Chapter 813
Larissa coughed loudly and cleared her throat. Finally, Wendy realized that they were at the door. In a hurry, she turned off the video call and complained to Larissa, "Why didn't you make a sound when you entered?"
"I just made a sound, didn't I?" Larissa changed into house slippers and came up to Wendy. Grabbing her arm, she asked enthusiastically, "Is he coming to Westonia tomorrow?"
Frowning, Wendy pulled her arm away and pushed Larissa with disdain. "It's none of your business! Go and help Mr. Rogers to prepare dinner! I'm starving!"
However, Larissa didn't leave. "He just went home a few days ago, and now he's already flying back! Looks like he is really interested in you, Ms. Simmons!" She poked Wendy with her elbow and winked playfully. "You better seize this opportunity. Men like him are rare!"
"Get lost! There's nothing between us. Stop spouting nonsense!" Wendy kicked her in frustration.
Larissa chuckled and continued provoking her, "When are you going to introduce him to me? How about I invite him to dinner? Am I being considerate enough?"
"Argh!" Wendy covered her ears and shouted irritably, "Mr. Rogers! Get this annoying pest out of here!"
Kevan shifted the shopping bags from his left hand to his right. In a few steps, he wrapped his arm around Larissa's waist.
"Excuse me," he apologized to Wendy and dragged Larissa into the kitchen despite her resistance.
Kevan closed the kitchen door with his foot and placed the shopping bags on the counter.
Larissa took out and organized the items they had bought. Then, she took an onion from the fridge and asked Kevan, "Should I peel it?" She remembered hearing him talking to Aster about cooking scrambled eggs tonight.
"I'll do it." Kevan took the onion from her and skillfully peeled it. While he was doing that, he asked, "Is Wendy talking to her boyfriend on video call just now?"
Larissa was stunned. "Why are you suddenly interested in gossip?" In her memory, Kevan was usually aloof and didn't like discussing other people's private matters.
Kevan choked on his saliva at that moment. Larissa didn't know whether it was because of her words or the onion's pungent smell.
Kevan put on an indifferent tone and said, "I'm just asking casually,"
"It's alright! I won't judge even if you confess that you're curious!" Larissa teased him with a side glance.
When she noticed his cold look, she quickly stopped joking around. "I wouldn't call him her boyfriend exactly. They seem to have mutual feelings, but they are still getting to know each other." "Did Wendy show you any pictures?" Kevan asked.
Larissa clicked her tongue. Asking casually? Kevan seemed to be more curious about the man than her!
"No, she's really good at keeping secrets! She hasn't shown me any pictures. I don't even know his name, age, or which hotel he works at! I don't know what she is so afraid of," Larissa complained in a low tone. She turned around and saw Kevan pondering deeply.
"What are you thinking about?" she asked curiously.
A sudden realization dawned on her, and Larissa's excitement rose. "Don't tell me, you know the man Wendy's interested in? Tell me, who is he? What does he look like? Is he young and handsome? Is he good enough for Wendy?"
Kevan furrowed his brows at Larissa's constant chatter. "I don't know him. If you have time to gossip about others, you might as well cut up the onion." He handed the peeled onion back to her.
