Larissa's heart was pounding rapidly. A sense of fear surged within her whenever she thought about what she would say. Larissa felt a strong urge to retreat.

However, she had finally gathered the courage to make this decision. She didn't know when she would muster up the courage to attempt once more if she missed this opportunity. Larissa closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Previously, you said you would give me a week to consider. The week has passed."

She had been counting the days for the past week. When her week was up, she spent the entire day in torment, waiting for Kevan to ask for her answer. However, it seemed as if he had forgotten about it. Until today, he hadn't brought it up. Larissa couldn't wait any longer. She didn't want to drag it out further. Kevan's eyes lit up, and he drawled, "Yes?"

Lately, he had been enjoying his time with Larissa. Besides, she hadn't done anything that crossed his boundaries.

Kevan didn't want to disrupt the harmonious atmosphere between them. That was why he didn't pressure Larissa for an answer after the week had passed.

He knew that Larissa tended to run away from difficult situations. Now that she brought it up on her own initiative, things were likely heading in the direction he hoped for. As expected, she said, "I'll marry you."

Countless fireworks went off in Kevan's mind. Staying focused on the road was hard as he tried to avoid the sidewalk.

"Alright." He forced himself to sound calm, but his wide smile betrayed the happiness he felt.

"But..." Larissa changed the topic immediately. "I don't plan to return to Caldor in the short term, so we might not be able to get our marriage certificate for a while."

Although Larissa had a green card, she was still a Caldorian citizen as she had not completed the immigration process.

While foreigners could register their marriage here, it was much more complicated than in their home country. Larissa wanted to get it done all at once when she returned to Caldor in the future.

Kevan understood her concern. "That's fine."

However, the expression on his face darkened. There was something he hadn't told her yet. It wasn't the right time.

Kevan wasn't certain of Larissa's feelings toward him. When he was sure that she genuinely liked him and wanted to marry him willingly, only then would he reveal the truth.

"Besides, can we keep our marriage a secret for now? Only you, me, Aster, and Wendy should know about this. I'd rather not tell my father and Lewis about this yet."

Kevan disagreed. "Why? Am I an embarrassment to you?"

"No! You know that my father disapproves of you. He will probably be very upset if he replaces out that we are married. His health is deteriorating, and he has frequent seizures. I'm worried that he won't be able to handle it." Larissa waved her hands in denial.

She wanted to keep this from Lewis as she didn't want to put him in a difficult position.

If Gary found out that Lewis had also kept this a secret from him, things could be disastrous.

Kevan furrowed his brows and thought for a moment. Finally, he decided to compromise. "Alright."

In fact, he didn't plan to publicize their marriage for now.

After all, there were enemies back in Caldor scheming to take him down.

"I have a condition," Kevan added.

"What condition?"

"You have to make it clear to Mr. Logan that he cannot arrange blind dates for you anymore. Otherwise, I will tell him the truth regardless of whether he can handle it or not." Kevan snorted coldly. "Okay, I will talk to my father about this tomorrow!" Larissa agreed readily.

As long as she was firm about it, Gary wouldn't be able to do anything.
