Larissa was discharged three days later as she strongly insisted on it. In fact, she wouldn't have needed to be hospitalized if she hadn't fainted from the pain that night, considering how minor her injuries were. Larissa asked Kevan for his account number, intending to repay him for the medical expenses that had been incurred over the past few days. However, he outright refuted her again and again
He was going to leave her place at the time, and was about to open the door, causing the door to be slightly ajar. Upon hearing her request, he turned his head and raised his eyebrows. "It's just a small amount of money. He suddenly curved his lips, revealing a teasing smile." Besides, I'm supposed to be spending money on my girlfriend, aren't I?"
He said that casually and walked away without looking back, leaving Larissa standing frozen in a
daze.
Did he call her his girlfriend? He might have merely failed to mention they weren't really dating. but her heart still started to pound uncontrollably, and her face flushed red
Larissa continued to recover at home for a few more days. She resumed her work at the hotel when she began to regain some movement in her right arm. Kevan still picked her up and dropped her off every day, but he no longer had her bring him lunch at the Microworks Building. Her previous workload had piled up due to her absence, and after several busy days, Larissa finally found some time to have someone change the locks on her place. She contacted the real estate agent, Mason Clark, wanting to schedule a meeting to hand over the new keys for
the main door to the buyer and have them take a look at the house. However, Mason said it would be better if she was present since the buyer had made up their mind, and viewing the house was just a formality. There was a good chance they could sign the contract on the spot. Thinking it would be more convenient, Larissa asked him when the buyer would be available. He quickly arranged a time as he was eager to earn his commission.
"Is Friday morning okay?"
"Sure," Larissa said as she happened to have the day off that day.
It was Friday morning and they had agreed to meet at the house at nine. Larissa arrived half an hour early to see if anything needed to be rearranged. Although the previous tenant hadn't lived. there for long, they hadn't maintained the cleanliness of the house, and there were some stubborn stains on the bathroom and kitchen. Moreover, Elliot's wife had left in a hurry, leaving the house in a mess. Latissa didn't have time to clean it herself, so she had Mason arrange for a cleaning company to come. As she opened the door, she was met with a sweet scent, likely the air freshener used by the cleaning company. The house was spotless, with all the furniture in its place. She was relieved to see the bathroom and kitchen look brand new after the cleaning.
"Okay," she politely responded
Kevan became slightly agitated as he listened to the sound of running water in the bathroom.
He didn't expect her to manage to undress herself. He was looking forward to helping her, unfortunately, it all went down the drain. He threw himself onto the soft leather sofa, stroking his chin as he reminisced about her smooth and unblemished back. Although it wasn't his first time seeing her body, she still stirred his heart He was able to quilt-trip Larissa into thinking she had misunderstood him. Since then, he had to be extremely cautious and not let her discover any flaws.
Kevan let out a long sigh, suddenly wanting to smoke a cigarette. It was truly agonizing that his desires were out of his reach these days. But he couldn't bring himself to talk to her openly as the memories of his past experiences were still vivid in his mind, and he didn't want to give her another opportunity to reject him. He wondered when Larissa's hardened heart would finally warm up to him. If he wanted to succeed sooner, he might have to put in even more effort.

At exactly nine, there was a knock on the front door. Mason entered with a smile on his face, followed by a thin man, dressed in a sharp suit, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses similar to Dylan's, making him look very refined and elegant.
Larissa figured that he was the buyer, and immediately went up to greet them. She shook his
hand and said warmly, "Hello"
Mason had spoken to the buyer about her in advance, and he smiled politely, saying, "Hello, Miss Seymour.
Mason continued to introduce him, saying, "This is the buyer. Noah Rodriguez.
Larissa nodded and turned to walk inside, handing each of them a bottle of water.
"Mr. Rodriquez, let me show you around the house," she said.
