Kevan stared at her. He did not say anything, but his emotions were overflowing from his eyes.

"I know it hasn't been a week yet. But-" He licked his lips out of nervousness and held her hands instead. His voice was hoarse as he asked, "Do you have an answer already?"

Larissa froze at once. She did not think that he would mention this. She had been counting the days. There were still three days left before the week was up. Larissa was not someone who dragged out decisions, but this specific decision was hard for her.

She wanted to wait. But... Kevan could not seem to wait any longer.

"I ..." She lowered her head. She did not know what to say.

Kevan's bright eyes dulled at once. He did not plan to rush her. He knew that she still held things against him, and knew that this would not disappear so quickly.

He was willing to give her time to process everything. But he could feel that she did care about him through her attitude today. And the reason that she cared about him— The more he thought about it, the more excited he was. So, he ended up asking.

"Never mind." He let her go, a faint smile on his lips. It was like he did not mind. "There's still time." He backed away. He moved from the foot of the bed to the other side. Larissa felt a little sad as she stared at her empty hands. But this sadness did not last long.

There were some sounds from behind her before the bed sank down a bit. Larissa turned back and saw that Kevan had lay down on the bed. He did not look good, and there were dark circles under his eyes. He was still staring at her.

The raging emotions had disappeared from his eyes. Larissa could only see calmness in them.

"Come here." Kevan patted the empty space next to him. His aggressive attitude showed that she could not refuse him.

"Uh..." Larissa was hesitating when she heard him say, "Your laptop—"

Larissa removed her thick jacket and got onto the bed. Kevan made sure she was under the blanket too.

He turned to the side, sliding an arm under her neck while the other arm went around her waist. He trapped her in his arms.

He rested his chin on her head, and Larissa could feel the vibrations that came from his talking.

"Sleep with me for a while." His voice was tired, and Larissa stopped struggling at once.

She buried her face in his neck, and her voice was dull. "But I have a cold. I'll pass it on to you." Her nose was blocked, and her throat was itchy. Thankfully, she did not cough like crazy. Kevan closed his eyes as he rubbed her back. "It's fine, my immune system ..."

He was really tired. He did not even finish talking when his hand fell off her back as he fell dead asleep.

Larissa's heart ached even more for him. If it were not for him taking care of her, why would he end up messing with his health like this?

When she thought of this, she hugged him back.

When Larissa woke up again, Kevan was gone.
