It’s been a long day and I’m thankful Adam was waiting to show me the route to campus this morning. There’s a back path which I never would have found on my own. Closing the front door behind me, I leaned against it for just a second, happy to be home. A small smile grows on my lips. Home. I haven’t called anything home for a long time. It’s only been a week, but I’m already feeling settled and happy here. No nervousness about people’s agenda or anything.

As I walked further into the house, I could hear voices coming from the kitchen. Laura and Lyss were putting groceries away and I quietly greeted them.

‘Reign! Just the girl we were waiting for.’ Lyss smiles brightly and an odd feeling of trepidation fills my stomach, maybe I spoke too soon about agendas. She wants something. I can see it in her wolfish grin.

‘What’s up?’ I ask hesitantly as I amble into the kitchen, throwing my book bag on the counter.

Laura shrugs, ‘Nothing major. We’re just figuring out our next prank on the guys.’ She says as she opens the fridge and puts a few items away.

‘Nothing major?!’ Lyss quirks her eyebrow questioningly at Laura. She really takes this weird feud with Aiden seriously.

‘Oh, that’s cool. What are you guys thinking?’ I look between them and I can only imagine what they’ve concocted.

They look at each other and then Laura says, ‘We’ve got a few ideas, but we wanted to pass them by you before we started prepping.’

‘Okay, so what were you thinking?’

‘Well, our number one idea is glitter.’ Then there’s silence. I keep staring at Laura, expecting more of an explanation but she doesn’t supply anymore. She just keeps smiling incessantly like that should explain everything.

‘Just glitter?’ I raise my eyebrow. ‘It there more to the idea or are we just going to throw glitter in their face when they open the door?’

‘No of course not.’ Lyss quips, flipping a strand of her blonde hair over her shoulder. ‘It’s more along the lines that everyone hates glitter.’ I nod, urging her to continue. ‘Well, we thought about sending it in the mail but once they’ve opened the letter, it will only be in one place, making it easy to clean up. We need to make it more difficult. More annoying. It needs to be put it in places in their house they would least expect so when they do replace it, it will get everywhere. That crap is hard to clean!’ She laughs manically. What a terribly annoying idea. It’s perfect.

‘That’s a great idea. Where were you thinking of putting it then?’

‘In their drawers, it will be all over their clothes and they’ll look like those glittered vampires from Twilight for months. Who knows the last time they did laundry? I doubt they even own a vacuum, so they won’t be able to get it out of the carpets either. Every step they take will be a constant reminder of us.’

‘But if you just stick it in their drawers, wouldn’t it be obvious? We want to make it so they don’t notice or can’t figure out where it’s coming from.’ I point out and both nod in agreement. ‘We should stick it in those condom pockets of their jeans.’

‘Condom pockets?’ Laura’s brows furrow.

‘You know, those little pockets within the big pocket?” Lyss and Lura look at each other, bemused. “I thought it was called a condom pocket?’

‘I know what that pocket it is, Reign. I’ve just never heard anyone call it a condom pocket before… Coin pocket yes but I learn a new thing about you every day.’ She chuckled. ‘That is a good idea though. It won’t move too quickly around their stuff and it will be hard to pinpoint where it’s coming from with the added benefit that it will be a bitch to get out.”

‘Cool, so there we have it. We will fill their denim with glitter. We just need to figure out a time when they are all out.’

‘Tomorrow morning they’re all at practice.’ Lyss points out. I can’t help but question why she knows that. I think there’s a lot more going on between her and Aiden than this weird prank war. ‘Let’s aim for that.’

After agreeing with them, I make a quick dinner and then head up to my room to get some work done. I hardly notice the sun set, I’m so engrossed in an assignment that when I finish for the night, I have to massage the knot out of my neck from craning forward so much.

It’s already 9 o’clock and the only thing illuminating my room is the little desk lamp next to me. I can’t help but hear Devin’s door open and as much as I try to force myself to stay focused on the computer screen in front, I can’t help it. My eyes wander over to the window to get my fill of him.

