"Whew." Larissa sighed in relief. "That's good, then."

"Why?" Kevan raised an eyebrow.

"Actually, before we came to the airport, I made a deal with Edmund's guys. As long as they let go of me, I would pay them double the money," Larissa explained.

"So, you planned everything already?" Kevan suddenly did not feel so successful anymore. In fact, he felt a little discouraged. Even if he did not appear, she seemed to be able to protect herself. Larissa figured out Kevan's thoughts from his frown and instantly dull eyes, so she immediately smiled and hugged his arm.

"Well, not everything!" she said. "To be honest, I had no confidence at all in whether or not I could escape. If it weren't for the elderly lady you found to help you, I might still be dealing with Edmund." Kevan's face looked a little better, and he even smiled.

Larissa suddenly found that this weird man was rather easy to understand. Honestly, why did she think that he was cold and hard to get close to?

"Speaking of which, how did you happen to come over too?" Larissa did not think too deeply about it. She just thought everything was so very coincidental and that she was damn lucky as hell.

"It wasn't a coincidence," Kevan said. "I knew that Edmund would fly back to Caldor today."

The people he planted with Edmund had never been called back. When Edmund booked the flight tickets back to Bartham for himself and Larissa, Kevan found out immediately.

If Edmund went back alone, Kevan might not have thought too much, but to bring Larissa along-

Based on Kevan's understanding of Larissa, she would never willingly go with Edmund. So, either Edmund got what he wanted, or he was moving into the next step of his plan. No matter what it was, Kevan had to fly over in person to deal with him personally.

"I just got off the airplane when I got Edmund's call and found out that he kidnapped you. So I never left the airport and was waiting for you guys here the whole time."

Kevan knew everything about Edmund and Larissa's flight. To prevent any accidents, Kevan even bought a ticket for the same flight.

Thank goodness he managed to wait for them successfully as well as rescue Larissa. He did not need to go all the way back to Caldor and let both Cody and Edmund have the chance to unite against him. "You're alone?" Larissa asked.

"No." Kevan naturally brought people along. Otherwise, he could not possibly get so many people under his control in such a short amount of time.

Larissa stopped asking. Other details were not important to her. Now, the most important thing to her was the still-unconscious Wendy.

Lewis' car was parked outside the airport. He was the only one there.

Larissa asked, "Where's Aster?"

"I sent him to Uncle Gary's." Lewis was very cool to Larissa as he was unhappy. Larissa could naturally feel it too.

"I'm sorry," she apologized honestly.

Lewis eyed her coldly through the rearview mirror. There was no warmth in his eyes. "What do you have to be sorry about? It's not like you nearly got me killed anyway."

Larissa silently accepted Lewis' weirdness. She did not dare to retort at all.

Kevan also acted like he was air. He turned to look outside and did not speak up for Larissa at all.

"I'm sorry." Larissa could only repeat herself one more time. She humbly recognized her mistake. "I will let you two know immediately when I end up in this kind of situation next time."

She had barely finished speaking when Kevan turned around suddenly to stare at her. He clearly enunciated every single word, "There won't be a next time."
