Chapter 864
The moment Edmund left, Larissa asked a black-suited man for his phone. Her phone had been taken and thrown away by Edmund. She only remembered three phone numbers-her own, Wendy's, and Aster's.
It was useless to call the first two numbers. Now, she could only put her hope on Aster. Lewis should be with him right now. Because she was worried that Edmund would come back quickly, she dialed the number and gave the phone back quickly.
"Look for Lewis Logan," Larissa quietly instructed the man, who did as he was told.
The airport was really noisy. The flight announcements kept coming one after another. Larissa listened hard but she could not hear what the other person said on the phone.
The man looked down and told her. "Lewis answered."
"Tell him to go get Wendy Simmons." Larissa stared right ahead and did not make any eye contact with the man. "You should know where Wendy's being kept at, right?"
Edmund should have called off the men watching Wendy. But if she escaped later, it was hard to say that Edmund would not send people back to her. After all, as Wendy was now, she could not leave on her
own.
So, the best way was to get Lewis to send people over and get Wendy before the enemy could.
The man shook his head blankly though. "I really don't know that place. Rogers never told us."
Larissa's eye twitched as her heart sank. Seeing that Larissa did not speak, the man asked, "Do you still want people to go get your friend?"
"Wait a minute." Larissa was really distracted right now.
"He asks if you need people to come get you." The man relayed Lewis' words to Larissa.
"Yes," Larissa replied. She had no money at all right now, she could not possibly grab a cab home from the airport by herself.
The man said a few more things to Lewis, likely telling him about Larissa's current situation. "Do you have anything else you want to tell him?" The man asked Larissa.
"No." Larissa planned to tell Lewis all the other things in person after she got home.
The man hung up the phone.
Soon, Edmund came back. Larissa asked him, "Have you let Wendy go?"
"Of course. I'm a man of my word." Edmund stood in front of Larissa and stared at her from above. His eyes showed mockery in them. "But even if I didn't, you can't do anything to me either, right?" Larissa stood up slowly, keeping her eyes locked on him. The mockery in her eyes was just as good as his. "There are a lot of people in the airport. Say, if I shouted, 'Help me!' here, what do you think would happen?"
Edmund's smile froze on his face. "Would you even dare?" he snarled threateningly.
"Why not?" Larissa shot back at him. "I'm here for Wendy. Do you think I'm stupid enough to just go with you when I don't get what I want?"
Edmund glared at her for a long while before he gave up. "The call I was making earlier was to call off my guys." He was not as forceful as before, clearly afraid that Larissa would really call for help in the airport.
"No," Larissa said coldly, "Who knows if you'll send your men back again?"
"Then what do you want?" Edmund's eyes narrowed.
"Send Wendy to the hotel she works at and give her to her colleague. Send me a picture of that." Larissa was not afraid of Edmund refusing. "I will wait with you here. I will not leave unless I see the picture." Larissa had all the advantages right now. Although Edmund was pissed, he did not dare to make things worse either.
"Fine." He made a phone call again in front of Larissa. Once the call was answered, he put his phone on speakerphone at Larissa's request.
"Go back now and send Wendy back to Maple Hotel. Find someone who knows her to come get her, then send me a picture," Edmund instructed.
