Chapter 70

AMELIA:

I had been so worried about Dexter after searching around for hours but I didn’t replace him,

I was even more worried that he could be angry at me after what I said. I really wanted so badly to know what happened to his mother in the past and why he despised Luna Aurora so much,

Could he not see what a kind soul she was? She practically cared about him so much that an heir was what she wanted me to bear for him so he would take over as the next Alpha king,

It wasn’t really easy to see that kind of stepmom because mine was just evil,

I didn’t want Dexter to regret his actions once he realized how much she loves him,

I picked up my phone and tried to dial Dexter’s number over and over again, but there was no response from him, making me worried. Dexter wouldn’t be ignoring my calls would he?

I rose to my feet and stepped out of the room, heading towards the living room, but Dexter wasn’t around,

As I got out of the Mansion, I was quick to notice that the car that had been parked outside earlier was gone, and I knew he had left the mansion for somewhere,

Taking a deep breath in, I turned around to walk back into the house. I headed back to the room and decided to sleep a bit till he returned.

A few hours afterward, I woke to the rasp of a knock on my door. I lazily stood up from the bed and hurried towards the door so I could open it,

"I’m so sorry for disturbing you, Luna, Luna Aurora would love to see you." A maid informed,

I was really tired and needed to sleep more but I also couldn’t refuse Luna Aurora’s request. Although we had just met a few hours ago, I wanted to know why she demanded to see me,

"Alright, I’ll be down in a few minutes," I responded to the maid and she lowered her head before walking away. I shut the door and decided to wash my face, then get ready to leave.

I got to the living room to meet her seated and waiting for me with a tray of fresh juice,

"Hello, darling." She greeted and I smiled,

"Good afternoon, Luna. I thought you would be resting now."

"I should be. Seeing your dark circles, you were asleep. I’m so sorry for waking you up my darling. Come have a seat." She uttered,

I took my seat close to her and she gently rubbed her hair. She was so much of a mother figure in my life,

"Here, fresh juice would be so good for the baby, have it." She raised the cup and filled it to the brim with juice while I collected it from her afterward,

"Drink up." She murmured and I drank it halfway since I was so thirsty. "The Alpha king is so happy and super proud of you, Amelia. Though he might not show it because he’s so worried about the constant pack attack, rest assured he’s proud and happy for the life inside of you." I nodded my head but instantly became worried,

"I’m worried, Luna. Do you think vampires are back in the pack?"

She raised her eyebrows at me and responded, "Vampires? Where did you hear that, honey? They have long been banished from the pack, so I’m certain the attacks aren’t caused by them." She held my hand, "There’s absolutely nothing to be scared of. If those vampires surely return, the Alpha king would be the first to know, and Dexter would protect you at all costs."

I smiled as I suddenly recalled Dexter, and nodded my head. Luna Aurora was also right because Dexter had said the attackers weren’t vampires but rogues who probably wanted