Watching him undress last night left me wanting more than a bachelorette at the Magic Mike stage show. I woke up smiling, fully expecting to see him in all his chiseled glory getting out of bed, but apparently, he’s an early riser. He was already gone, leaving me disappointed and hungry for more. I’m only looking though. No touching whatsoever.

When I catch sight of him, my mouth dries. He’s scrubbing a towel into his wet dark hair with only a pair of gray sweatpants hanging low on his hips. Does he only own one shirt or something? His abs are on full display and I swear if I look hard enough, I can see a droplet of water trickling down his abs, just calling out for me to lick it.

Just like last night, I know I should look away, but I just can’t stop perving. I won’t stop myself. Is this how all voyeurs start off? The way those sweatpants hang leave little to the imagination. Although I don’t have to imagine much, I know exactly what he’s packing down there.

I’m starting to get hot and uncomfortable watching him, rubbing my thighs together to ease the throbbing. I’m annoyed at myself for agreeing it was a one-time thing. The way he sets me on fire by just looking at him is unhealthy. He’s an itch I need scratched over and over again.

All my thoughts stop when his eyes meet mine and his lip curls. He caught me watching him and he knows it. All that tension leaves his body as he slowly walks towards the window, making sure his chest is puffed out, so I get a show.

As he leans over the railing, he puts a hand on the glass and gently pushes my window open. ‘Hey, darlin’,’ He slurs, and I have to ignore the butterflies in my stomach when I hear his thick throaty accent.

‘D,’ I give him a tight smile, hoping he can’t tell he’s making me hotter than Las Vegas in my panties. He watches my every move as I stand up to meet him at the railings. As I approach, I notice his tired eyes and paled skin. ‘Are you okay? You look a little down?’ I asked, placing my hands on either side of his. We’re barely touching, but I feel it all the way down to my toes. His smile softens as he relaxes, and he looks down then back up to me.

‘It’s not been the best day,’ He admits, his hazel eyes swirling with tiredness. ‘But just seeing you have made it a little better.’ He smiled and I could feel my cheeks heating.

Ignoring the tingles, I let my thumb gently rub the side of his pinky finger. ‘Do you want to talk about it? I’m a great listener.’ His pinky moves, wrapping itself around my thumb as he thinks about it for a minute.

‘Not really.’ He sighs out, and as he edges closer, his musky cologne fills my nostrils, instantly relaxing me. Devin’s the quiet one. Quieter than any of his friends who are almost open books. When they were joking and laughing the other day, I noticed he was pensive as he sat there watching the group. It was like he was lost in his own world. One I wanted to learn more about because even though we’ve shared the most intimate parts of our bodies, I feel like I don’t really know him. Something inside me wants to know everything about him though.

I leaned back from the railing, giving him the space I think he needs. I smile noticing he watched my body with interest. It’s nice to know that I might have the same effect on him as he does to me. ‘Do you want to hang here?’ He asks, scratching the back of his head. A quick thrill runs down my spine because this is the first time I’ve been invited in, to spend time with him, in his space. ‘We could watch a movie.’ He suggests. A dark room with Devin. I’m in.

‘Are you sure? I don’t want to disturb you.’ I ask more for politeness because the last thing I’d want to do is force him to hang out with me when he just wants to be alone. I can’t deny, the idea of being in his bedroom is sending all kinds of excitement through my body though.

He grins, I’m sure he could hear the eagerness in my voice. I’ve got a feeling if I go over there, things may end in a more than friendly kind of way. ‘I’d love the company.’

I hold back the squeal of excitement, ‘Okay, great. Well let me just put my PJs on and I’ll come right over.’ He nods with a grin on his face. Is this really going to happen again? Have I somehow willed it?

After I turned around, I glanced over my shoulder. Devin is still leaning against the railing. He’s slow to move because he’s watching me, and I may add a little swag to my walk for good measure. I grab a pair of shorts and a t-shirt from my bed and head to the bathroom to get ready for my night with Devin.
