Chapter 27

LOGAN

1 paced back and forth as I recalled the words of Raymond. Isabel was pregnant. I replace that hard to believe but it couldn’t be possible if she was four years ago because we always had sex.

But it doesn’t make sense to me that she’d be pregnant and not let me know. Raymond said he might have been mistaken but he couldn’t be because the nurse confirmed it but Isabel denjed it.

I wasn’t sure of what to believe at that moment and all I was doing was waiting for every little information I could get from

my secretary.

Raymond returned to my office. He had gone to use the toilet.

“You might want to take things easy because if things don’t turn out the way I might have presumed then I don’t know? Raymond said.

“I don’t think I’d be calm unless I got the information that I need. I can’t even think properly. Is it even possible?”

“Do the maths. If the kids look like three and four years then they might not be the guy’s child. I mean you said it yourself you aren’t sure if they have been together for long but they are together. I don’t think that child is for the man. We just need a little more to confirm, Raymond stated.

“I don’t want to stress much about it at all. It’s fine. I’m fine. I don’t want to talk about this. Are you still up for a drink tonight?” I asked.

“Yes.” Raymond replied.

We went to a bar later that evening to clear our heads. I was busy taking each shot after the other in hopes of getting rid of everything that was disturbing my thoughts.

“Are you sure you are alright?” Raymond asked.

I shook my head. “No, I’m not. I’m not sure I’d be. I can’t be and won’t be unless I kill that man and the children if they are his.

“You shouldn’t do that you know. He’s human and you are a werewolf and you should focus on your own business and you aren’t just a werewolf but you are an Alpha. An alpha of the pack Raymond reminded me and it wasn’t like I didn’t remember and that was why I kept holding back each time I wanted to get rid of that man.

“I know,” I uttered.

“That’s her.”

“That’s who?” I asked.

“Adeline. The girl I have been talking about,” he said and I looked in the direction he was looking to see a brunette-haired girl talking to a man. aman.

She looked familiar and the more I stared at her, the more I recalled where it was that I saw her. She was the one I saw with Isabel.

She was the one who had taken Isabel’s kids inside.

“Are you sure? Are you referring to the brunette-haired girl?” I asked.

Chapter 27

“Yes the one you are staring at and who is the man she’s speaking to?”.

“If you ask me, who am I to ask?” I asked.

“I know her though. I don’t know her but I’ve seen her.”,

“You’ve seen her? Maybe. I mean she’s everywhere considering she’s here now with another man.” He spoke spitefully.

“Now that’s jealousy. Are you jealous?”

“Jealous? Why would I be? I can’t be. I just wanted to have sex with her but it seems she’s nothing but a sl ut. She does it for a night and doesn’t repeat it.” He uttered through his teeth.

The girl was flirting with the man she was talking to and he was dirting back.

I strained my ears to eavesdrop on their conversation.

“It seems he wants to have her in his bed tonight and she’s not rejecting him nor accepting him,” I informed him.

“You can’t do that you know and I’m not interested in knowing what it is that they are talking about. She can go to hell for all I care. he spat out.

From my peripheral view, I stared at him and then I laughed. “You should focus more on your mate then maybe nature. would be nice to make you get what you want, don’t you think? I mean take a look at the girl, she doesn’t seem like an ordinary one or is she?”

“Can we leave?” Raymond asked.

– Just then, the girl turns in her direction. The man left her side and I expected her to follow suit but instead, she began to

walk in our direction.

“And now she’s coming,” I whistled, curious to see where she was truly coming from and what she had in mind.

She stopped in front of our table and she didn’t seem to have a smile on her face which I expected after all she didn’t know me in person for her to smile at me.

She wasn’t staring at Raymond but instead, she was staring at me with a glare on her face.

“Finally I see you alone and in person,” she uttered and I looked behind me to see if there was someone else she was referring to because it could not be me that she was looking at.

“You don’t have to look behind okay? You are the me I’m talking to. I’m Adeline and I’m Isabel’s best friend.” She introduced and I frowned upon hearing the name Isabel.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“What am I talking about? I will get straight to the point so that you know that I’m not here to play.” She moved closer to me.

“Stay the f uck away from Isabel. You’ve already done a lot of damage to her in the past and that’s enough. Stay away from her or I promise you that I will make sure you regret hurting her and reappearing in her life and I’m not making empty promises. I don’t say words I don’t mean and it’s not a threat. It’s a warning.” With that said, she turned to leave, leaving me in shock at her attitude.
