Sweet Subterfuge By Trina Duo Chapter 532

Chapter 532

Larissa was puling her suitcase with her out of the elevator when she turned only to hall abruptly.

Someone was sitting on the floor outside the door. His back was against the wall, and his legs were pulled toward himsell while his head was down, his shoulders completely slumped. There was an aura of desolation around him.

She had not yet ligured out what was going or when she locked eyes with him.

The moment he saw her, his dull eyes brightened up immediately, Kevan scrambled un from the floor and dashed toward Larissa while she was conlused and blanking out in a few steps, grabbing her by the shoulders and yanking her into his arms.

The fresh smell of mint per vaded her nose, and his broad chest as well as his strong arms caused Larissa’s heart to pound, her body feeling hotter and hotter.

Kevan hugged her tightly as if he were going to crush her.

Feeling his trembling, Larissa stopped herself from pushing him away and hugged him back instead.

“…What’s wrong?” she asked softly.

Kevan buried his face into the crook of her neck, inhaling the sweet citrus scent coming from her, which calmed down the anxiety within him bit by bit until all was calm once more.

He reluctantly let her go before standing a step away from her.

“Went out on a business trip? He noticed the suitcase behind her.

“No.” Larissa did not want to say too much to him but felt that he should know too. “I sent Aster back to Aldovia.” She felt inexplicably guilty, tuming away so she did not need to meet his gaze after saying that.

This news was clearly shocking to Kevan, After being stunned for two seconds, he controlled his emotions and asked with a frown. “Why?”

His reaction was not as agitated as Lanssa expected, and she was able to breathe a little easier.

“Let’s talk inside.”

After a more than ten-hour flight, Larissa was already exhausted. She made herself a mug of coffee and downed half of it in one go, barely

managing to give herself some energy with that.

Kevan’s frown deepened. “Drink less coffee. It’s late,” he said.

Larissa put down the mug and said with a smile, “It’s fine. I’m used to it.”

A sharp twinge pierced his heart. Kevan could not imagine how she lived here all these years.

“I plan to take time to visit Ruby in two days,” Larissa said.

Suddenly hearing that name, Kevan’s negative emotions llared up at once. He suppressed the hatred that roiled beneath his flesh and asked calmly. “Why do you need to see her?”

Ruby’s intentional assault had already been proven with evidence, and she was currently detained, awaiting trial.

Larissa had given the lawyer full authority to handle this matter, and she rarely asked about it-she did not want to see anything related to Ruby for lear that she would not be able to control her temper. But this time, she had to meet with Ruby at least once to sound her out for

Aster’s sake.

“I’m worried that she wants to take a shot al Aster again,” Larissa told Kevan about what happened at the kindergarten.

Kevan straightened up slowly and his eyes narrowed dangerously. “Leave it be,” he said. “Il investigate this thoroughly.”

Alter Ruby was sent to the detention center, every move she made was known to him. Someone would periodically tell him what she did, and who she had met with. She had yet to do anything out of the ordinary recently.

So, it did not matter who went to pick Aster up at the kindergarten that day, Rubry had nothing to do with II.
