The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 51

Jemma’s POV

The last few days before the coronation flew by as the palace fell into organized chaos. I watched as servants hung scores of flowers along the halls. They transformed the throne room into a hall of tapestries and streamers. I spent most of the days with Izzy learning all I could about being queen. My head felt like bursting from all of the information.

The night before the coronation Cassius and I finally got some alone time. After tucking Nicky into bed, my mate and I just sat on the couch in our room and watched cooking shows, and of course, that leads to s*x.

I awoke from the sexy night feeling nauseous. I knew I was about to puke, but I was held in place by Cassius’s strong arm around my waist. He was snoring behind me with his face buried in the back of my neck. “Cassius,” I smacked his arm. “Cassius!” I yelled as I felt the bile rising in my stomach. I became more frantic as my mouth began to water to tell me of the impending vomit. “CASSIUS!” I screamed and bit his arm.

He awoke with a start and released me from his hold. “What?” He mumbled as I rolled off the bed and ran into the bathroom. I barely made it before emptying my stomach into the porcelain bowl. I g*****d and sat on the cold marble tile of the bathroom. My hands were holding my face over the bowl.

I felt nauseous again and continued to dry heave. My ribs began to hurt. I felt a hand on my back as he gently stroked me. “What are you doing?” I mumbled as I leaned back from the toilet. Cassius had sat behind me on the floor. I leaned against his chest as his hands gently stroked my arms.

“Morning sickness?”

I nodded, “Yep. It’s begun.” I mumbled as I felt the need to vomit again. There was only bile in my stomach, and I gagged while retching. “You don’t have to watch,” I said in between heaves.

He pulled my hair back with one hand and stroked my back with the other hand. “I am here for you, love.”

I couldn’t fault him for trying to comfort me. I sat back down on the cold tile, and he pulled me into his lap. My head fell against his warm bare chest as he just stroked my arms. Cassius placed a soft k**s on my temple. “I’m going to be doing this for the next two months, at least.”

He gently stroked my belly. “We are in this together.” We just remained on the floor for several minutes until we heard a frantic knocking on the door of our suite.

“CASSIUS! JEMMA!” It was Izzy shouting for us.

I sighed and slid off of Cassius’s lap as he stood up. I then heard the door open.

“Where is Jemma?” I heard Izzy demanding in the room. “We are behind schedule.” My mother-in-law had become a bit overbearing the last few days. I knew it was just stress, but she was like a bridezilla.

I stood up from the bathroom floor and stumbled to the door, and leaned against it. My mother was standing beside Izzy. Cassius looked back at me. “Jemma had morning sickness. I was comforting her.”

I stepped towards him and leaned against him for a second before Izzy pulled him away. “Well, we have to start getting her ready. She’ll be alright. Melinda and I know how to take care of morn sickness. Now go get ready in my room. Your father and Phillip are waiting for you.” ‘

Cassius sighed. “But Mom, I am only wearing boxers.”

Izzy put her hands on her h**s. “Cassius Alexander Fury, do not argue with me and go!” She barked while pointing to the door.

Cassius gave me a sympathetic look and tried walking towards me for a k**s but was stopped by his mother’s hand on his chest. “I guess I’ll see you later, Jemma.” He smiled as Izzy shoved him out of our room.

“Mom, where is Nicky?”

“Your father is watching him for now.” My mother replied.

I sighed and felt nauseous again, but the urge to vomit was holding back for now. There was another knock on the door, and Izzy let in about half a dozen women. “Okay, Jemma, I know you feel ill. But we need you to get in the tub so you can cleanse your body. Then I have breakfast for you, and then the hair and makeup people are here.”

My mother-in-law growled. “Don’t you argue with me, now get in the bathroom.” She pointed as two women walked with me. One had turned on the faucet, and the other poured some scented oil in.

“Your majesty, we must clean you.”

“What? I can clean myself.” I cringed at the thought.

Izzy stepped into the bathroom with her hands on her h**s again. “Jemma, do as these ladies say. It is a tradition that you are cleansed.”

My mother was behind Izzy. “It won’t be that bad, Jemma.”

I glared at both of them as I stripped off my clothes and stepped into the tub. The warm water was soothing as the scented oil was like flowers. They the ladies began to wash me. I shuddered as the only hands I wanted on me were my mate’s. I closed my eyes and bit my l*p to hide my discomfort.

When they were done, I stood up and was wrapped in a thin robe and lead back into my room, which had been transformed into a salon. My sister was sitting on a couch eating a croissant. My stomach rumbled, and I felt hungry and nauseous at the same time. I was sat down at a vanity that had magically appeared in the middle of my room. I was handed a cup of coffee and cringed. I set it down. “Isn’t there food for me?” I asked, and someone gave me a banana. I slowly nibbled at it as the salon chair I was sitting in was leaned back.

A smooth hand began to rub lotion on my face and body. Again I felt uncomfortable. “Oh, Jemma, don’t tell me you are uncomfortable.”

