POV

I am so lucky and grateful to have found Rosie and Angel that. I sometimes begin to wonder what wou

e happened to me if I hadn't followed my instincts and replace angel's house. Maybe I would have been dead by now or maybe in prison.

Well let's keep the past behind. I'm trying my best to forget all about my past. I don't want to live with it buried inside of me. I want to be happy. Although I know for the fact that it's going to be hard but I'm ready to try my very possible best to be happy. The problem right now is that my wolf crystal is taking soo much time to heal. She hasn't been responding to anything. Well I don't blame her. She has seen hell in the prison we broke out from so how can I blame her. She actually helped me by collecting most of the drugs and all. I'm surprised she's even alive. She is one strong wolf and I'm proud to be blessed with her but again I miss her so much. Can't wait to have her back.

Also about Smith, well he has been nothing but nice to me ever since. But I'm scared to accept him for I'm waiting for crystal so I can be sure if what I am doing is actually right or not. I need to be sure he is actually my mate as he claimed to be. I have been hurt by people in the past who claim to be who they are not only for me to fall into their traps and be hurt at the end.

I have to admit it he sure is a handsome man. And let's not go to his body figure, damn he sure is well built Even from his shirt, you can see he sure has the muscles.

But in his part, I can literally feel his eyes on me every now and then. When I look at him he doesn't re my eyes and give me a breath taking smile. I don't get why he just had to look this handsome, it's mak No I can't fall for his charms. Definitely going to stay strong.

"Smith eat something already. It will soon be time to return back to class and you haven't had something to eat." I heard Rosie say making me to look at her. "Oh right." Smith answered as he started eating.

Well for Rosie I can't say why but I totally feel so connected to her like I can trust her with my life. She doesn't seem to be someone who is strong or something but she just have this energy that comes from her that seems so special. I felt it the moment I locked eyes with her the first. She is so pure and a very amazing person. I noticed that she is sometimes quie but she also talks so well. But I can't fail to notice why she didn't stand up for herself when that psycho who is to be their alpha almost killed her. I'm guessing this isn't the first time he is treating her such way. There is no way he's going to ever stop unless she stands her ground. I need to have a talk with her about this.

"So Maria how are you enjoying school?" Nate asked me.

Wow that's surprising. He doesn't seem like the talking type. For him to try to start a conversation wit "Well so far it isn't bad. I'm happy I'm with Rosie at least I'm not alone or anything." I answered him.

"I'm glad you are adjusting quite well. Incase anyone tries to bully you or anything don't fail to let us know so we can deal with whoever that person is okay?"

Right now he just sounded like my older brother which I don't mind at all. I have never had an elder brother so having him won't be bad at all. "Alright I will." I said to him smiling.

A spoon hitting a plate hard startled me. I look to see it was Smith who dropped his spoon and he looked angry. He stood up carried his bag and left. Alright what's his problem? What's with the attitude?

I looked at Angel, Rosie and Nate to see they were also confused wondering what was wrong with him. He was smiling just a while ago and now his angry. What could have changed his mood so quickly? I couldn't help but feel bothered. I couldn't stop thinking about him.

We finished eating and returned back to class for the remaining class. While Rosie and I sat on our seats, I couldn't help but notice that girl from earlier was glaring at us.

I touched Rosie to get her attention.

"Hey what's that girl's deal?"

"What girl?" she asked looking confused.

I motion my head towards where she sat.

"Oh you mean Juliet."

Oh so her name is Juliet.

"What happened to her?" Rosie asked.

"Well I don't get why she's glaring at us when we did nothing to her or is she still anger about her boyfriend's helmet?" I asked.

"Well I don't know about that but try and be careful when your around her. She sure is a bully who loves to hurt other's feelings so try as much as possible to avoid her." Rosie advised.

"Alright will try." I said but trust me I didn't mean it.

