Larissa's heart sank. "What did he say to you?"

"He knows that I'm your ex-husband." Kevan stared at Larissa calmly.

"He must have guessed it! I never told him that."

Larissa never discussed her private matters with others.

Even the fact that Aster was her biological son was revealed accidentally when Aster let it slip during a playdate with Freddy.

Later, it was Freddy who told Allen about this.

"He even knew about Ruby." Kevan felt uneasy when he mentioned her name.

He observed Larissa's reaction closely. As expected, there was a flicker in Larissa's eyes.

"He didn't know Ruby's name, but he knew about the things that happened between the three of us ..." Kevan continued.

Thus, Allen was convinced that Larissa and him were merely acting.

Allen had warned him, asking Kevan to leave on his own accord.

He even said that he was the only man worthy of Larissa.

"He probably had someone investigate me, or someone close to us reached out to him. Given that Edmund appeared here out of the blue, I suspect that both of them are in contact," Kevan concluded. Larissa tried to brush off the unease she felt when Ruby's name was mentioned.

She tried to focus on the main issue. "So, Edmund is here to come after us?"

Kevan didn't give her an affirmative answer. "I'm just suspicious about it."

He reached out and rubbed her furrowed brow. "Don't worry. Didn't I promise you that I'd handle it?"

Wendy was not the only worrying thing on Larissa's mind right now.

It wouldn't be that hard to separate Edmund and Wendy.

Kevan might only need to make a phone call and it could be done within two days.

What worried her more was Kevan's safety.

Regardless of what Edmund did or was planning to do, his end goal would be to eliminate Kevan.

"What about if you return to Caldor?" After hesitating for a while, Larissa spoke up.

"What?" Kevan's smile froze.

"You would be safer in Caldor," Larissa explained.

After all, Kevan's stronghold was in Caldor. He would be more protected there. Moreover, many unexpected events could happen in Aldovia.

Random shootings and gang fights on the streets could serve as a cover for an assassination attempt.

"I don't wish the people around me to keep getting involved in our problems," Larissa said.

First, it was Wendy, then Allen. Next, it could be Lewis or Gary.

She didn't mind facing danger with Kevan, but she didn't want to see her family and friends getting into trouble as well.

"I understand. Edmund came to Aldovia because of me. If I left, he would leave as well. Then, Wendy would be out of danger without you needing to do anything. As for your ex-boss... hah!" Kevan shifted his gaze away from Larissa and smirked.

He picked up the clothes beside him and got up. "As you wish, I will leave tomorrow morning."

Larissa grabbed his sleeve in a hurry and explained, "That's not what I meant. I just..."

In her current position, she did not have the ability to ensure his safety. She was still relying on her father and cousin's influence in the company. She had not built up her own influence here yet. Larissa did not have the power to bypass them to achieve her goals.

Regarding Kevan's matters, she couldn't seek help from them. She was well aware of Gary's attitude toward Kevan.

If he learned about the danger that Kevan would bring, Gary would do everything in his power to stop them from being together.

"That's enough. You don't need to blame yourself or feel guilty. I don't want to cause trouble for you either." Kevan brushed her hand away.

In the end, he couldn't truly be mad at her.

Whenever he saw her distressed expression, his heart would soften.
