The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 29

Jemma’s POV

After a long, fun day of hanging out with my new friends, I was ready to see what my mate had in store for our mysterious date. He wouldn’t tell me a thing about it. Not even a clue. A part of me hoped it wasn’t some cliche romantic dinner thing. I was on my way back to my room when I was standing in front of the elevators. Ainsley walked up with Olivia while giggling about something. They both stopped when they saw me.

“Hi, Jemma.” Ainsley greeted me. I saw she had gotten a new haircut and her nails done.

I pointed at her nails. They were painted in a leopard skin pattern. “Hey, your nails look cool,” I said to her. “And I love your hair.”

She smiled flipped her brown hair. “Mother and I got makeovers along with mani-pedis today.”

“You look great, Ains.”

“Thank you, Jemma. Olivia and I are about to watch some Netflix. Want to come?”

As much as I wanted to hang out with Ainsley, I couldn’t stand the thought of being around Olivia too long. I saw her sneering at me. She was behind Ainsley, so it seemed my sister-in-law didn’t notice. I shook my head. “Maybe another night. I have to get ready for a date with Cassius.”

Ainsley smiled. “Oooo. Where is my brother taking you?” She asked as we stepped onto the elevator. I saw Olivia roll her eyes.

“He won’t tell me. He is being all mysterious.”

She laughed. “My brother must be planning something big.”

“Well, he is the romantic type,” Olivia added. “Something I don’t think someone like you would appreciate.” She gave me a look.

I rolled my eyes. “Why wouldn’t I appreciate it?”

“Well, you just don’t seem to be into romance or things like that.”

“You are right, Olivia,” I replied dryly to her as the doors opened and we stepped onto the royal family’s floor. She looked at me with a surprised look on her face. “I am not much into romance. But since it’s Cassius and I love him. I will appreciate anything he has gone to the trouble of planning.”

“You don’t love him.” Olivia sneered. “You have only known him for a week.”

I snorted. “I have known Cassius my whole life. My father is his father’s best friend. We didn’t grow up together, but we saw each other a few times when we were pups.”

“Still, you only say you love him because of the mate bond.”

Ainsley looked at her friend. “You are just jealous, Liv, because you rejected your mate.”

“That’s because Cassy had promised me that I was going to be queen. I love him. He loves me. He just forgot because of the Goddess’s stupid mate bond.” Olivia stated while giving me a dark smirk.

“Your rejected mate is probably better off without you.” I snorted at her. “I know in your deluded head, Cassius may have lead you to believe he loved you. But he has told me you guys were just casual f**k buddies.”

She growled at me and tried to lunge at me, but I sidestepped, and she fell to the ground. “You bitch.” She snarled as Ainsley helped her off the floor. “You don’t know what you are talking about.”

I shrugged. “That’s Queen b***h to you.”

She stood up and tried lunging for me again, only to have Ainsley hold her back. I was surprised at my sister-in-law’s strength. “Stop it, Olivia. Just stop.” She ordered her so-called friend. “You always do stuff like this.”

“Cassius is mine!” She screamed at me. I just snickered, which made her angrier. She balled up her fist and lunged for me again. I grabbed her arm and flipped her over my back. She landed on the hard marble floor with a thud, and I placed my foot on her chest.

A growl rumbled through the hall as I looked up to see Cassius coming out of our room. He marched towards us. “What is going on out here?”

“Cassy, baby. Jemma attacked me.” Olivia began to cry as I lifted my foot off her chest. She sat on the ground with alligator tears, trying to sound like the victim.

“She didn’t attack you, Liv.” Ainsley looked annoyed.

“So, what did happen?” Cassius folded his arms and looked between the three of us.

“Oh, you know the usual.” I started. “She thinks you belong to her because she sucked your d**k a few times, and so she tried to attack me,” I explained.

Cassius looked down at Olivia. “I don’t know why you still think I ever loved you, Olivia.”

Olivia sniffled. “Cassy, baby. Please.”

“Stop calling me Cassy. Only my mother can call me that. Get it through your head. There was never anything between us. We just had s*x a few times. I never promised you anything.”

Ainsley helped Olivia to her feet. “But-but,” She cried.

“It’s over, Olivia. Cassius is mine.” I wrapped an arm around my mate. “You are only hurting yourself with your delusions. I suggest therapy.”

She growled at me. “You will pay for this, Jemma.”

Cassius took a step towards her. “Are you threatening your queen?” He asked in a cold tone I hadn’t heard him ever use.

Olivia stiffened. “N-no.”

“It sounded like a threat to me,” I said to him.

“I think it’s time you left, Olivia,” Cassius growled at her.

Olivia touched Ainsley’s arm. “Your sister and I were just about to go watch something on Netflix.”

“Not anymore. Sorry Ains, but Olivia needs to leave now.” He said to his sister.

Ainsley frowned. “I’m sorry Olivia is such a pain, but she shouldn’t be threatening Jemma.”

Cassius turned to Olivia. “You can leave quietly, or I can have my guards drag you out.” He pushed the button to the elevator. “Your choice.”

Her shoulders dropped. “I still love you, Cassius. When Jemma inevitably replaces someone else to screw, you’ll come crawling back to me.”

I growled as I stepped forward. Cassius grabbed my shoulder. “It’s not worth it, Jemma.”

“You are right.” I leaned against him as Olivia walked onto the elevator. The doors closed on her glaring face.

Ainsley sighed. “I don’t know why I still hang out with her.”

“Well, for now on, she is not allowed in the palace. I can’t have her threatening Jemma, like that.” Cassius explained to his sister.

She sighed. “I’m sorry, Cass, I didn’t realize she was that deluded. I won’t hang out with her anymore.” She hung her head.

Cassius swept her into a side hug and kissed the top of her head. “It’s alright, Ains. You have a good heart and want to please everyone. If you still want to hang out with her-“

“No, Cass. I am done with her.” She sniffled as a tear fell down her cheek.

I touched her arm. “Tomorrow, I am hanging out with Delilah. She is my brother’s mate. You can come with us. I’m not sure what we are doing yet, but I would love to get to know both of my new sisters,” I smiled at her as she pulled away from Cassius and hugged me.

“Thank you, Jemma. I am glad you are Cass’s mate.”

I hugged her back before Cassius gently pulled me away. “Sorry, Ains, but I gotta steal Jemma. I am taking her on a date.”

Ainsley smiled at her big brother. “Have fun. I’m going to go see if Mom wants to watch a movie with me.” She waved before walking towards her parent’s room.
