Chapter 889

Realizing what Kevan was about to do. Wendy screamed in horror.

"Mr. Rogers, calm down! Larissa won't agree with you killing people! Do you really want to be stuck in prison for the rest of your life, leaving your wile and kid alone?"

"Who said I was going to kill anyone?"

Kevan's smile became wider.

With a slight move of his finger. Kevan pulled the trigger.

A gunshot echoed in the room and a thug let out a howl. "My fool! My foot is shot!"

A bullet was lodged in his foot and blood gushed out from the wound.

Wendy had never seen anything gory in her life.

Covering her eyes, she screamed and turned away.

She quickly ran into the bathroom and locked the door.

Several more gunshots ensued and various cries of pain rang out.

Wendy covered her ears with her hands. She tried to stop herself from imagining the gruesome scene that was happening outside.

After a long pause, there was a knock on the bathroom door.

Kevan's voice came through the frosted glass door. "Ms. Simmons, shall we take our leave?"

Having witnessed Kevan's cruel side. Wendy became even more afraid of him.

However, she was more scared of the thugs that were in the room.

Trembling, she quickly opened the door and answered, "I'll go with you."

When they left the hotel Wendy was about to part ways with Kevan.

*Ill get a cab to go home by myself. You don't need to trouble yoursel" She didn't even dare to look at Kevan.

"No way." Kevan walked up to her and reached out a hand.

Before he could even touch her, Wendy look a step back in fright.

She was wearing stilettos. It was meant to boost her confidence in her face-off against Kevan.

However, at this moment, they were just a hindrance to her movement

Wendy accidentally twisted her ankle and fell down.

Kevan rushed forward to grab her, but it was too late.

Wendy crashed onto the ground and a sharp pain shot from her lower abdomen.

She looked down at herself and noticed blood pooling under her lower body.

Wendy blacked out and all her strength seemed to drain away in an instant.

A second before she lost consciousness, she thought, "Maybe, this is my late."

Due to her hangover from excessive intake of alcohol, Larissa slept soundly the whole day.

When she woke up, it was already dark. Kevan wasn't around, only a small nightlight was on in the room,

Larissa massaged her throbbing temples and sat up. The comforter slid off her body and she realized that she was stark naked. Startled, her drowsiness vanished.

She picked out a nightgown and dressed hersell,

The drumsticks that she ate yesterday were fully digested a while ago.

Larissa's stomach rumbled with hunger.

She found it strange. It was already so late, but Kevan hadn't woken her up for dinner.

When Larissa walked out of the bedroom, darkness enveloped her. Her confusion and unease grew.

"Kevan? Kevan?" she called out, raising her voice.

Her voice echoed in the empty house.

Larissa went through every room to look for Kevan, but she didn't see him anywhere.