“Then I won’t,” I mumbled as I finished the banana. My stomach felt better as I was given some orange juice to sip on. I tried to enjoy the facial, but my nerves were starting to go haywire. In hours I would be officially crowned queen of the werewolves. I would be responsible for nearly a million lives as I would be able to mind link them all. Izzy had given me advice on how to quiet them all before my head exploded.

The hours seemed to go by slowly as my hair was tugged and pulled and curled. They slathered my face with too much makeup. I looked like a clown in the mirror, and then a robe was placed around me as I was lead down to a room across from the throne room. There was a red velvet carpet leading into the throne room as people began to crowd inside.

Izzy told me that all of the alphas in the kingdom would be here as well as the leaders of the other supernaturals. I would be meeting King Romulus of the vampire kingdom. Grand Wizard Tuatha leader of the witches, warlocks, and other spellcasters. Then there was Gideon Kreel, the leader of the Hunters. Many years ago, Terry had signed a treaty with all of them to ensure peace to protect the humans. It was an uneasy peace, but it was meant to keep the world from falling into chaos.

I stood on a pedestal in the center of the room as the gown was brought in. The dark blue old fashioned thing was screaming my name. I sighed as I stripped down to only a thin white bra and my panties. My mother stood beside me crying. She was now wearing a golden gown and had her blonde hair braided. “Mom, why are you crying?”

“My baby is about to become queen,” She sobbed.

“Mom, if you cry, then I am going to cry.”

Izzy growled, “Don’t you dare. You will mess up your makeup.”

I laughed as I was helped into the god awful gown. It was a bit tight around my waist as it seemed the twins had doubled in size and were now making their presence known. I wasn’t showing yet, but everything I wore now was tight. “I feel like it’s gotten tighter overnight.” I g*****d.

“Seems the twins had a growth spurt,” My mother remarked.

“But can you breathe?” Izzy asked.

I nodded.

“Well, then it will be alright.”

I started feeling hot as the necklace I had picked out was placed around my neck. Then it seemed I was done.

“It is almost time, Jemma,” Izzy clasped my hand. “I have to go put on my dress, and I’ll meet you in the throne room. Your parents will lead you in.” I hadn’t noticed that her makeup and hair had someone gotten done in the chaos.

“Thank you, Izzy.” I smiled as she stepped out of the room. I looked at my mother and sister.

“Oh, Jemma, you look beautiful.” My mother sniffled. “I can’t believe you are about to become the Queen.”

“She is so lucky,” Tiffany said to my mother.

I shrugged. “I don’t know about luck. It’s just a role. I didn’t ask for this.”

Tiffany snorted, “Oh please, you always get all the luck, Jemma. The white wolf, the king mate-“

“Are you jealous of me, Tiff?”

“Duh, Jemma. People forget I am Phillip MacKenzie’s child too. All of the glory goes to you and Iain. I am just the forgotten one.”

“I’m sorry you feel that way, Tiffany. But you need to step out of my shadow and make your own path. Feeling sorry for yourself isn’t going to get you noticed.”

Tiffany folded her arms and glared at me. “I don’t feel sorry for myself.”

“Then quit whining.”

“Oh, shove it, Jemma.”

“Girls!” My mother barked. “Jemma, you are about to be crowned queen, and you are arguing with your sister.”

“Tiffany started it.”

My mother put her hands on her h**s and looked towards the door. “Phillip, do something about your kids.”

I turned to see my father standing in the doorway wearing a black tuxedo with a silk sash across his chest. It was green and gold with our pack’s coat of arms. His brown hair was slicked back as his blue eyes sparkled. He stepped into the room with my brother right behind him. “Girls, what are you doing to your mother?”

“Nothing, “I grumbled.

He laughed as he looked me over as his eyes gleamed with tears, “Today, you will become the Queen of Lycanis. I could not be more proud of the woman you have become, Jemma. I know you and Cassius will rule this kingdom well.” He turned to my siblings, “You two go on into the throne room. An usher will take you both to your seats.”

My brother smiled at me, “Jemma, you look beautiful.” He was dressed in a tuxedo like our father. He left his hair a little messy. He looked like a younger version of our father.

“You don’t look so bad yourself, Iain.” I glanced at my sister, “You look beautiful too, Tiffany. You are not forgotten. You are my sister, and I remember you.”

She smiled at me as tears formed in her eyes, “I’m sorry, Jemma.”

My mother placed a hand on her shoulder, “Okay, it’s all behind us. Tiffany, you and Iain do as your father told you.”

My siblings left the room, and I was left with my parents. My hands started to tremble and sweat. I wanted to sit down and rock in the corner. I took a deep breath.

“You can do this, Jemma,” My mother lightly stroked my arm. “Since the day you came out of me backward, I knew you would test my resolve as a mother. You were always my most stubborn and hard to handle child, but I wouldn’t change you for the world. I am so proud of you.”

“Mom,” I felt tears threatening to fall as my mother tried hugging me. It was awkward in this gown. Tears fell from my mother’s eyes. I heard my father sigh.

“Okay, you two need to stop that.” He chuckled lightly as someone knocked on the door. A guard poked his head in as my father opened the door.

“Alpha MacKenzie, it is time,” He stated to my father.
