Chapter 766

Marilyn shoved the remaining cr ackers into her mouth while turning her head. She was avoiding Lewis' question. Compared to Marilyn, Larissa felt more at ease with him,

She said calmly. "The cafeteria is crowded. I don't think I can wait in the long lines, so i brought Marilyn along."

He looked at her before telling Marilyn, "Order four meals from tomorrow onward. You can eat upstairs."

Marilyn hurriedly nodded. "Okay."

She hadn't swallowed her crackers. A few crumbs slid into her throat while she was talking. She began coughing because of it.

Frowning, he handed his credit card to Larissa. "Your lunchtime is extended for another two hours. Grab something at a nearby restaurant. It's on me."

Although she tumed the offer down, she accepted the suggestion for the extended lunchtime.

Blue Star Tower was located in the prosperous area of Westonia. There were a lot of restaurants in its vicinity.

Larissa chose a restaurant from Marilyn's suggestion. They occupied a table that was in a quiet comer.

"Larissa."

Now that Lewis was not around. Marilyn could confidently voice her doubt "Why didn't you tell the truth to Mr. Logan Junior? I bet he won't let it slide that easily."

"It's useless."Larissa stopped flipping through the menu as she smiled helplessly.

"Even if he takes the issue upon himselt no one is able to control whatever they comment behind my back."

"That's true" Marilyn nodded

She then smiled. "Nevertheless, you need not worry about drawing attention anymore. Their opinions won't affect you anyways." Larissa couldn't bring herself to tell Marilyn something-that the presidential management stall was the center of all rumors.

She went along with it instead. "Yeah. It's best I focus on my job. As for the others, they're none of my business."

Marilyn became brighter because they were not in a serious atmosphere, hence the appearance of her talkative side.

"Larissa." She suddenly became shy with red cheeks. "About your dilver Is he laken?"

It took a while for Larissa to register who Marilyn meant by that.

"He" Larissa's chest felt stutty as she noticed the anticipation in Marilyn's eyes.

After a moment of hesitation, she lowered her head. "He has a girlfriend"

Marilyn was disappointed. "That makes sense. How can someone hot like him not be taken?"

Larissa chuckled wryly and drank water to quell her guilt

By the time they returned to the presidential office, the other staff had been working for over an hour,

No one watched them leave, so no one knew of their whereabouts.

"Where have you guys been? Why are you back only now?" asked one of the curious colleagues

Marlyn replied coldly. "We were helping Mr. Logan Senior with something."

All of the calculating gazes were shifted away from them upon her answer.

"Larissa," A male colleague called Larissa.

"Got it. Thanks." She smiled,

She wondered. "Only a few people know I changed my job. They usually won't send me anything, though. Even if they have something for me, they would've done it personally."

She walked to her desk. There was a box on it
