as I sink completely into darkness.

(Dimitri’s POV)

I am out searching for my father’s friend. She is suppose to be an oracle or something. All I know is if she can see the future why is it that she isn’t coming to us?

My father woke me up from the best sleep I have had in years, not that he cared. Sky wasn’t there which concerned me until Ariel linked me letting me know that she went to deal with Diane. That girl is crazy and definitely trying to drive Dean over the edge of his sanity.

‘I want to go back and replace mate, something feels wrong.’ Demon whines. We won’t be gone long dude, just give father a few more minutes I thought back.

“Father is this really necessary?” I asked in confusion on why it was so important to go replace this oracle. Sky wouldn’t let my father leave without me with him. Something about losing him and my mother once was enough for a life time.

“Yes I feel something brewing and I know she could be of help to us.” My father says as he keeps looking around. Whispering to himself he says, “She should be around here somewhere.”

Here? The middle of no where? I am starting to think my father doesn’t actually know what he is talking about right now. Maybe that kidnapping did something to his mental state. Did I just follow a mental patient into the woods?

‘What is wrong with him?’ Demon asked in annoyance, he hates being away from our mate.

Ugh, only my father would do something crazy like this.

‘Alpha King, Our boarders have been compromised. Our alarm system was triggered and we are under attack on the northern side of the territory.’ My favorite warrior, Scotty ringed out in my head. f**k, this must have been planned. They were waiting for me to leave territory.

‘Set up the best warriors and hold them back, you and three others search for your Luna Queen now. She is the target, do you hear me?’ I commanded in the mind link, urgency dripping from my tone.

‘Yes Alpha King.’ Was the only response before I cut over to Dean.

‘Have you seen my mate? I can’t replace her. The boarders are compromised.’ Dean linked in a panic.

‘I know that now get your a*s out there and replace Sky. Your mate is with her. I can’t connect through our mate bond.’ I mind linked in urgency before breaking that link too.

‘I could not replace Sky or Diane, I have your mother in the safe room with me even if she protested. You know hard it is to keep her at bay while carrying this pup in my stomach?’ Ariel ringed through my mind, putting my mind partially at ease but not fully till I know how Sky is.

‘Mon amour, Where are you? S’il vous plaît revenir.’ I pleaded in our mate bond, hoping she hears me and feels the urgency. I could feel her heart ache slightly, making me think that maybe she finally had the link open, even for a second.

“What is wrong son?” Father asked as he looked at me in confusion, a woman with silver hair standing next to him. Must be the oracle.

“The pack is under attack. Mother is in the safe room with Ariel but no one can replace or get a hold of Sky. We need to head back now.” I said in a command as I took off towards our pack. Damn I have a migraine pounding my head.

“She is gone.” The woman says as I whip around in confusion and anger.

“What did you say?” I ask through grit teeth, trying to hold the growl Demon is reverberating through my mind back.

‘Luna Queen and Miss Diane are missing, no sign of them on our lands.’ With that mind link, I fall to my knees. Not believing what I have heard. She is gone, again.

‘This is all your fault.’ Demon growls in anger, I feel my bones realign and crack as I transform into my black beast of a wolf. Howling in sorrow for the loss of my mate again.

“Dimitri? Demon?” My father questions as he watches me with grief plastered on his face.
