Chapter 60 –

"Well, are you ready to hear the results?" Doctor Stevens asked us, making me swallow hard before gripping Gabriella's hand tighter as we both nodded yes in unison.

Was I ready for this? I mean..I always knew this would be the expectation with the contract..my father demanded it..but with Gabriella, it felt completely different..this wasn't about a contract or fulfilling an obligation..this was about the love of my life possibly bearing my child. My heart was racing as every second passed..then Dr Stevens began to speak again.

"Congratulations Mr and Mrs Sinclair, Gabriella is pregnant. The test came back positive." Dr. Stevens stated excitedly as my whole world flipped upside down. The sound of my Dad cheering filled the room as I snapped my gaze to my wife.

I saw her big blue eyes wide with surprise as I lifted my hands and cupped her cheeks.

"Did you hear him, baby?" I asked, making her nod yes slowly as tears filled those breathtakingly blue eyes.

"Why are you crying?" I asked worriedly, hoping she wasn't freaking out as she lifted her hand and began motioning it to her chest, the word happy forming silently on her lips as I felt my own tears welling up now.

"Me too..I am too." I breathed before pressing my mouth to hers, kissing her deeply as I couldn't believe she really was pregnant..

A baby..she was going to have a baby..my baby.

"I love you so much." I gasped between kisses as the sound of laughter surrounded us.

"Okay son, let my daughter-in-law breathe for a moment." My dad teased, making me pull away as I watched Gabriella gasp for air. Not even realizing we had pretty much been making out in front of my dad and the doctor..but can you blame me?

"Well, since we can guess you aren't too far along, we don't usually need to do ultrasounds this early unless there is some type of complication. But in this case, if you would like.."

"Yes..we would.." My dad answered for us as annoyance began to fill me..okay I get it.. You're excited but jeez..chill a little.

I glanced over at Gabriella who still seemed slightly dazed as I pulled her closer to my side.

Then I lifted my hand and placed it on her stomach, my gaze locked onto the space as I tried to wrap my head around the fact that our baby was in there...our sweet little baby.

Gabriella placed her small hand over mine, making me meet those blue orbs once again as she smiled at me sweetly.

I couldn't help but return it as I feathered kisses all over her face as she let out the most satisfying giggle ever..fuck I loved her laugh.

"Okay, can we have our expecting mother come lay here?" A woman asked, as our little bubble popped, making me realize they had everything all set up already.

"Let me help you up." I rushed out, already feeling even more protective over her as I helped my pregnant wife stand.

I helped her over to the table as the ultrasound tech handed my wife a blanket to cover her lower half as she hiked the dress up past her belly.

I stared down at her milky white skin, looking for any signs of our baby growing as I swear I saw a tiny little bump. Well, maybe she looked slightly bloated.. Gabriella has always been super thin..I know mostly because of the neglect she suffered at her old home, so she has put on a little weight since. Which I was thankful for because it meant she was eating more...a lot more..my girl has an appetite.

I love seeing her looking healthier and can't help but worship her body with each new delicious curve that forms. I wonder what she will look like with a swollen belly..fuck, this is not the time nor place to start fantasizing about that..

"This might be a little cold okay? And dad, if you just want to hold her hand.." The woman said, and for a moment I looked at my dad in confusion..then I realized she was talking to me..I was Dad.

I gripped Gabriella's hand as my father stepped closer to the screen, eyeing it carefully.

"I am just going to put a little bit of pressure here, it might be slightly uncomfortable okay?" The older woman asked and Gabriella just nodded happily.

The woman started moving the thingy around and we looked at the screen intently when she began to smile.

"It's still too early to hear the heartbeat, but if you look right here..this is your little baby." She explained, making both Gabriella and I gasp as a tiny white dot appeared in the ultrasound. "Considering you are barely four weeks along, we can't see much yet..but everything looks..oh..wait." She began, making me sit up straighter as I looked at the nurse and then at my dad. "What? What is it?" I rushed out, making the nurse click some things..

"Well..just..let me get a second opinion on something. It isn't anything to be concerned about." She reassured us and quickly left the room, making me frown.

I felt Gabriella squeeze my hand as worry filled her eyes and I quickly bent over, kissing her forehead.

"It will be okay..she said it's nothing to worry about okay?" I whispered and that's when my Dad began pacing the room.

I could tell he was close to losing it...

"Dad please calm down, that's not helping." I snapped and then the ultrasound tech quickly came back in, followed by Dr. Stevens.

"Okay, let's take a look. Erin here just saw something that needed a second opinion." He said calmly before looking at my dad and nodding once. Seeming to reassure him silently.

My dad came back over as the doctor turned towards the screen, watching while the tech began swiping the wand across Gabriella's stomach again.

"Okay, yes...there is baby A...and..there..yes, baby B." The doctor said while pointing to the screen as I tried to process his words, blinking rapidly..

"B..Baby..B?" I sputtered out as my dad slapped my back happily before bursting with laughter.

"Son, not only did you give me a grandchild...but you gave me two at one time!" He explained as I sat back slightly, absorbing this new information.

"T-t-two." Gabriella stuttered, surprising everyone but me as I leaned into her, my face coming mere inches from hers.

"Yes Princess, you're having twins." I said the words out loud as her face went pale.

"Just breathe Mrs. Sinclair, it will be okay." Doctor Stevens said playfully, patting her leg as he stood.

That's when my Dad shook his hand happily before asking for a few pictures to be printed out.

"Twins baby." I whispered to my wife, seeing her trying to grasp the situation as I felt a broad smile pulling at my face.

"Not only are you giving me one child..but two..Gabriella Sinclair, you cease to amaze me." I chuckled happily, feeling this deep sense of love and joy rising from deep inside of me as I couldn't contain it any longer.

"You have made me the happiest man in the world." I stated while kissing my wife on the lips and moved down to her now cleaned off stomach as I couldn't help but kiss there too..

Two babies..Holy shit..I was not expecting that. But of course Gabriella would give me this blessing because everything in life with her is that much better..