Like I said earlier, I'm silent sometimes but sometimes outspoken. I won't allow someone who is my age mate to look down on me never. For Rosie part I can understand she is an Omega while Juliet is a bit higher than her so it's necessary she has to respect her but for me it's a different case. Why? Well because I have a gamma blood and also been a rogue for years so the cold heart is still here. And I can't listen to anyone except my superior. That's the reason why in prison I got into so many troubles.

"I can't help but think what happened to Smith earlier. He didn't look so good like something bad happened to him. I just hope it's nothing serious." Rosie said.

She just had to bring up the topic to make me remember about him.

"Well I'm sure he is going to be fine. He looks like someone who is strong." I said to her.

"Maria but be frank with me, why don't you want to accept him as your mate? You have gotten a mate who loves you. Incase you didn't notice, Smith loves you so much we can all see it in his eyes. He cares for you so much so I don't know why you don't want to accept him." she said.

I let out a sigh.

"I know he is a good person and all but I need my wolf to come back so I can confirm if he is my wolf. I know his making it so obvious that we are mates but I can't stop doubting the fact about it until my mate confirms it. I have lived a life that people came into my life with so much lies in their lips hurting me at the end so I need to be sure it's not a lie that's why I still need more time." I explained to her.

"I understand you Maria but please try to make it fast. Not everyone is lucky to replace a mate such as Smith who loves you so much." she said.

From the look on her face, I could tell that her words had it's meaning. It was like she was talking about herself.

"Are you okay Rosie? You look like something is bothering you?" I asked her.

She looked at me and shaked her head before smiling at me.

"Don't worry about me. I'm totally fine. You don't have to worry about me." she said.

I didn't believe her but I decided not to drag the issue because I know someday the truth will definitely come out.

The teacher entered and apologized for being late well not like we cared. Classes started.

The final bell rang. Wow I survived my first day at school and I must say I heard so much fun. Rosie and I packed our books and placed them in our bags before leaving the classroom. We walked outside and meet Nate and Angel. I wondered why Smith wasn't with them. "Hey you guys where is Smith?" Rosie asked them.

"Well his still in class. Ever since he left the cafeteria, he hasn't said a word to anyone. I tried to replace out what's wrong with him but he has refused to say anything as his mood is still sour." Nate said.

I couldn't help but feel worried for him. I wonder what was wrong with him. I felt like I should go and have a word with him instead.

"Why don't you guys go ahead. I will try and talk to him." I said to them.

Nate, Rosie and Angel eyes went wide.

"Are you sure about that?" Rosie asked.

"Yes I think. I'm sure that if we are truly mate, he would tell me what's bothering him. Right?" I asked as I was unsure.

"Well you are right Maria. Wishing you the best of luck talking to him." Nate said.

"Thanks you can go ahead." I said before walking into the school building. I began to search all the classrooms looking for him. I finally found him alone in an empty class.

I entered the classroom and saw his head was bent to the desk. I guess he smelt me coming because he immediately raised his head up and looked at me with a surprise look on his face. I guess he wasn't expecting me. "Maria?" he said softly.

"Yes it's me. Why are you here when you are supposed to going home with us? What's wrong with you? Your mood was off earlier." I asked him.

He let out a sigh and looked elsewhere.

"Its nothing."

I knew he was lying.

"Smith don't lie to me. I know something is bothering you so tell me." I said to him.

"Fine since you want to know. I was fucking jealous that you smiled at Nate who is my friend but when it comes to me, you shy away. Earlier you talked to Nate naturally without hiding from him like you do to me. I won't lie I was truly hurt." he said to me. Oh now I get it. I was the reason why he was like that.

"I am sorry. I didn't know I hurt you like that. Trust me I never met to hurt you in anyway." I said to him.

"Then just accept me please." he said as he stood up and held my hand gently. This time I couldn't push him away. Infact I felt strangely good feeling him touch me.

He stood very close to me looking right into my eyes. It was like we were in a trance just looking at each other.

His head moved closer to mine and before I knew what was happening, his lips were on mine. He was kissing me.

The moment his lips touched mine, I felt a great wave of sparks. Inside my head I heard a voice I missed so much although it sounded so weak but I heard what she said clearly. "MATE."
