Kevan wished that he did not need to take his hand out of hers. When his hand was empty again, it felt like he left half of his heart behind too.

Larissa did not stop him this time. She could go without breakfast, but Aster could not.

While Kevan was making breakfast in the kitchen, Larissa got out of bed and went through her morning routine. After that, she grabbed her work things and went to Wendy's room.

Having been distracted by the father and son last night, Larissa had forgotten that she wanted to focus on her work. Although she was still uncomfortable because of the cold, her fever was gone. But she could not fall asleep again even if she wanted to.

It was better to finish the slideshow instead.

It did not take long for someone to knock on the door. Larissa closed her laptop and stuffed it under the blanket with her documents.

"Who is it?" she asked.

"Me." Kevan pushed open the door. There was a tray in his hands. "I made chicken soup." He placed the tray on the bedside table.

The beautiful porcelain bowl that Larissa bought online was filled with delicious chicken soup.

"I added some salt. Eat a little something at least, and then take your cold medication."

"Leave it here. I'll eat once I'm hungry." Larissa was worried that he would replace out about her work in secret, so she tried to chase him away. "Go to sleep. My fever's gone. There won't be any problems." Kevan did not leave as she wished though. His sharp gaze looked at her before fixing on the bump next to her. "What is this?" he asked.

Larissa guiltily pressed her hand on the bump, her eyes looking everywhere except Kevan. "Nothing."

Kevan ripped open the blanket. His expression darkened at once when he saw the stack of documents. "You were working?"

Larissa bit her lip but she did not dare to reply.

Kevan took away all her work-related things and forced the porcelain bowl into her hand.

"Eat!" he ordered harshly. "If you don't, I'll burn your documents and break your laptop."

Larissa knew that he would do exactly what he promised. So, she forced herself to eat half the chicken soup and take her cold medication.

Kevan still did not leave. "You're too disobedient," he said. "I have to watch you."

Larissa felt like crying. Fucking damn it! She should not have felt like she lucked out!

"You already took my work away. I can't work even if I wanted to! If you really can't let this go, let Aster come and supervise me then. Why don't you go to sleep?" She tried to discuss it with him. "No." Kevan firmly refused. "Aster can't handle you."

He took the laptop, documents, and the tray of food. Standing up, he stared down at Larissa, who was half-sitting on Wendy's bed. "Go back to your room."

As Larissa had done something wrong thing earlier, she was filled with guilt. Afraid that she would make him angrier, she did whatever he told her to do.

She went back to her room and waited for a while before Kevan came in again. His hands were empty, and they were purplish red again-probably because they froze under the cold water when he washed the dishes.

Larissa held his hands and tried to warm them with her own. She kept scolding him. "Didn't I tell you to wash the dishes with hot water?"

Kevan stood in front of her. He did not say anything for a very long time. Larissa found it odd. She looked up and ended up looking into his scorching eyes.
